I agree with all of this, especially the bolded part. LED bulbs will replace the CFL's eventually, the expected lifetime of the LED's are ~10+ years. Also be aware that most cheap CFL's are not rated for wet location use, meaning, NOT in the bathroom, also many have venting for the ballast in the base of the unit, the venting must be oriented properly for the bulbs to last the expected lifetime. If you don't take this into account the bulb ballast may overheat and cause the bulb to explode or base to burn up.

Current prognostication: Small window of winter weather starting around 1pm-ish, less than 1" of accumulation expected. Surface temps won't get to freezing until after 7pm tonight. Windy weather overnight, maybe some surface freezing before 7am Friday. Again, Winter Weather Watch has been downgraded to Advisory.

Wal-Mart Plans to Hire Any Veteran Who Wants a Job

Grandson: Grandpa, what was it like when you were young? Grandpa: Well sonny, we had this thing when we worked called Full-Time that gave us benefits and money. Quite unlike this new-fangled thing we have today where you slave away for 10 hours a week at 6 different jobs, and at the end of the week still owe the government money. -
Your posts clearly show you lack the aptitude to frame an argument properly. Global Warming is so 2000's, these days you need to call it climatic f*cking. And debate that when the Earth's population sustainability limit is overshot those with the biggest guns and most ammo will win. You can thank me later.

What huge business in America doesn't get involved in politics? -
I have no issue with the "alternative lifestyle" crowd, until they act like they want a friggin' cookie because of said lifestyle. *insert cannot roll my eyes hard enough emoticon*

Plumbing, it's a sh*tty job but I hear you get to lay a lot of pipe.

LOL love it. Maths hard, except when I'm sitting in front of a giant "Prognosticating Calculator" machine. Mine currently calculates at an astounding 2.4 MILLION operations per second.

Heartworm and flea medication - what do you use?
Riptides replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Aren't all parasite medications really just poison that is administered at a low enough level to affect the parasites and not the host animal? Used Comfortis in the past for flea control until one of my dogs became sensitive to it and would begin frothing, salivating, and puking within on hour of dosing. Not using it anymore. -

And it isn't a stretch to realize the whole reason they're in their elected positions, to represent us, is pretty much negated with the advent of the internet. I mean imagine if we ran this country like an online poll.. er wait.. nevermind. -
If I've stopped to pick up something at the store, happen to be on the same aisle as you, and make eye contact, then I'll smile, can't say if I really nod tho.. it's just acknowledging that there is another person in my vicinity. Also if you're staring at something on the shelf from across the aisle, which I tend to do getting older, and I pass between you and the area you're staring at I'll say an "excuse me".. That's just general politeness. Now if you got a nice derriere and wearing some tight pants, or a pair of nice gams that go all the way from the floor to the overly short hem

Has anyone heard anything hinky about a red Ford Ranger?
Riptides replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It's kinda like kinky, but with more suspicion. -
I'm hoping for e-girlfriend with the iCook and iClean apps installed. Most likely an up front bonus deal. If he likes the product then stick with it, better than smoking if it's replaced the real thing. But there's some new products out that hold more eLiquid and it can be cheaper to buy quality liquids in bulk and/or make your own. The price at the stores for the kits and cartridges are quite pricy vs. online.

As reported via Reuters (Link to story). And as said by someone on the Security forums on DSLR.com Website: The only issue is that there are some enterprise solutions, such as ADP's web based interface, that require you to use Java.

OMG WAY WAY overpriced merch via that link.. Try looking at something like www.madvapes.com or follow a review site like www.grimmgreen.com which has a shedload of Youtube vids of different products. Vaping can be a very cheap alternative to smoking, but you almost need to make it a hobby to get great results. I got into it back in 2009 and quit smoking during a 6 month period. I fell out of love with it because: A: A ton of the ecigs weren't quality B: Too many folks jumping in and selling crap eLiquids that when burned tasted like a skunks ass C: Equipment was too fiddl

When I was a kid I could go to the store and buy cigarettes "for my momma", with no problem, even if they weren't "her" brand.

Yeah for some reason that trio would crack me up especially since Jeff Hill always seemed stoned out of his gourd in the mornings.

Been several snarky tech stories over the years of folks buying up a half dozen printers around Christmas time, once the ink runs out, you trash them and unbox a new printer since the printers were cheaper than what the replacement ink was going for. Those would be the super cheap print only printers but the idea scales up to the fact that all printers are pretty much garbage these days. Would be better to buy a separate scanner then get the cheap printers that are disposable than go through the headaches of having it "break" eventually, which IMO the All-In-One printers seem more pr

I've just discovered a game that flew completely under my radar this entire year, pun intended, and I've been playing the "heck" out of it this past week. THE HECK I say! It's called Kerbal Space Program and it's a space simulator game where you can design, build, launch, and fly your own spacecraft. Currently the game is in a Beta state, and you can buy in now for early access as it's updated and improved for release for under $25. So far I'm amazed by what you can do in the game, the game includes moons and planets and requires real thought in order to design a space program from th

In regards to all upright standing tank water heaters, even if said Water Heater is installed in the attic and you shut off the cold water supply and open a faucet up in the basement it still won't drain the tank. That's why there is a drain cock on the tank. The Dip Tube (that goes to the bottom of the tank) is only on the cold water side. The Hot water egresses through the threaded orifice in the top of said tank. So not only must you overcome vacuum lock, but you'd have to push the water UP and out of the tank through the plumbing. The only way you'd be able to drain such a tank
