  1. This covers a couple of topics mentioned in this thread. Sorry it took me a few minutes to post. My head is dizzy from all the spinning. Romans 13:1-7 (NIV) 1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to b
  2. That does make a difference! Given that info, I don't think the witnesses that place him at the Hiram jobsite are correct. He wouldn't have had time, would he?
  3. We are going to my Mom's house on Thursday. It's the first time in a long time that EVERYBODY will be together (my husband is soooo excited!) Friday we are having Thanksgiving with my in-laws (his family.) But, since we'll all be full of turkey, we'll be thankful for lasagna. I'm hoping that sometime that weekend, we'll make it to Tennessee to see my Dad, too!
  4. I thought so, too, but when I look at the picture when he is finally parked, I couldn't see a silhouette of anyone in the passenger seat.
  5. There is, but it doesn't go into effect until 11 or 12 (can't remember!) Sorry!
  6. I will be praying for you and Mrs. C. It's really tough to go through.
  7. I did. I had worn them for so long, that I had to wear my glasses for 3 months before they would do the procedure (to allow my eyes to "reshape".) Again, I didn't have lasik, I had ICL implants and then PRK. But it would have been the same requirement. That was the worst part! I hated my glasses. But I'm so glad I did it!!!
  8. Just listening to the scanner. The dispatcher gave the deputy the address to meet with a complainant (not really paying attention so I don't have details) and the deputy replied, "I'm aware of where they live." I'm just thinkin' that's prolly not good!
  9. English peas? 'Cause THAT is my EXACT favorite meal!!! I'm jealous!!!
  10. I have so many, it's hard to pick one out! But here goes....when eating colored candy (skittles, M&Ms, etc.) I have to eat them in a pattern, by color.
  11. My answer has absolutely nothing to do with your post, I just wanted to make you feel good about yourself! For me, it's procrastination. I'm just puttin' off all the stuff I really gotta get done!
  12. I love Schlotzky's too! Where is the closest one now?
  13. Pubby, I'm praying for your family through this difficult time. May He grant you all peace.
  14. My prayers are with you, Paulding Mom (and dcbrown72)! You're posts are always inspiring, and I know you will beat this!
  15. Um, you're supposed to sing "Dixieland". JK
  16. Aw, have fun! I love the train ride there. We haven't done it since the 10yo was about a year old. My weekend plans - sleep - since I've just been diagnosed with mono - AGAIN! Ugh!
  17. This is a classic example of the government stepping in to make decisions for the populace, thereby making them more dependent on the government. What's behind this? Toys were initially put into kids' meals to market them to the children. Their thinking is that children will pressure parents into buying the meals to get a toy. In my family, my child can beg all he wants. If he's had too much junk food, my reply to his request is "No." It's a concept many parents need to learn. The fact that children are deciding for themselves what they want to eat (AND THAT PARENTS ARE ALLOWING
  18. I LOVE DC Bank!!! We've been with them for over 4 years - after leaving our own bank that kept changing due to corporate demands. I can't even begin to tell you how great they are!!!
  19. DH waited there about 45 minutes earlier today (about 11:30.)
  20. I agree wholeheartedly. The thing that has plagued me the most about this election has been the disunity in our community. We really all should be coming together! It's so nice to see (as I've been noticing) us reaching out to each other and bridging our differences for what really matters.
  21. I know it's easy for me to say sitting at my laptop, but thank you all soooo much for sacrificing your time to wait this extra time to vote! I heard on one of the local stations that they are predicting voter turnout may be as high as 40-45%. That is incredible! I'm so glad to see so many people getting involved in these important races, and allowing their voices to be heard! :clapping: :clapping:
  22. We all know how secretive this project has been. Where did you get this picture? Wikileaks?!?! I'm not surprised construction is finally back on track. I had heard that funding for it was written into the health care bill.
  23. So glad I voted early! In and out in 5 minutes flat! (But thank you to ALL of you who are taking the time today to vote even though it may be inconvenient!)
