  1. But Mark, a well educated, rational person such as Marvin Tingler who wants what is best for his City and all its residents poses a serious threat to TPTB that only exist to serve and promote the interests of a select few. Without that knowledge, he is dangerous, very dangerous to that group even working against them without knowing it, which will be a very good thing. I'm personally tired of the Paulding County dynasty. Vote them out of office and God forbid block them for running for higher offices which I have strong suspicion at least one of them may persue in the very near future.
  2. I'm curious to know how much the part time position of Mayor of Dallas pays.
  3. I was talking to the Jehovah Witnesses that came to my door and the elderly man was telling me that McDonald's was putting less fries in drive thru orders and to go orders based on something he had overheard at the McDonald's recently on Hwy 61.
  4. Sounds like Boyd must be really concerned about losing his job.
  5. I used to shop at the Kroger on 278 and then they opened up the Ingles on Nebo and the Food Lion. Both are pretty empty during the day its nice. Even the Food Lion is a snap to get in and out of at peak times in the afternoon and early evenings.
  6. Set up a blind trust to claim money Buy 2nd citizenship in some tax haven country Convert a lot of it to gold, platinum, etc. Invest in tax free bonds to minimize tax liability going forward, live off interest Buy multiple off grid compounds in several countries
  7. Thank you for inspiring my latest post on my website where I will use such vocabulary words as canonizing, heresy, extirpate, and epiphany.. I did quite well on the SAT actually, typing not so well.
  8. Agreed--Carbon offsets are a scam. Some of the newer composting toilets do not result in black water or greatly reduce the levels of blackwater from earlier levels. But of course, just for argument's sake, septic and sewer are no pananceas and have their pros and cons. LOL!
  9. Ever heard of solar panels? Composting toilets. I urge everyone to take a drive down to Sweetwater State Park and go in the visitors center, it has a Platinum Leeds status. Gives you an idea of what "off grid" living could look like. I work from home so I do need a computer. Unfortunately, many of the items we do use on a daily basis we are unable to buy new made from US or Fair Trade entities. If possible, we do by used. I have bought cofee makers, toasters, etc at garage sales, Goodwill you'd be suprised at what you can find. We also pay premium prices for things like Italian Sheets, etc
  10. We live according to our principles in my household. We are notconsumption oriented people. We buy as much as possible 2nd hand. Most of my furniture is antique. My cell phone that I had for 5-6 years was given to me. The battery recently died. Someone else gave me their old one. We are working towards our eventual goal of moving to a rural area with a small off the grid set up.
  11. Sorry but I don't subscribe to the philosphy of profiting off of other people's misery which is what Apple does by defacto by continuing its contract with Foxconn.
  12. I think a lot about the Foxconn employees that make Apple products that make $1 hour, work 12 hours a day or more, and are forced to sign a pledge not to commit suicide as a condition of employment. (After a rash of suicides due to poor work conditions, Foxconn placed suicide nets on top of their buildings to keep their employees form jumping off the buildings where they work and live.) Meanwhile, the I-Phone has a 60% profit margin while there is only around $9 of labor costs in it...
  13. Would be interested in mornings.
  14. Ours broke a couple weeks ago and we ordered the replacement spring- around $100 and hubby and I placed the spring back in the tube and he hung it up. Wasn't too bad.
  15. With inflation at its current rate... she's just barely keeping up with her purchasing power
  16. If I go with the "Why are they touching my penis line, I'll answer him by saying loudly it makes the gov't feeling safer now that they have touched yours.... we teach our child the correct terms for all anatomy parts...
  17. Taking my son down to the beach for a few days and this will be his 1st airline trip. I feel the need to prepare him in the event of being molested by TSA. So which one of these should I prompt him to say, he's 4: Help! Help! someone's touching my private area or Why are touching my p****? Other suggestions?
