Thanks for sharing this! I love stories about kids and the things they say. My little boy never disappoints, either! We were out at dinner while on vacation once when mine asked, "What is fire?" I didn't quite know how to answer, so I asked what he meant. He said, "What is fire? Like solid, liquid, or gas? I mean, I know it can't be solid or liquid, but is it gas?" HE WAS FIVE! We just sat there shaking our heads. Mine loves Weather Channel. He watches it all the time, and even has something downloaded on the Wii about it. He gives me weather updates at least twice a day!

The owner of PKU is a friend of ours. She and her husband are great people. I don't have young ones, but I've been inside the center many times, and I highly recommend them!

I just tried to give a "positive" to a post in another thread. It won't let me, because I've used them all up. Then I realized that in the last 2 or 3 days, I've used them all (well, all but one, because I gave one to LTD) for the same poster. So....here's to you, CeeJay! I like what you have to say!

Not anymore! I'm usually at the office. My son was bitten, and I took him to the doctor. I had to drop him at a friend's house, so I went up 92. Then we were caught in all of that. It had apparently happened just minutes before. I imagine the traffic now is much worse.

There is training at Moses this morning. I'm certain that's what it is, because the channel is carrying on all other regular traffic. If it was an emergency, I'm sure it would have been cleared for emergency traffic only.

I've been away from the office, so I haven't listened to all the scanner traffic yet. As far as I know, ALL employees were locked in the vault, and therefore, are safe! The suspect hasn't been caught. They are going to review video tapes and look for other evidence. Apparently someone saw him leave the scene, because they knew he had a black trashcan and a zip up bag.

RBC. One officer was almost at the bank as the call came in. It couldn't have been more than 2 minutes until they were inside, but the perp was gone.

The employees were locked in the vault. Officers have cleared the bank, so the suspect is on the loose.

My ex-husband is a trooper. A parent did this to him one time, telling her child (who was just a little rambunctious) that he would take the child to jail for acting up. He bent down to the child and told him that he was his friend, he was always there to help him, and he would never take a child to jail. He then stood up and told the mother that he WOULD take a parent to jail for not properly caring for her child.

It is NOT something I would do. I want my children to respect and appreciate LEOs. I've never had a problem with disciplining my own child (and sometimes it takes a little more creativity to find what works.) With that said, I don't condemn the mother. At least she was trying SOMETHING. So many parents just give up, and don't look for solutions at all. But I do think while her motive may have been good, the means was a little off. JMO

It was really interesting to listen to this unfold, as the dispatcher could give exact location and speed of the getaway car. It took awhile for them to get a vehicle since no one had seen them leave. The officers at the bank had to review the security tape to get a description, and said the car was a dark colored SUV. There were several times that the GPS showed the vehicle stationary in a residential area. At one point GSP was said to be in a footchase with a man around Six Flags Dr. (if I remember correctly.) I came into this call late. (My scanner was muted for a phone call.) Apparently, one of the banks on 278 in Hiram was robbed, and our deputies are in pursuit. There must be some kind of tracking device in the bag, because they know right where he is, but don't have a vehicle description. Go get 'em!!!

My mom just renewed her notary yesterday. I can't remember now if she said it was $30 or $50, but she said it was so expensive now that she'd have to charge her friends now!

This is so true, and it is refreshing! After having to make choices between candidates who don't seem at all qualified (on every level of politics) I'm pleased to be able to find a candidate that I can support 100%, among others who also seem committed to do an excellent job!
