I don't like feeling out of control, so drugs and alcohol have no importance to me. I don't get it and by not getting it, I have no patience or sympathy for those addicted to things like herion, meth, crack, etc. I know some people think I'm too rigid in my belief, but oh well. It's weird because I'm one of the most compassionate people around, I'll help anyone, do anything, but if you're addicted to drugs, you're offf my radar and outside my circle. It's a flaw I'm sure, but after 50 years it's probably not going to change.

It's beyond me that there is such a market for heroin. Getting addicted to pain killers after an injury/surgery is one thing, but to shoot up herion is another thing all together. It's crazy.

But murders do rationalize. Once they start hiding bodies, tossing evidence, lying, running and hiding, they know exactly what they've done and are trying to cover the behind.

I agree 100% and I'm a girl, not a popular attitude I'm thinkin'. But they sure as heck wouldn't want me on a jury with a case like the one you described above.

Wasn't there a young man shot dead recently when a dad found a boy in his daughters room in the middle of the night and she said she didn't know who it was and the fact was is that it was her boyfriend? She claimed he had broken in and was assaulting her, which was a lie and her dad killed him thinking it was an intruder/rapist. It happens, but actual rapes do too. And the consequences for such a lie should be swift and severe.

Yes, yes they are. I tore my knee up and was off of it for 7 months. Recovery took over a year and I took 8 pain pills the entire time and I only took 8 because it took that long to realize that they didn't helpand they made me sick and groggy. The dr was surprised that I wouldn't even take the prescription. 30 days pain relief for a skin tag removal? That's crazy and luckily you know that. I know people, or a person, that would have taken those and run with them, giddy that they had another supply. It's out of control.

The one and only reason for all the violence, is because people are CHOOSING to commit violent crime. It's not the President, economy, their next door neighbor or their dog, it's the fact that want to do it. There isn't one single person on this board that hasn't had hard times, some way harder than others, that has taken a gun and shot up their place of employment or their school. It's all just empty, lame excuse for very bad behavior. 'Oh....my mom is sick', 'I hate the president', 'the car dealership delivered me the wrong color car', whatever. I hate this for everyone involved because of all the sorrow that is left in the wake. But unfortunately for some, compassion is hard to come by, especially is the situation doesn't touch them. I'm not included in that bunch, thankfully.

Unless her sister WANTS help, she's spinning her wheels and nothing is going to help. Your friend needs to concentrate on herself and stop aiding her sister. Unless the sister hits rock bottom, she will never get better. Been there, done that and it's the hardest thing we've ever had to do.

Yea, this is the most important thing to be taken from this topic. I shouldn't be shocked anymore by insensitive people, but I am. I expect so much more from adults, I guess that makes me the fool.
