  1. Weird to me, too! I would never dream of taking my kids there (if I had any, that is)!
  2. I watched last week's AI - the boys' performance - on the DVR last night, and I was mortified. They were *AWFUL*, every last one of them. I was actually getting cranky and irritated watching it. I wanted to change the channel but my husband was watching. The worst one was the girl, I mean boy, trying to sing Adele. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to stomach the girls singing. Reminded me very quickly why I haven't watched the past 2 years. The judges were gushing and blowing tons of smoke. At this point I don't even think that Simon could help.
  3. They also advertise --- "Who want's to cook after being off all week?? Tonight at the Tavern Kids EAT FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. From 4 to close 11 and under." ---- http://www.facebook.com/CedarcrestTavern
  4. According to the Tavern's FB posts, they encourage children, touting that they have tv's at each table for kids to watch cartoons while they wait for their food and eat. I am in complete agreeance that kids don't belong in a tavern, tv's or not.
  5. I had to google it, too. Wikipedia says healing time is 6-12 months, although I'm sure that is an over-generalization. In any case, I'd imagine it takes quite a while. Ouch.
  6. I do online surveys to rack up points for money or products. We use Coke Rewards which earns us free Cokes. We recycle like crazy, which saves us in trash bags (and helps the environment). I run my washing machine on cold water only. I only run the wash and the dishwasher when full. I don't leave lights/electronics on when I'm not in the room. We ditched our home phone line 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. We faithfully shop sales and use coupons. I rarely pay full price for anything. If I can save $0.25, I do. Hold onto your receipts. If you purchase something and it goes on sale th
  7. Tacos. Papi's meal sounds much better!
  8. What about iVillage or Fertility Friend Online?
  9. I've never been to the Whitlock Inn, but my sister got married at the Stanley House. Of course this was 8 years ago. It was a cute little wedding, but the place was very small. Parking was hard to come by. I was the matron of honor so got dropped off, but I think the fellas and guests had to park somewhere behind the building? I don't remember the place being dirty.
  10. Animal shelters often take them to line the animal cages with. I know Cobb Co Animal Shelter does.
  11. Superglue works. I used it after I sliced my finger with a pair of scissors. Just make sure that there is no bleeding and you clean (and dry) the wound carefully first.
  12. If you run out of "personal family business, doctor appts, and flat tires" and you HAVE to say something, maybe you can say that you are searching for a part-time job to supplement your income? Opinions? I'd try to schedule your interviews as close to first thing in the morning, late in the afternoon, and during lunch hour as you can. I know it's hard to do, especially with the long interviews. Having great coworkers is great and everything, but it sure doesn't pay the bills! Good luck, and I will keep you in my prayers.
  13. WOW. God bless you both. Your stories are both so touching. I am a huge believer in donating organs. Why take them with you where they will serve no purpose when you could instead save someone's life?! I'm so thankful that you have both received those gifts and I know you will cherish them forever!
  14. I'm a HUGE Edwin fan! Love him and have seen him in concert several times.
  15. I've heard drugs can make you do some crazy things, but likely there was something else going on there, too.
  16. They "said" he wasn't mentally ill, but that he was believed to be under the influence of drugs. Heh. I thought it was hilarious (assuming that there was nothing medically wrong with him).
  17. I think it is a fantastic idea. I like keeping Hershey Kisses in the house because 1 or 2 of them are the perfect amount of "sweet" to top off dinner, rather than something much bigger (and likely more delicious). I have a mouthful of sweet tooths!
  18. Praying for your niece and family!
