How is Beverly difficult to find? She's on Facebook, has a website and her cell phone number is listed. Why not pick up the phone and call her?

Whitey- Were you a fly on the wall at the BOC office? How do you know she didn't voice her opinion concerning and opposition to the tax increases? You keep harping on why didn't she speak out against these increases, but tell me when would have been an appropriate time for her to do so? You've been to enough BOC meetings to know when it was appropriate to for the County Clerk to speak. Many government employees will have opposing viewpoints to the elected opinions, how vocal do you expect them to be without losing their jobs? Has it ever occured to any of you that perhaps Beverly saw

which candidate will provide the jobs?
winston1972 replied to Ultra Conservative's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Part of my problems with politicians is they say what YOU the voter want to hear and often cannot deliver on those promises. We all know that jobs are the hot button issue, but for those that have worked in the development arena (and I have). Paulding County has many disadvantages in being able to attract industry: Lack of quality land to build on: A large part of Paulding County is topographically unsuitable for large scale development. Land that is suitable for development (flat, with sewer access- such as the houses on 278 across from 278 and the new DR Horton s/d built further down -
Can someone ask Chairman Austin to chase this one down?

My dislike of the man is well known but heck-- if he could pull that off, I'd vote for him. -
When we lived in another state, a grocery store we shopped at had parking spaces that were right up against the store (you took 5 steps out of the car and you were in the store) most of which were handicapped. We saw this teenager pull up into one the handicapped spaces as we were walking out and and said something to him about parking there. He said I'll just be a minute. As soon as he was inside and we were pulling out the parking lot, we saw a cop and waved him down and told him about the kid. We saw the police officer writing up a ticket right as the kid came out of the store... I think th

Heading over there tomorrow to vote for Beverly and Donovan.

My understanding is that Bill Carruth hired her and she worked for him during his term. Jerry saw that she was a capable employee and kept her and didn't see the need to clean house and bring in all his cronies like David Austin who I beleive brought in four employees within 2-3 months after coming into office from a local engineering firm specializing in water and sewer work.

David Austin did not show up to at least one debate with Jerry Shearin. If I'm not mistaken, he didn't show up for the big one at Chathahoochee Tech....

Outback used to have crab/lobster cakes and lamb chops. They are both gone now... -
It's probably the only school in the nation that encourages the mispelling of their own mascot "Dawgs". What's with that seriously? There has to be a story behind it..

I've got plenty of popcorn ready for the fireworks to start appearing in the next few days on several races.

Early voting for the August 10th runoff starts today at the Gov't complex. I believe there are extended hours Tuesday and Thursday but have not confirmed the hours.

I had the pleasure several years ago to visit the museum in St. Pete and had a fabulous docent giving the tour. I'll check out the info on the exhibit at the High and may go... Thanks!! -

Based on early voting counts and voter turnout by 9:30 this morning, they were estimating a voter turnout in Paulding of somewhere between 7-14%. That's just plain pathetic!! -
I don't understand why candidates can't stick to the issues and resort to these kind of tactics unless perhaps the issues are a secondary reason why they are running...

I'm SICK of political recorded phone messages!
winston1972 replied to Taylor's P.A.L.S.'s topic in RECENT TOPICS
I hate them too. I came home yesterday and had 7 messages and they were all political robo calls. I love the last one I got last night from the tea party asking me to vote tomorrow and vote the bums out. I did just that and will continue to do so come November. -
Anyone see this article about Steve Golden?

I heard Avery speak and i'll be backing him.. -
LOL! The rumors about Jerry I was referring to were much more unsavory than that..

I think this is just the kind of post Pubby was alluding to. I know both candidates and am aware of what the allegations are and can make an educated guess as to what you are alluding to about Todd. I have no idea if any of the allegations against either candidate are true but these kind of allegations can do much more damage than cause a candidate to lose an election and it crosses the line-- it can literally destroy families..

I noticed that too!

As I stated previously, I liked Handel but ended up voting for my 2nd choice, Johnson because of the Palin call. After I got the mailer, I wished I had voted for her. she will get one vote out of out household because of the mailer though!!!
-
The timing is very coincidental for allegations to be made and an investigation following. Weren't there allegations made against Shearin the weekend before the election also???
-
Dang - Just got a call from Gov Palin herself! - Wow!
winston1972 replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I was seriously considering voting for Handel in the primary but I detest Palin so I'll vote for someone else, more than likely Johnson. I'll vote a straight ticket for another Party in November but I like to vote in the Republican Primary to have a say in local politics...
