  1. My comment on The Doctor's Facebook page: Jillian Michaels needs to go back to the Biggest Looser. She needs to hush so we can hear "real" doctors on The Doctors!!!!
  2. LOL two threads about the same thing I was thinking!!! Awesome!!!
  3. I hope to be doing nothing. After last Saturday out in the wind all day....I still need a rest.
  4. I totally understand what you are saying. To reply to someone who said that the requirments for being on unemployment are stronger now (coming in once a month, reporting that they are applying for jobs) is great. It was just to easy to take the money back in the 70's.
  5. Speaking from my experience years ago and my opinion now: I was laid off from my first job in Jan 1975. I was on unemployment and enjoyed it. All I had to do was sign a form every week saying I was activily seeking employment and I got my money, about $50.00 a week. I was living at home. I don't know how long you could be on unemployment back then, but I was on it over 6 months. If it were not for my parents saying, you need to get a job I would have continued until they said I couldn't get anymore money. I guess I was lazy, but it was so easy to get. Cobb County PD was hiri

  8. All I can say is Bless their little hearts (and tummys) and love them anyway. We never really had to much problems with Bue and Scout, our first 2 jack russells, but this new one Star, she is a different story. Let's see what has she not eaten...... Food is not the problem, she can't get up to reach any food, but if we leave anything out on our end tables while we are gone, it is gone. She loves pens, pencils, chap stick, tooth pick thingys, husband's cigarette butts, klennex, and the list goes on and one. Oh pillows....we think she makes a hole in them and pulls out the stuffins bec
  9. A friend of mine posted a video where you could make a new list and include the friends you want to see status updates on. I did it and when I click on that list, my facebook looks pretty much like it did before.
  10. Mark, this is a great idea. Thanks The one on Oct 7 and 8, is that in Marietta. I saw info about one on those dates and then I lost the info.
  11. One of our favorite trips was to South Dakota. Where do I start to tell you how great it was. The Black Hills are like driving into what moon craters might look like. It is flat lands and then there they are. AWESOME!!! The Corn Palace is in a little city near Deadwood. It's a place that the entire outside is decorated with corn cobs. Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse are a must see. There are museums for both of them. Deadwood is an awesome town. It's kinda like a huge city of Helen, but with every other place is a resturant, store or casino. Wall Drugs is great. Ye
  12. I spend Monday nights with my Mama. We both hooted and hollered when Vienna and Casey were not taken to the finals. Then it got better during the live show. When Casey was telling Jake he was sorry, gave him a hug and a handshake, we loved it. If looks could kill, Casey would be dead. Vienna was giving him the evil eye. I don't look for them to stay together long. When Casey was on the Batchelorett he was a little (well a lot) crazy, but not mean. I think Vienna brings the mean out in men. I felt sorry for Michael too. He showed that he has class by sharing the money. I s
  13. IMHO nobody leaves a job after 18 years because of office politics and does not have a job lined up first. There has to be more to the story. You did all you could. Don't let this make you bitter and not want to do good for others.
  14. I disliked it when Rachel walked in the door and I hated it worse when she walked out. I hope they either do All Stars or all newbies. I didn't like this season at all and I love BB
  15. We live off of Dabbs Bridge Road and we do not have water. I wonder if they are working on the pipes again on Harmony Grove right there at Dabbs Bridge Road....again for the 3rd time. Anybody know what's up with the water.
  16. Thanks for the links. The Gastroparesis forums that I belong to say that this show has been emailed and letters written to them to do a show on this and they haven't. A comment one of them received back is that this is a rare illness and mostely dealing with eating disorders. What the heck!!! Yeah, it's an eating disorder, but not like anexeria. Us GPers....want to eat, but can't. Actually I do not have it as bad as alot of people on the forums. Some only eat thru a feeding tube and have to have a gastric pacemaker inserted in their stomach. I have found my trigger foods and I just don
  17. I am too, but it's called a retirement check. LOL I'm old I watch the show if I'm not doing anything else. I love watching Dr. Stork! I hate that they push eating lots of fiber. I have Gastroparesis and I can have very little fiber. I wish they would discuss this illness on their show.
  18. Yes we are. It's great. If I want to go to Hiram it's about a 20-25 minute drive. If I want to go to Marietta it's about the same. We do plan our trips to "town" to get several things done at the same time. Now that we have a red light on Dabbs Bridge we are getting cityfied!!
  19. We live in NE Paulding just about 2 miles from the Bartow County Line. It still feels like country over here. The city is close enough, but not too close.
  20. If you are not going to any of the events listed above, come and join us at Hickory Heights for our Free Family Movie Night. I have a thread with the details. (Thanks LPPT for allowing me to add this to your thread)
  21. I have no idea. Since he was involved in Boy Scouts I am not sure what he will do for Girl Scouts. Freebird, we were the same way. I went up there to get propane for my husband's troop and they told me about the1/2 price for it. Then my husband went up there to order a bunch of stuff for the troop and the man told us about how he helps out Boy Scout troops.
  22. I think you have done more than enough for this person. It's sad when someone would rather live off the government than have a job, but it happens alot.
