How sad, praying for the family.

Wow, that's my husband's home town. I think there are a couple of others here that are from that neck of the woods.

I know Todd Pownall and his sweet wife. He is a believer in doing things right, getting them done and quickly moving on to the next item on the agenda. I have seen him in action. He definitely has my vote.!!!

Workman's comp is based on Payroll not sales (or 1099s), you're better off incorporating and paying yourself a salary. You are actually not required to have Worker's Comp in Georgia unless you have a couple of employees but if your people are requiring it you need to go ahead and get it. It's just an additional insurance policy to cover you if you get hurt. You can actually exclude yourself but if you are doing the work, it would be foolish to do that. It works well if you are only telling others what needs to be done.

She's beautiful KRM, I know you are so very proud. You need to become KRN (Kaylee's Rockin' Nana).

I need to get some that will be buried about 30 feet. I have no idea what to look for.

So I see you have become Boy George!! 'bout time.

I just had a thought, is someone profiling us???? I love Billy Joel.

Glad to hear you're OK. Hope you don't get attacked by an alligator in that jungle. Prayers going up for the folks in Nashville.

We're in Yorkville, it's all good. A little over 2 inches of rain here.

I think they are an hour behind us, maybe he's just getting to where he needs to go.

Heard your area got over 8 inches of rain yesterday. If you can, check in and let us know you are OK.

AJC: General Assembly cancels state income tax credit for poor
Cathyhelms replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Ummm, it's the liberal AJC, what do you expect?? If you don't pay taxes, how can you get a "refund"??? -

We dig a deep hole, fill it with compost (Black Kow is all we use), trim all the lower leaves off the tomato and plant it as deep as we can. Like someone else said they will root as far as they are in the ground. We mulch them with pine straw, wheat straw grows We try to stake them as soon as we plant, then we put cages around the plant and the stake. The cage by it's self tends to fall over when they get big and the stake is just not enough by itself. We had our garden soil analyzed by UGA and all we need this year is to fertilize with 15-0-15. If mother nature is good to us,

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House
Cathyhelms replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I happen to personally know a couple of people in the DAs office in Douglas County. The cases I speak about were here in Paulding County. -
Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

Thank you for that. My affiliation with Chad Plumley is based on one of my volunteer positions here in Paulding County, I have not had any professional experiences involving him. I really want to lean that way, Drew is a great person but doesn't appear to be getting the job done. Donald (Dick) Donovan is just not professional in my opinion. I realize it sounds personal, but having seen him in action I can't help but take it to a personal level. -
Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House
Cathyhelms replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
That's right, he pulled his practice out of Hiram into Douglasville several years ago. I knew he was affiliated more with Douglas County these days, just got confused. Oh yeah, he didn't win either of the cases I have first hand experience with. ETA, he was on the opposing side of each case I was involved with. I was dumbfounded at his lack of preparedness. -
Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

I do know Chad Plumley, he is a nice guy. Finding out about who they are and where they stand should not be a problem. Google is your friend. I'm sure all kinds of mud slinging will be going on, shouldn't be too hard to verify what is and isn't fact. I know I have sat in a couple of trials with Dick Donovan, one criminal, one civil. He was not prepared, his presentations were sometimes ridiculous. It appeared he didn't really care if he won or lost, he just wanted to be done with the case. He doesn't even live in Paulding County does he???
