I had a BB gun for as long as I can remember. I got my first 22 at 12 years old for Christmas. We always had guns in the house and was permitted to shoot them.

I think you should always offer to help, whether you were invited or not. I wouldn't expect a houseguest to help if they are only there for a couple of days, however if they are going to be there for an extented stay, then certain chores should be done to kinda "pay your way" and to just help out.

If Paulding County banned them, we'd just drive to Douglas or Cobb to get them...I'm sure folks up north are smart enough to just get them elsewhere. Actually, it is kinda dumb to buy bottled water at a convenience store at $1.25 a bottle when you can get it at Sam's for 14 cents per bottle.

I purchased a $40 printer for my computer the other day. They wanted to know if I would like to add a two year full replacement plan...I told them "no, at $40, I can afford to just buy another one when this one craps out." Cheap products have their advantages too.

Once the gunman got control of the weapon, does it really matter where he got it? The bottom line is, he was stopped with the bullet from another gun. There is no way we will "ever" end gun violence in America. The only thing we can do as citizens is try to be prepared to stop it as it happens.

This is the same tax cuts that the democrats could have made permanent, but said the US could not afford the tax cuts.... now they say Americans can't afford a tax increase. Which is it? I just find it odd that in a city that has banned (for the good of the people) larger than 16 oz soft drinks, they haven't installed guardrails with openings for the subway doors on the train. Think about it, when you buy a house that has a porch higher than 3 feet, it must have a safety rail around it. A subway has a platform that is a 4 to 5 foot drop off....with a 30 ton train coming at you at a very high rate of speed. It's just crazy! I know this topic is kind of in jest, but it just got me thinking.

The biggest problem with the rest of the worlds dental problems is they don't go to the dentist like Americans do. Hell, ask an American with rotten teeth and you will find he never visits a dentist or is smoking meth. As for obesity...get off your ass and move...especially kids. If they aren't into sports, buy an dang push mower and make'em cut the grass once a week.

This topic reminds of something that happened to a buddy of mine many years ago. Barry worked at the old Rich's on South Cobb Drive back in the mid to late 80's. One day he looked out of the warehouse door and noticed a Mercedes pulling into the handicap parking. NO. I think a mad man that is intent on killing will find a way. This idiot killed 6 & 7 year old children that were probably too scared and confused to even try and run away. I believe that "momma" is more than partially to blame. In my opinion, I don't think she bought those guns for her own protection, she bought them for her troubled little boy, to make him feel better about himself...to teach him some responsibility. He didn't have to steal them, he kept them in his room....He target practiced with them. We will find out eventually....MOMMA bought those guns for Adam Lanza.

We've heard folks say it, "Arm the teachers and administrators", but did you ever think a school system would allow it? This town is actually allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons onto school grounds. Gun Toting Teachers
