  1. Well, it's Thursday. What is it?!?!
  2. How does your kitty handle a short car trip? Our kitty doesn't like car travel AT ALL. For her, I have to put her in a small carrier. If I had to travel with her for a long trip, I would probably see about some sedation, too.
  3. Our previous neighbor was a sheetrocker. I asked him to bring me some empty buckets from the jobsite one time so I could make container gardens. He brought me several, one had the lid on. I pulled off the lid and about lost my lunch. The bucket had been used as a job-site potty, sealed and cooked in the hot sun. I'm sure it wasn't my neighbor (at least I hope it wasn't), I think at the end of the day, he just grabbed a couple buckets to bring home. Anyway - check with construction sites, just becareful about the ones that have the lids on them.
  4. I'm glad this came back up. I was meaning to post but don't have good luck searching for topics. I don't have fibro, but the day after the thread on this, ironically my SIL brought up that had been diagnosed with it. The conversation came about because I was telling her that I was trying a chiropracter to see if that would help my chronic headaches and neck/shoulder pain and brought up accupuncture as a side. She said that she has been seeing an accupuncturist for pain management from her fibro. My SIL said that her doctor was seconarily trained in accupuncture because her Dr. was int
  5. There are some really good responses here. For me, my comfort levels are different. For now, I am perfectly fine with my size and have come to embrace it. I could definitely stand to lose about 30 or so pounds to be what I think would be my "ideal" size, which would be around an 8 (I'm currently a 12, going on 14). By genetics, I have the same build as my mother and I think she looks great. I think the older I am getting (I am 31) the more comfortable I am in my skin. I do get frustrated with clothes, though. When I was smaller, I had no problems finding clothes that fit well a
  6. My commute went from 18 miles / 45ish minutes to 4 miles / 10ish minutes. A shorter commute definitely improves the quality of life!
  7. I guess I don't get what the big deal is about these polls popping up.
  8. Good call. The picture doesn't show how steep of a step that is either. If I was the young lady in the picture, I would be mortified that the media was using my picture in this way.
  9. I get regular headaches/migraines. I think I have a muscle tension issue. I'm trying the chiropractor and I think it's helping a little, but not enough to justify the expense.
  10. It's probably because the glass is tempered and the way the glass is framed causes it to "explode".
  11. I've been on both sides of the coin on this. I grew up off Whitlock and have a fondness for the area already; then we lived in Paulding for ten years and I did the commute M-F, 52 weeks out of each year; now I live off Whitlock again. While commuting, I wished Marietta would widen Whitlock. I have always worked off the Square and Whitlock has always been the most direct route for me. Taking EWC to Barrett was an alternative, but it's heavily congested as well as BH, Stilesboro, etc., plus it was way out of my way. I don't know what NIMBY is, so I can't speak there. I'm sure t
  12. I live off Whitlock now. Last year, we attended a City Counsel meeting about widening Whitlock to accommodate the in-flow of traffic or alternatives thereto. The best idea I heard was from a resident that suggested that Whitlock not be widened, but make the travel harder - take out lights, add stop signs, add speed bumps - overall make it miserable to travel Whitlock. After time, people will start using the E/W Connector as it was intended to be used and stop squeezing down Whitlock. Bottom line, I don't think Whitlock will ever be widened - the residents of Marietta will put up too much o
  13. I didn't vote, because I don't live in Paulding anymore and I didn't want to skew your results; however, I wanted to comment. We lived in Paulding for ten years. We moved two years ago this coming August. I commuted to the Marietta Square every work day for those ten years and it got to be too much - so we moved back to Marietta. When we lived in Marietta, it would take me 45 minutes to an hour to get to the Mtta Square each way. I would have liked to have had alternate travel options such as a bus or light rail or something. We found that Paulding was growing, but in all the wrong
  14. I haven't read all the responses, but what about something like Purls 4 You or Purls of Wisdom. Isn't a Purl a stitch or something?
  15. I think if you don't pay your bill, they should be able to repo your car whenever, where ever. So if you work at a school and you don't pay your bill, it's your own fault for the car being repo-ed.
  16. We were friends of his from high school. We had a lot of good times with Brian.
  17. Brian was a good guy. It's a complete shock; especially since he was so young.
