  1. My oldest sister is married to a man who is just a few years younger than our dad. I think it's weird myself. But, she is happy. She told me she is very blessed to have the relationship she does with him.
  2. I'm a year older than my hubby and we started dating in high school and been married for 21 years. When someone asks me how many children I have, I always say, "Three, unless you count my husband, then it's four." But, I have to say, he is an AWESOME and AMAZING man! 21 years have went by very fast.
  3. My 13 year old doesn't have a cell, so don't have to worry about the texting..LOL He will beg to go to her house and we keep telling him NO! You're too young. He just doesn't get it. Oh well. Mom and dad doesn't care if the kid gets it or not.
  4. We live on a 'main' road and cannot get ATT. My mom lives 5 miles from me on a back road and has had Uverse for several years. The way they are running the stuff does not make any sense to me. I asked about Uverse two days ago and was told I cannot get anything except a home phone or cell phone. Unless I wanted to get a laptop internet card, but then I'd have to go somewhere that has ATT internet to use my computer. I still couldn't use it at home. We can only get Comcast and I HATE the price! Way too high.
  5. LOL that reminds me of my 13 year olds "girlfriend." She will call every five minutes! You can hear her one the answering machine saying "hello?" Hubby and I will disconnect the phone. FYI I put "girlfriend" in quotes because, well we will not allow him to have girls over or go to a girls house yet. Too young.
  6. We had this happen last Saturday. We were trying to do down the bread aisle and people were blocking it to the point they couldn't turn around. We went around to the other end of the aisle and some had moved down to that end and was block it. You would have thought they said "SNOW" for the weekend with the amount of people on the bread aisle. We always pull our cart to the side as close as we can get so people can get by. Blocking the aisle is so annoying!
  7. LOL, I yell at my kids for this ALL the time. They say, "But you put peanut butter and jelly together anyway." I tell them, "I do not like peanut butter. And, I eat jelly on my toast. I do not want peanut butter on my toast, or potatoes, or anything else." Several years ago, my MIL stayed with us for a couple of months. One day we had tomato sandwiches for lunch. Later, I found TONS of black pepper INSIDE the mayo! I was so angry. It wasn't like I could get the pepper out. It was mixed ALL in the whole jar! Almost like she had dumped the black pepper in the jar of mayo and mixed it up.
  8. True. When we bought our house last year, it appraised for $93,000. The tax assessment was about $31,000. When we got our assessment for this year, it was lower and I called hubby freaking out. He just laughed at me and said it doesn't have any impact on market value..LOL
  9. Well, I don't know about ALL of them, but there is one who loves to break into peoples homes (regardless if someone is home or not), he also loves to shoot peoples windows out of their cars and homes. His MOM works at the juvenile detention center! This 'child' does not live in my neighborhood, but he lives in a subdivision behind mine and walks through the woods to the subdivision I live in to do his deeds.
  10. I can agree with this. About 13 to 14 years ago, my dad changed the windshield wipers on my uncles (His brother) car. One of my dads neighbors called the Marshals office saying my dad was running a mechanic shop from his yard. They Marshals office did come out, but nothing was done because it was a STUPID call. The Marshal talked with my dad and said he could not tell him who called, but he held the paper containing the name of the person who called to where my dad could see...LOL My dad already knew who it was before he saw the name though. Only one neighbor giving problems, then having the M
  11. Several years ago a friend of mine said she was driving around looking for yard sales and came across a house that had tons of furniture and things outside. She didn't see a sign, but she stopped and asked if they were having a yard sale. They said no, they were just sitting outside. She said it was enough furniture to fill a living room.
  12. LOL We used to live in an older house and it would make strange noises. When we would hear a noise we would say," Fred did it!" as a joke...LOL
  13. We've had the StraightTalk home phone for about 5 months and have not had any problems and the $15 a month isn't bad either. The only thing I have an issue with is the caller id only shows a number, no name. However, if a person is in your phone contacts on your home phone, it will show the name as well. For $15 a month you get unlimited local and long distance.
  14. I want to chime in with a question. Would you be willing to pay more for a home being lived in and taken care of, etc. than a REO? Or would the lower priced REO be more appealing because of a cheaper price? Just curious.
  15. My kids are 17, 13 and 12. I would not even consider leaving my 12 and 13 year olds alone anywhere except home for a bit. That's just me though. Mainly because I have trust issues with people I do not know. I would be worried someone would come in and take one of them or something like that. At a library, I would not expect the liberian to babysit or watch my kids for 2 minutes. That's not their job. Oh, and my 17 year old does not leave the house without his cell.
  16. WOW! I followed the link form Fox to the video and the feather should not have been a big deal at all. It's a single feather that hung from her cap with her tassels. It's not like she was wanting to wear a full head dress.
  17. Or, better yet, he can save the time and money and just accept his own resignation. He can have his sectary type it up for him and he can accept it and go away. Don't care where he goes as long as he goes away, far away.
  18. But Holder wants to investigate the DOJ himself. That would solve all his problems/s http://news.yahoo.com/video/eric-holder-investigate-justice-department-173115610.html
  19. And another reporter from either CBS or NBC (I can't remember which one exactly).
  20. I sure hope Best Buy doesn't close. Hubby is the kind of person when he wants something, he wants it right then and does not want to order off line because he has to wait. He can only find certain things at Best Buy that Walmart and other stores does not carry.
  21. The superintendent was on the news yesterday and said the 24 they thought were lost had actually been checked out early by the parents. However, 7 had drowned in the basement of one of the schools. The tornado tore the roof off, the walls fell in and busted a water main and the basement filled with water. They did not have a way out since the walls fell in. The other 2 (which makes the total 9) were already at their homes before the storm hit, so they died at home. This is such a heartbreaking tragedy.
  22. This reminds me of when I was in elementary school and the "Coke a Cola" shirts were popular. My parents would not buy me one no matter how much I begged. My dad said he was not going to pay Coke for advertisement. They did buy me a shirt made in the same manner (white with a colored wide stripe going across the middle of the shirt) but it did not have any type of writing on it.
  23. Luckily my boys do not like their clothes. Plus, I will not pay those prices! I keep my shopping for clothes at Kohls. They have awesome sales!
  24. I didn't see any bags, other than the ones I gave, in our subdivision either.
  25. I put mine out by the mailbox. I had more than one bag, so they wouldn't go on the mailbox. I put a note inside the mailbox with the flag up letting the carrier know the bags were being donated. She just ran a few minutes ago and did take all the bags!!! Last time I just sat the bag out by the box and she didn't pick it up. I had to wait for her to come back by on her way out of the subdivision and give the bag to her. I guess she didn't see it. This time, the note inside the mailbox worked great!
