  1. The Cub Scouts are putting flags on the fallen soldiers graves that are buried in the cemetery at Smyrna Methodist Church on Buchanan Hwy. (this morning) The Legion usually has a very moving ceremony on Monday at the Memorial near the square on Monday morning. Not sure if they still do this since the College has moved in to the old Admin. building in front of it.
  2. It thundered off in the distance, spit a little rain about 10 minutes and that was it. Maybe we'll get some holy water yet today.
  3. That's a lot of good stuff!! You deserve it. (((hugs)))
  4. Shan, don't do anything that will stress you out. Your daughter(s) need to see you happy. Just KISS (Keep It Simple Sister). Get married in your own yard, the JP will come to you. Set up a few chairs and some dining flys, grill out (have someone else cook) and show everyone how much fun it can be. You have everything you need to do it right and fun. A wedding ceremony should not be stressful.

If you use Sevin on your animals (not recommending you do), only use 5%. The 10% is even more dangerous. And do not put it on their heads or near their eyes. It's not as harmful as some say, you can eat veggies that have been dusted the next day. Broadcasting it in the yard might not be a bad thing, just keep the pooches off of it for a day or two. However if you have a stream or creek nearby, think of the wildlife it could effect if it washes down.
  6. Is alcohol allowed at county parks??
  7. If this were your children, what would you do?? The right thing is never, ever wrong. Good luck, sounds like this is weighing heavy on your heart.
  8. Nothing here, some Holy Water for the garden from mother nature would be nice but you can keep the wind and hail.
  9. Wow, we're in Yorkville and didn't get a drop of rain. Light winds and we could hear thunder off in the distance, had no idea it was that close. Hope everyone is safe.
  10. Dang, I hope they busted the guys that stole our trailer. No such luck, I think it was a rolling meth lab, get 'em!!!.
  11. Finally getting to sit down a play a little, I'm tired. It was great seeing everyone today, familiar and new faces always make me smile. Shan, I know you are so ready for Addison to get here. I guess those chocolate chip pancakes did the job (along with the fact that Thursday is a full moon ) Good luck and hoping for a quick, easy birthday for your little girl. (((hugs)))
  12. I'm not going to the BOE meeting so I'll be there. I'm sure the folks that are going will have a great experience to share.
  13. Band Families are awesome!! Not Band of Gold DS graduated from PCHS Pride of Paulding in 2005, trumpet player. The band was much larger then, I hope they can rebuild it back to where it once was. (I think I still bleed Red, White and Blue on occasion.) Band of Gold ROCKS!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:
  14. Wow PM, what a great opportunity!! I know you are nervous and proud at the same time. Prayers for safe travels and lots of memories.
  15. I did the Band Booster Officer thing for 2 1/2 years. We actually incorporated the Booster Club, not sure what info you are looking for. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. Incorporating the Booster Club as a non-profit allows donations to be made directly to the Booster Club, it also prevents the school from "managing" your money.
  16. Do they still have the marine center near the pier at Tybee?? My kids loved that, Ft. Pulaski was fun for them, too. They were especially excited to see the cannon balls still stuck in the walls. I think my youngest was 9 or 10 when we went there. OK, I just Googled it. It's still there. The center itself is not very big but a couple times a day they take out a big net and dredge the bottom (sometimes the kids help) of the shore line to see what's there. One of the instructors will go though the stuff they find and give some info on it. Even the trash gets covered. Here's th
  17. We have gunite, I love it but it has to be used. We leave our pump running year round, it has a freeze guard on it. Last year was challenging because of the severe cold weather. We had ours resurfaced once in 15 years. I didn't brush it enough when we weren't using it. My fault.
  18. I'll try to be there Shan.
  19. If you have a favorite recipe that you have modified from another one, is it copyright infringement to publish the modified recipe?? I have always wondered about this.
