  1. Yup, I met Tom Cruise in a bookstore one day and I just froze. He said Hi to me and I about fainted lol. Nicest guy, but yeah, not much to say for my part. When I lived in Cali, I sold makeup to celebrities. They put their pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. I don't care what they do in their spare time. I know Chuck Norris likes bananas .. now there's a tabloid headline lol.
  2. I have never understood any of it. Royalty, Britney Spears, Linsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen ... ect. I have never cared what others do with their life. I don't get why others are so wrapped up in it
  3. This is one of those duh moments. Sitting in general is bad for you. People need to move, it's not rocket science.
  4. I broke my addiction to chocolate a few years ago. It is pitiful what the chocolate industry is doing, I cannot support it. IMO when you purchase something, you are supporting the company, in turn supporting how they do business. This is why I am a vegan .. I am very conscious about what I eat and buy .. For if it's not in demand, and no one is making a profit .. there is hope.
  5. I've always had the mouth of the a sailor. I wouldn't know if it helps or not I know venting in general helps your body to release, as does meditation. I take 2 excedrin, put a heating pad on it, say this and go meditate .. works for me
  6. My kids actually come running inside when they see the Ice Cream truck lol. They put it in the same category as creepy clowns.
  7. I tell my kids if you act like an Ass then don't cry when you get called an Ass. That simple
  8. I am one of those folks that chose to leave the money behind. I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. Different strokes for different folks .. but I find living on less, having less stress, not " needing " allot of money is just pure awesomeness
  9. As the saying goes .. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck .. it's a Or at least it's in training to be one.
  10. I've bought local honey from Ingles in the past.
  11. The problem is greed, plain and simple. People who make more money, spend more money .. typically. Money doesn't buy you happiness .. it just makes you need to make more money. Teaching kids to live simple and be happy with what they have is the key. However, spending 100k on a useless degree, doesn't help either. They need to look at the bigger picture and make that degree pay for itself.
  12. Yup, it all starts at a young age. Who your daughters look up to is where it starts. My 18 year old daughter is wearing a bikini this summer for the first time. All of my daughters have conservative views and it comes down to who they want to look like. My younger daughters look up to their big sister ... best role model ever. exactly!
  13. The buddy system is taken very seriously in our home. I can't even run to the store without one of my teens coming along. If I say I'm going, they'll ask who's going with you ? If I say nobody .. they'll throw their shoes on and come. When they're grown and moved out, I dunno what I'll do .. it will be strange for sure.
  14. I would LOVE to freeze all of my daughters stuffed animals. I end up washing them in hot water instead. Her collection is just HUGE! It would take me a month to freeze them all. I made one small adjustment of not letting my dogs in my room. I was having serious breathing problems at night before .. and now, none. Just keeping them out of your bedroom makes a world of difference. I'll have to try that. Honey is my cure all for everything One of natures best remedies!
  15. There are allot of useless degrees out there. Another problem is flooded industries. I have told my kids, whatever degree you go with .. make sure it has a broad spectrum.
  16. I got my daughter a weeping willow tree for valentines day last year .. she loved it
  17. I have 4 teens and none of them eat any type of candy. I do energy drinks, beef jerkey, Any snacks that they may like. I always put in things that they need as well. I put a To Go phone in my one of my sons this year. One of my daughters is always borrowing my ped egg. So, I put a ped egg and other feet related things in hers. I also put swimwear in if they are in need of a new swimsuit for summer. My younger ones love taking pictures .. So I'll put a disposable camera in there. Another kid loves puzzles .. So I put a puzzle in his. We don't do candy or the easter grass. I don't waste my money
  18. I'm going to try to attend. They need all the support that they can get.
  19. My daughter attends the Art Institute of Atlanta. They offer free tutoring to those that ask for it. I would look into whether or not your son's school offers tutoring.
  20. Hormones are my guess. My teenage daughter had problems when she hit puberty. We had a ton of tests done .. just to come up empty. She's 18 now and it's still allot thinner than it used to be ... but it did stop falling out. Diet is another thing to look at. My daughter is a vegan so they did blood work for that as well. It wouldn't be anything that a multivitamin wouldn't cover. Also stress is always a factor.
  21. I know fracking is supposedly to blame for some of the earthquakes
  22. Hubby quit when he met me. He smoked for 10 years before he quit. Cold turkey and LOTS of sugarless hard candy!
  23. I just can't wrap my mind around it. I just know that I trust nobody when it comes to my kids. When the kids were smaller, we always filled their cups, ourselves. I also had Jack Daniels as a kid .. maybe that's what's wrong with me.
  24. Awesome!!!!!! And yes, even 5 pounds seems to make a big difference. I'mma Spinach and Strawberry girl lately and wow ... yeah the pounds do melt off.
