  1. 4/26/11 IBA Supplemental Resolution with Inter gov Contract file with The Intergovernmental Agreement between IBA and County states --- Page 68 (14 Intergov Agreement)- county pays for operating, maintaining and repairing, page 68 also says that the county can but is not required to use the proceeds to pay off bonds. Look at the wording carefully,-- for any lawful purpose... It's not required!! They could use the proceeds for anything and could possibly up the millage rate, or suck it out of general fund and lay people off, cut services, etc., to pay the bond payments However, the bi
  2. All I can say is read the bond documents... taxpayers were misled by our elected officials as to who would be paying for these bonds. I hope the studio does well but those in power that misled taxpayers should be voted out.
  3. This article says that the bond for the studio will be rep-paid with proceeds garnered from the studio. http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_action=doc&p_docid=13881C59288B6CD0&p_docnum=1 However, a review of the bond documents available at one of the sites competitors indicates otherwise.
  4. They are operating on the assumption that if it is built they will come. And taxpayers were misled as to who was going to be on the hook for paying it off.
  5. Here's some links... http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/30/company-sues-ex-managers-of-new-mexico-studio/ http://blogs.wsj.com/bankruptcy/2010/07/23/albuquerque-studios-parent-sues-junior-lenders/ These folks are also managing a studio in Mississippi.. http://www.mississippilink.com/news/article_7774301a-3d01-11df-975f-001cc4c03286.html
  6. Exactly. Many bond issuances like this have the property being turned over to the entity leasing the property at the end of lease period, usually the same as when the bond is paid off. The lease payments do not appear to be going towards the repayment of the bond from what Tom Milanese explained at a recent BOC meeting. Additionally, since the property is more than likely titled to the IBA, no property taxes will be paid. So Paulding County tax payers are GIVING these people a movie studio for the hopes of a few full time jobs and bragging rights I urge everyone to google the names of the p
  7. From the comments yesterday it sounded like the guys from Road Town had some kind of connection to the good ole boy's club in the County, sounded like they might have grown up here. Then of course the property the studio is on is.. you guessed it.. so I won't have to say it...
  8. Hubby hunts in S. GA and at his camp, someone had broken into the trailers and stolen the food from all of them.
  9. Yikes! I wonder if that was at the construction site for the movie studio. The ground opening ceremony was this morning at 11:30.
  10. You could call my old pediatrician's office. They need plety of reading materials for the two hours you wait to go back to only wait another 30 minutes in a room.
  11. I follow a lot of economic blogs and sites and the stock market comes down to what Karl Denninger said the other day.. that the price of stock doesn't matter because you can play it either way. I'm WAY up for the year.
  12. I find it more than humourous that the S&P closed down 6.66%. Hmmmm, can we say rigged!!!
  13. We went to Chuckie Cheese in Kennesaw tonite. I was pretty pleased with myself for winning 100 and a couple of 25 tickets in one pop on the wheel up against the window. At the very end hubby and son were playing a riding game next to a Pirate's pinball game and I won 1200 ticketson it in one game---who knew. I couldn't believe. Son got to pick out a couple of nice prizes since we had over 1600 tickets and we ended up giving 140 tickets to a couple at the prize counter.
  14. Yep. The PE ratios are crazy. Commodities are high, but when you have investment banks like JP Morgan who are will to take physical delivery and let it sit on a leased tanker until the price is right, it is what it is.. Unless you got the time, balls and luck to play the market these days, the risk is not worth it to me. I like the ideas behind ETFs but I do not trust that the PM backed ones really have what they say they do. I really, really dislike JP Morgan- Making millions of the administration of SNAP programs for many states. The oil thing. Role in silver manipulation (short po
  15. I think things may turn around once a Republican wins the White House but I strongly suggest we may be in the Crisis stage as discussed in Strauss and Howe's Fourth Turning, which shows the cyclical economic and social cycles the Western civilization has gone through over hundreds of years. I can only hope that I can find a job in my field--Market Research to support Business Development or perhaps a low level accounting or office position at that point. I got laid off in early 09 when initial unemployment filings were in the 5 and 6 handle. Things were dead in my field in 09 and 10 and sti
  16. We bought some Blue Chip Stocks when the market tanked and made some decent money when we sold about 6 months later The stock market is nothing but a casino these days and unless you are a serious day trader playing with options, puts and reverse index funds,or get lucky and are on the winning side of the Exchange Stabilization Fund moves you will more than likely get burned. Buy and hold, in most cases, IMHO is dead unless you are long/short a few specific commodities, industries, etc. Some problems I have with wall street: Most brokers will never tell you this, you don't own the st
  17. Millions of unemployed Americans are set to roll of extended unemployment benefits by the end of the year and analysts are talking about a bleak first quarter of next year. Orders for Christmas goods are down. The report out is pretty bad-- 117,000 jobs, unemployment down from 9.2 to 9.1, except for the fact that a couple fo months ago they adjusted the labor force particpation rate down.. And the new method of calculating unemployement with a birth/death factor is speculative... Crime is only going to get worse but at least our roadways, vacant houses, etc. will be free and clear of all
  18. Just my humble opinion..... This was a mass liquidation for cash. Every index and commodity was off when I checked mid morning with the exception of cocoa.. go figure.. With Europe going from bad to worse, the DYX spiking up and the BOJ intervening in YEN/USD in the last 24 hours it may have caught some of the big boys off guard... Looks like someone may have had to cover the losing derivative position... especially on the yen carry trade...
  19. Hmm. Is Paulding going to be the eventual home to Atlanta's 2nd commercial airport?
  20. I agree completely. I plan on going next week to see our politicians lie through their teeth about how wonderful this will be.. yada yada yada.... for their developer buddies.....yada yada..
  21. The dollar index is going down. EU doing there own version of QE. Contined risk in middle east.. iranian oil bourse on Kish cranking up, and the D!@n banks and speculators screwing us over and not a darn thing the bought and paid for politicians will or can do since ICE Brent price for oil is set in London..
  22. We are having our son's birthday party in Alabama this weekend.
  23. My MIL sued the city she lived in and the city ended up settling with her because their legal council advised them this may well bankrupt them. She didn't want that of course and it worked out for her in the end.. she wanted a variance on a business license. The politicians in Paulding County are a vile bunch. I hope karma is a bitch to these folks and maybe the judgement you eventually get bankrupts the County.. Suits me just fine..My roots aren't here.. but its the politicians.. Politicians, crooked banks and derivatives have already screwed up my home town.. Jefferson County AL.. looks
  24. If I ever fly with my son, I coach him yell, "Help, help bad touch bad touch" LOL! He's a really good actor.
