  1. I bought my berries on Saturday. They were average sized and very red, but not too ripe (I did pick through the cartons to make sure I got a good bunch, but I do that at any store I shop at). I didn't see any small, green berries. My concern was if they would not be too ripe to last a few days if I didn't use them right away. >>shrug<< Maybe they had a new batch of berries on Sunday?
  2. + 1000 I get irritated that folks want to make this about something that it's completely NOT about. It was disgraceful to alter the flag like that. It doesn't matter whose picture replaced the proper decor. It shouldn't be political at all. I would guess that Obama would find it distasteful and rude as well. Some folks just need to get beyond their hate.
  3. Whether it's central or south FL, I do believe it's still AMERICAN. (PS: It's East of Tampa, about 35 miles or so from the Bay.) And those strawberries were S-W-E-E-T!!
  4. I don;t think the kids should get off with no consequence. Prank or not, what they did was ILLEGAL. Under state law, that crime is a felony. I don't find it reasonable to hang a felony around the neck of a 17-18 y/o kid for graffiti. I just don't think the life-long implications of being convicted of a felony rise to the level of THIS particular crime. Punishment? HELL YES. A life-altering felony conviction? No. I just don't think that's a reasonable punishment. As others have said, in this thread (I think) and in the other one about this topic, most if not all of us did
  5. Ours, too! I made strawberry shortcake, and the berries were sweet, juicy, YUMMY, and $.69 for a big carton. I also bought 5# of grapefruit for $.99, one of which I had for breakfast this morning. It was SO GOOD! And there are 5 more left in the bag. At 16.5 cents each, I am plenty happy!
  6. We went over there today and picked up a few things. It's a big sale. We'll also be meeting with one of the groups early this next week to give them some things we offered today for donation.
  7. I went this afternoon, and though it was TOO BUSY, I still did really well and am SO PLEASED they have come here! And that store is about 2 miles or so from my house--closer than any other store. Tonight I made dinner with my Aldi purchases I made today. Let me tell you about it? I bought the following: Garlic Alfredo sauce in a jar--don't remember the exact price, but it was less than $2. 3-pack of multi-colored bell peppers. Wide egg noodles, 16 oz bag for $.99. Small bag of mixed green salad, $.79. 16 oz jar of Greek salad dressing, $.99. Bag of medium shrimp
  8. "...which we know was in reference to another thread..." I honestly have absolutely no idea what you are referring to. Have a nice day!
  9. I think she's freaking adorable, and I hope she's the exception to the lottery winners' "rule." She didn't name the trust after a friend who was eating sherbet...she bought the ticket when her son stopped at a local supermarket to buy his favorite sweet treat--rainbow sherbet. She named the trust she set up the Rainbow Sherbet Trust, in honor of what led her to buy the ticket. She was smart enough to hide her winning ticket in her bible and get financial advice about the trust before she claimed her winnings. And I hope she keeps on winning. I adore her spunk and cleverness.
  10. I respect that. I hope they can get whatever they need to take care of their kids. I hope for your SIL, it's a good, stable job. Because in order to buy insurance through an employer, one first must be employed.
  11. I'm guessing there are lots and lots of young moms who would like to "spend as much one-on-one time with" their kids as they can as well, but who realize that they also need to FEED and CLOTHE and take those kids to the Dr. when needed and so, like it or not, work full-time jobs to support the children they brought into this world instead of spending 2 years trying to get the government (through DFCS) to support their kids. Just sayin.'
  12. It's always a sweet feeling when someone genuinely says "Bless You," especially when it's unexpected in context. We agree on that. I think what folks were talking about in this thread wasn't when someone new to the board pulls up an OLD post with something relevant to the topic. That happens sometimes. I know I did it myself when I FIRST came to this board and I hadn't yet figured out how it works. I >>think<< what folks are talking about in this thread is completely different. The topic here is when folks come in and vote on REALLY OLD polls that were never closed, making
  13. I'm sorry they are having such a struggle with finding jobs they are qualified for. It's great that they have you to carry them through while they struggle to find employers who will appreciate their marketable skills.
  14. Granted, I have only been to the seafood market in Villa Rica ONCE...but the ONE time I was in there, the overwhelming smell of old, fishy fish was SO STRONG, I'm fairly certain I will never go back. Maybe I was just there on an off day, because I hear people mention it often...but it was just fishy-stinky the one time I went there. It was a complete no-go, and I left (rather quickly) without buying anything. Harry's ROCKS for fresh seafood, but you pay $$$ for the quality and the freshness.
  15. <whisper> That's not what folks in this thread are talking about. </whisper>
  16. Is someone getting a job to pay for the needed immunization completely out of the question?
  17. I always pay with a debit card when I go to Aldi. Never had a problem. I don't use credit cards. Ever.
  18. No, I haven't, but I'll research it this morning. Thanks!
  19. She apparently lacks any personal integrity. Sad.
  20. And I guess that really does depend on what you're trying to do. It's contextual. For me? It's been a hassle to get things to the iPads (into iBooks) of folks who don't have company email accounts. If you're just be-bopping along with your own stuff and no concern about a larger distribution, then I'm sure you're peachy with the iPad and no USB. We're not all on that same page. In any case, I do think the new iPad HD is cool.
  21. Your daughter is adorable. It would be nice if they showed a "good" side to pageants. I'm sure there must be one, but that show typically shows only the worst drama from some really questionable people. I hope they don't make you look bad in their editing. Remind us when it airs!!
  22. Was this for a local pageant? Folks do seem to love some GA pageant drama!!
  23. Why would anyone bash before they see the episode?
