I disagree. I say free the money up for more important things our country NEEDS, destroy the economy built up around the trafficking of illegal substances and tax the ever-loving snot out of it, and let the users use themselves to death. If one tenth of the money spent on drug law enforcement was spent on prevention, rehabilitation, and post use trauma the results would be quite the opposite of what they are today. Just sayin'

If it was me I'd choose something with an AMD A series processor in it, a manageable weight to screen size ratio, and with 4GB RAM minimum. The one you guys are talking about would seem to fit the bill perfectly. Also remember to budget for a case to hold the device and it's accessories, also grab a wireless mouse while you're at it, preferably with the "back" thumb button on the mouse.

I'd skip the windows 8 upgrade. Just sayin'.

After reading the report I have a few questions... How does one raise one's hands in an aggressive manner? When one raises one's hands how was it determined an object in ones hands is "pointed" at LEO? How does LEO know the object was pointed at them if the house was so darkened they couldn't tell what exactly the suspect was holding? Basically reads as if they entered the home and saw someone holding something who complied with LEO's orders and was shot immediately without concern for determining if there was a credible threat to the LEO.

There's this, well not new, but more often than not thing going on these days where drug dealers will have drugs shipped via UPS/FEDEX to homes of neighbors. Having the tracking numbers they know exactly what time the drugs will arrive and remove them from the premises if they deem it safe to do so. LEO has in the past raided homes of unsuspecting folks who were unwittingly the victims of this type of "delivery" who never knew packages of drugs were arriving on their doorsteps. Newer window units are very highly efficient and when you size them appropriately for the home and use their power saving features with the electronic thermostats on them you'll see a dramatic savings vs. a whole house unit. Most of the cameras at local intersections these days are for operational purposes, as in they monitor the traffic at the intersection and are programmed to change the lights when a threshold of vehicles are met. They're much cheaper to maintain than cutting sensors into the roadbed.
