When we first got married we got a black lab. She did not like strangers, but after she met you once she was fine with you. However, one of our neighbors, who came over to talk to my husband often, she never was ok with. She would growl at him every time she saw him. We couldn't figure out why. Then in the middle of the night one night, she started trying to dig through our living room window, she was barking loudly, digging and growling. The hairs on her neck were standing straight up. Hubby got up, opened the front door and let her out. (We did not have a gun or any type of protection at tha

Racist receipt apparently left by Red Lobster customer
blondchevygrl replied to lucky64's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I saw this with a picture of the receipt. The writing is different. The customer wrote "none" under tip amount. Where the racist slur was written the hand writing is different. -
True. I was just trying to say, not all abused children act out. They can behave in different ways.
-
I have to disagree with this part. An abused child will not always act out at school or any where else. Some abused children will be very quite and reserved wanting to avoid situations and/or people. They do not feel safe around anyone. These children will can even be afraid to ask his/her teacher a simple question even if the teacher has never had to scold the child. This child may seem shy, when they are actually scared or nervous around others.

I agree with you 100%!!

This may be controversial, but here it is anyway.

I had a high school teacher who wore a tie with the 3 Stooges on it everyday. Of course it was a different tie everyday, but ALL the ties had the 3 stooges on them. He was a cool teacher, but I can't think of his name. He also said he loved cats. Cat stew, fired cat, etc...LOL -
When we lived in Polk they had ipads even in elementary. My kids LOVED them. The teachers said they were better and came in very handy because if the kids didn't understand exactly what they were learning, they had the ability to look up specific information right then.

Bill would mean major tax increase on guns, ammo
blondchevygrl replied to lucky64's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They are going to end up causing the LEGAL gun owners to purchase ammo through illegal ways. But, I do not think the bill will pass. -

When my husbands job renewed their insurance in Jan. the price was cut some, but they are covered less. One example we noticed pretty quick was, he is not covered for Urgent Care when he was before Jan. this year. His insurance will not pay a dime to Urgent Care. It also paid less when he had to go to the ER due to an eye injury. We had to pay out more than the insurance did. -
We like the Geico commercial with the owls. Simply because if my hubby is watching tv and not paying attention to things being said by one of the kids, he will respond, just about every time, "Who?" He will keep saying "Who? Who? Who?" until we tell him....LOL It's to the point my 12 year old will say "Who?" if daddy says it once...LOL

Your story reminds me of my three cousins. One cousin, Carol, was at another cousins house, Michelle. They were little and playing with dolls in Michelle's bedroom. Michelle's brother, Timmy, snuck to the bedroom door and watched them for a minute. Then all of a sudden he said, Momma!" in a little child's voice. Both girls threw the dolls and ran out of the room. Michelle said she never picked up a doll again...LOL

I have a friend who experienced something like that. What was weird though it was her daddy. He had died shortly before it happened and she woke up to being held down and saw him. She had bruises on both her arms. I saw the bruises. She has no idea why he would have held her down like that.

A few years ago we moved into a house in Rockmart. It was a very old house. We had the moving boxes scattered all over the kitchen and living room. There is a window between the kitchen and living room. I was standing in the kitchen while my husband was standing in the living room and we were talking. I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around and looked. There wasn't anything there. I turned back to my husband and he asked what was wrong. I said nothing, what were you saying? He finished what he was telling me. A few days later we were in the car and I told him what happened. He said yeah, he

I'm glad she got something, although the conspiracy to commit murder is what should have been. I agree with the poster who said this woman is evil.

I was 5, so I was older when I even heard the name Elvis and asked my parents what the big deal was. They told me who he was and how he died. They were/ are not fans of Elvis. Personally, I do not think he could sing at all. I can't stand to hear his music. I never understood how he became so famous. JMHO -
My youngest is 12. He was 7 months old when 911 happened. He has learned about all this in school from social studies and he has asked us many questions about it. If he sees someone in public wearing a burka, he freaks out. I try to explain to him they are mostly likely NOT a terrorist, but he cannot understand it. He is very aware of people around him and keeps a close eye out at all times. We saw a lady wearing a burka with jeans one day and he looked at me and said, "Mom! That woman is a terrorist!" I tried my best to tell him no she was not. He was so freaked out. He keep saying, only terr

Thank you for asking. I was wondering also...LOL Some people are not worth the air we breathe. Stealing from Churches, schools and other places is worse than stealing from private residence. Both are horrible and the thieves need to be caught and given a stiff punishment. Not just jail time, but I agree with the poster who said they should be made to work and repay for the items they stole.

We do not have smart phones, and this seems like another reason not to get one.

Ha. It would seem most of my neighbors have car payments on top of mortgage payments. (I do NOT know if they have car payments or not, but most drive newer cars/trucks/suv). NO THANK YOU. My car has always been paid off. It is not new by any means, but I do NOT want what my neighbors have, especially what their bills appear to be. I do not feel entitled to anything, but I agree with your post that a lot of people do in fact feel entitled to what anyone and everyone has that they do not have. I have heard people say they were entitled to so and so. I have noticed it also. Me, I will keep

Question @ Rape/Suicide in Seven Hills
blondchevygrl replied to Zippity Doo Dah's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Why would someone be worried about washing dishes after being put through an ordeal like that? You're right, something does not make sense. -
The video is funny. My husband doesn't mind holding my purse. He say by doing things like that it says, "Yeah! I have a woman!" lol

I never liked Oprah. In high school, my best friend watched her show all the time. The first time I spent the night with her, she watched Oprah and I thought it was just stupid. After I got married I decided to watch Oprah to see how I felt then. I never understood someone trying to tell people how to make a marriage work or how to raise their kids when they've never been married and had a child but gave it away at birth. To me, she had NO clue how to do either. So, NO Oprah for me, ever. Frankly, I think her having her own network is ridiculous.

Have you ever woke up laughing or pissed off?
blondchevygrl replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I woke up so mad the other night I could have spit nails. I have no idea what I dreamed. I didn't remember it, but it took me a few hours to fall back to sleep because I was so angry.
