  1. So other than emergencies, what else do you use OnStar for? I thought it was just for emergency situations.
  2. Get insurance before you seek testing or treatment.
  3. Someone told me that you could make cauliflower the same as mashed potatoes and they taste about the same. I myself am a very picky eater but am trying to eat more vegetables, so we tried it last night, and...it was fabulous! It tasted just like mashed potatoes, even a little better! I can't tell you how surprised I was. The texture is a little different, but palletable. Take 1 head of califlower. Cut into smaller florettes and boil until soft (like you would potatoes). Drain and mash just like potatoes. I think if you put them in a blender or food processor instead of mashing it
  4. Family member, yes. Friend, depends on who the friend is.
  5. I was at work (law firm) and we were listening to the radio when the first plane hit. We thought it was some kind of sick radio gag at first because it sounded so outrageous. Then the entire office piled into the office manager's office to watch the live stream online and saw the second plane hit. I remember we were all debating about how big the planes were and I don't think anyone could confirm at that time. I think we all thought it was a little puddle jumper. Someone went home and got a TV and that's all we did the rest of the day - we were glued to the television. I
  6. I guess I'd have to see both properties to weigh the pros and cons of each. I like the idea of the larger parcel, though.
  7. I do use plastic baskets under the sink (kitchen and bath) to keep like items together. I get the plastic rectangular "baskets" like you can get at Walmart (I have seen them at the $ store, too). They are sort of like these, but cheaper: I use smaller ones in the drawers as well. I bought a pack of them at Walmart that has various sizes. I keep eye makeup in one, lipsticks in another, nail maintenance / polish in another. It keeps them organized and from rolling around in the drawer. Same thing with hair doo-dads.
  8. I figured it would be to do a chart or graph.
  9. I've never even heard of them, but I just now looked at their site. Seems like they are a bit pricey for costume jewelry. I wouldn't pay those prices.
  10. I don't watch much tv and think life would be much better without it. It's mostly rubbish anyway. Next would be my cell phone. I really don't use it that much. I think it would be a frustrating transition losing the convenience of it, but I lived without one before...
  11. If you can keep this bumped up each day, I'll remember to vote, otherwise I'll probably forget.
  12. There used to be one on 278 in an industrial park. If you t/r on 278 from 120 you go down and make a U-turn at the first break in the median; t/r into the industrial park; go to the back and t/r at the last right and they were the last suite on the left. It has been a couple years since we went so who knows if they are still there or not. Impossible Skatepark 260 International Pkwy Dallas, GA 30157 (770) 505-7758
  13. I have seen them at thrift stores like Goodwill. Also, the library has them to borrow for free. The Cobb County public library system will have their bi-annual book sale in October. They usually have a fairly good selection then.
  14. I was out at lunch and noticed the sign and thought I would post it. I hope it's ok to post the name, if not, I'm sure the mods will take care of it. Sound Sensations has a 'now hiring' sign at the curb. This place seems to do car stereos and home theaters and stuff. I've never been in there.
  15. I got to thinking, have you tried Craigslist? With the economy, people may be cleaning out to make extra cash.
  16. It could be management or family parking there.
  17. ""I told him this flag protected me in Vietnam and I will see that it protects you," said Haros, a former master sergeant in the U.S. Army..." This part got me. I am not sure if he meant 'this exact flag' or generally speaking. If he meant that particular flag had been flown for him in Vietnam, it definitely is symbolic.
  18. I suppose so. Some notice is better than no notice.
  19. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/20257540/detail.html The job fair will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Job seekers may pre-register for the event online. Some of Atlanta's top employers will be hiring for positions in all industries. Admission is free, and there also will be free resume review services. Apologies if this has already been posted - I'm not on often enough to have seen it. I heard about it on the radio late last night.
  20. I am terribly uncoordinated and clumsy. I think this would result in a trip to the ER for me.

    hiccups

I'm 31. I get hiccups at least once a month and always have. I got them twice on Saturday. The hiccups I get are the kind that go on and on and on, for at least 15 minutes. The kind that are noisy and irritating. Anyone else get these as an adult? I've heard all kinds of weird stuff as remedies for hiccups. Drink water from the opposite side of a cup. Eat peanut butter. Light a match and douse it in a cup of water, then drink the water. Hold your breath. What works?
  22. Wow! Congratulations on a job well done! That looks wonderful.
