You are cute beyond belief! Feel better!!!

I used to love the show in the first season. But then I got tired of the same basic plot - over and over and over again. House is rude to staff, Cuddy threatens to fire him, someone says something random that turns the lightbulb on inside his head, House solves the problem, House is a hero. Rinse. Repeat.

Talking to kids about family history of disease.

I would tell your children as soon as you feel they are mature enough to handle the information. You can make the information age-appropriate. For example: My sister has rheumatoid arthritis. She has a 3-yr-old daughter who didn't understand why mommy couldn't chase/play/climb/etc with her. So my sister told her that "mommy has 'boo-boos'" and that seems to be enough of an answer for her. For right now, at least. When she starts asking more questions, my sister will go into more detail with her. -
She was really good!!!

All the commercials SUCKED, plain and simple! I was very disappointed this year.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. But you are better off without him if this is how he treats you. Enjoy being on your own for a little while. Then find someone who will treat you like the Queen that you are.

I am guessing that there is more to this story than meets the eye. The family has to have some reason to be concerned, beyond thinking that Megan just wanted to run away for a while. My family would be frantic and trying everything they could to find me, too. Although I doubt know if going to school would be on that list... Let me just state for the record that I am 36 and if for some crazy reason I ever go missing, someone better put a BOLO out for me ASAP because it is not by choice! With all these (mostly) women who go randomly missing these days, you never know - it could happen to

Thank you so much!

Thanks for the info! Is this for all the branches or just the main Dallas location?

Physician's Immediate Med was the worst one I have ever used. I went to Acworth Immediate Care (on the corner of Cedarcrest Rd and 41, in the Governor's Medical Center behind Rite Aid and Bank of America) and they were AWESOME. Not to mention that I went in on a Sunday night, 10 minutes before they were closing, needing an x-ray and a cast. They were super nice, patient, and very kind. I would go there again in a heartbeat!!!

I have also tried spraying my ankle with the liquid bandage stuff before wearing new shoes. Just make sure that it dries first! It doesn't do a whole lot, but it does give a little bit of a barrier!

Football Game tomorrow AFC @ 3pm on CBS - NFC @ 6:30 on Fox

I couldn't care less about football, honestly. But if I had to pick, I'd want the NY Giants to win since I am from NY and the Falcons aren't in it. I also want the Ravens to lose miserably because my SIL's live in Maryland and they are the most obnoxious Ravens fans ever. Is that reason enough? My secret to picking the winning team is whoever has the best uniforms. Seriously. It's such a "girl" thing, but it works every time! I don't know what their uniforms look like though, so I guess I will have to google it. -
Paula Deen Teams With Drug Maker Novo Nordisk
Christine0402 replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I took Victoza for about 2 months. The drug REALLY does work. I took it off-label, meaning that it is designed for Type @'s but I took it as a Type 1. Prescribed by my doctor, of course. It prevented my blood sugars from spiking after meals, and it also zapped my appetite in half, causing me to eat much less. In that respect, it was a miracle drug for me! My stomach empties way too fast and I was hungry all the time, even immediately after eating a large meal. Victoza did wonders for me. However, the drug itself scares me half to death. Thryoid cancer? Tumors? No thanks. I don't ev -
I don't know if it is related, but this morning they were moving two mobile home-type buildings down Cedarcrest Rd, South on 41, and then up 92. That was at 10am this morning. I have no idea where they were headed, but there were police escorts with flashing lights and the procession was moving VERY slowly. They had shut down the roads in both directions as they moved. I imagine that it would have taken them until 10:30 or so to get to the Crossroads. And they probably couldn't just take Cedarcrest all the way because there is a section with a very steep hill that the mobile homes surely

Paula Deen Teams With Drug Maker Novo Nordisk
Christine0402 replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Paula Deen disgusts me, and I hate the fact that she now has diabetes because now she is the current "face" of diabetes. For her to team up with Novo Nordisk is so ironic to me because her cooking show does NOTHING to promote healthy eating. Not to say that she has to promote the low carb / low sugar / low fat lifestyle, but it is hypocritical to me to cook with globs of butter and sugar and then put on the healthy "hat" when you talk out of the other side of your mouth. There is so much confusion and misunderstanding when it comes to type I diabetes versus type II diabetes (yes, they are v -
Thank you kindly for the information!

Wow! You've had quite the bumpy road yourself then! The prednisone raises your blood sugar a lot, for a period of about 10-12 hours after you take it. I know because I also have a rare disease known as Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency) and must take a daily dose of prednisone (and florinef) to treat it. That is half my problem with my high blood sugars, I think. The medicines contraindicate each other - just my luck! I don't have the best eating habits either (see: my scale) but I try my best. I hope that you test your blood sugar at home - even periodically. Type II diabetes does it'

Good Lord! 14.2?!?! I thought the 11.2 I had recently was high! I'm hovering around 8.8 and that is waaaaay too high. I'm working so hard to get it down but it is just so high. SS, how long have you been Type I? I was diagnosed in May 1985, a month after my 10th birthday. It's been a long and bumpy road for me.

I am a Type I diabetic. I don't think that a 6.3 is outlandish, but it is higher than what it should be. I would be more concerned if her A1c suddenly spiked to that number or if her number was constantly trending upward. A no-carb diet is a bit extreme in my opinion. I would recommend a balanced diet that is very light on the carbs. Try to avoid simple carbs (bread, pasta, cereal, goodies) and stick to the complex carbs (fruit, veggies, brown rice, multigrain bread). The simple carbs break down and turn into sugar too fast in your blood and don't give whatever insulin is still being made time

I have not read the book (shame on me!) but I did watch the show. I really liked it, and so did my husband. I will continue watching!

I met him once and he seemed really nice and very professional. Good luck, Sgt Gurley! Do us proud!

Wow!!! I'm glad we filled up at $3.18 then. Jeez!

Too late. The QT on 41 / Lake Acworth Dr is already up to $3.18. Sorry.
