I think there is still a drive in in Center Alabama. I know it's a trip but it's right there by Weiss Lake. Nice day trip but a long drive home, unless you camp out somewhere. My sister lived right behind the Judean Drive In, we could watch the movies from her yard, but no sound.

I remember the old building, it was a tad disgusting. They have the sign from the old building hanging behind the registers in the new building.

Yep, they haven't delivered babies at Paulding for many years. Almost all natives over 35 were born there. LOL, it took me to Alabama in 1985. Boy was that an experience.

I remember when everything was in the Plaza, the movies, the grocery store (Food Lion), the gas company, (Alfredos). Wasn't that on the end, Jacks was not connected, it was stand alone with a drive through. Dr Aranoff has been there forever!! There was an ice cream shop in there for a while too. I remember when we use to refer to the restaurants around the "new" Wal Mart as the fast food strip. Oh and Bid D's gas station. Wasn't the only red light in town right by the Huddle House since it was the busiest corner in the county?? I remember when they added the end part to the co

Dell Taco was where Baby Janes is now. It was very similar to Taco Bell.

Did they remodel the house or tear it down?? My BIL used to live next door I guess where the Pizza Hut is. I don't remember Vaughn's but I do remember Alfredos. They had pretty good food. Briar Patch has always been Briar Patch to me.

We eat at Captian Eddies a couple times a month. They still have delicious lunches. I love their grilled chicken salads.

Best of luck, sounds like you are very excited. Hopefully you will get that call very soon.

Will it be free, only taxes have to be paid on it?? What about Jacks?? When did it come in?? You can still see the marks in the sidewalk where there was outside seating. It's right in front of the Chinese Restaurant in Paulding Plaza, it used to be the Jacks.

That McDonalds has been there forever. It was here when I moved here in 1983, it was red brick then, the playground was outside. Anyone know when it was built?? I heard they were doing away with the play area.

I have always enjoyed MCMMs view and the way he expresses himself on many of the issues. Most of the time he debates fairly, however like everyone he has a few folks he just can't stop fighting with. Feelip and Thoughts are a couple of others that let me effectively see things from a different view point. I think LPPT is very middle of the fence, passionate about what she believes but never following "one" train of thought, she's very open minded. There are times I actually enjoy discussion with COWA, it's those crazy Maddow Youtube videos I can't stand. When I can engage him

How many of your neighbors insurance companies paid for the whole replacement?? Perhaps some of them got partials and completed the re-roof out of pocket. My parents just had their roof replaced on their 30 year old house, not because it had damage but because it was time.

Feel better soon RNG. Guard dad is totally lost without you.

Define inhaled............ I'll bet you never had sex with that woman either.

Well, Opium grows naturally. I don't think it falls in the same category as marijuana.

I really don't have a problem with legalizing marijuana, of course there should be a lot of oversight just like with alcohol. Jack Reacher, I don't think it's just pot that fried Willie's brain. The biggest problem I see is even if they legalize it, there won't be anywhere to smoke it. Can you imagine the folks sitting outside the restaurants or taking their smoke breaks and a bunch of people walk by to breathe in the second hand smoke. So yeah, go ahead a legalize it, we can tax the heck out of it and perhaps pay for this monstrous health scare bill the President just signed

I thought this was interesting about ASPARAGUS!

Wow, that's great!! I wondered how well it would do here but if it's growing in South Georgia, it should do fine here. If this doesn't make it, maybe I should get some from you. It's acclimated to Georgia. -

My asparagus patch should be ready for harvest next year. 17 out of 20 plants survived from last year. It was so hard not to harvest the shoots this year but they are not supposed to be cut til the third year. I am so ready, makes my mouth water thinking about fresh asparagus. -
That's so cool Tona, tell Tony we said

A permanent solution to a temporary problem. So very sad, I had a sister that gave in to the extreme, I can understand how this family must be feeling.

I don't think "no one cares", this is a tough subject. Taking of another person's life is not an easy decision and it's certainly not black and white. You said the crime doesn't matter but I think it would depend on the circumstances of the crime and the evidence presented at trial. It would also depend on whether there is "new" evidence. I understand there have been innocent people put to death. With new technology and DNA evidence, I think we are moving to more definite answers but I cannot say if I could or would give the go ahead on an execution. I'm just glad I'll never be a Governor

As long as they do it with private funds, if it's private it should be private not federally funded to keep it from failing.

How about they re-define the business model to coincide with the decrease. Mail carriers/sorters are the most essential parts of the US Postal Service. I would be willing to bet there could be some folks at the top that could take an early retirement or start sorting/delivering the mail. No Saturday delivery is fine with me, it's a good start.
