My first baby was 9lb1oz and 22inches long. My second was 10lb6oz and 24" tall. He was the size of the average American 3month old at birth. I was not having any more kids partially because I could see a pattern of getting bigger and bigger. I didn't have gestational diabetes. I just had big babies. Neither of mine looked chunky though - they were so long that they still looked very skinny. And, they are both still quite thin.

You be the judge (Justice Denied? You Decide.)
mhparker92 replied to DomesticViolenceByProxy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What's the law and common practice in these cases? On the one hand, recusing oneself seems obvious. But, on the other hand, being judge means being able to separate personal opinions from a factual and logical evaluation of the facts of the case and the law and its implementation. -
I'm sending this to my brother who does alot of video/audio editing and production. He just might be interested!!

Not sure where you're going - but, I HIGHLY recommend the Hiram office of PT Solutions. Right now - everyone in my family except myself and the college son are in PT there. My brother broke his pinky finger (a professional musician) and they are rehabbing it. My youngest is rehabbing a jammed finger (soccer injury). My husband has horrible back pain - they are working on that. My mom has hip issues - working on that. My dad is having neck and shoulder pain - will start back next week. My college son could be there for an ankle issue that he just doesn't leave alone long enough to truly

Hubby, mom, and dad all use it. Love it. It really doesn't do much long term - it's more of an immediate relief from the pain. Hubby has chronic idiopathic pain. He cycles between it, pain meds, and steroids.

LPPT - just know that these kinds of "soft" skills are taught in their CTAE classes (formerly known as Vo-Tech classes). This question was pulled from the classroom and county. But, it does illustrate the problem with pushing questions and scenarios that the students can relate to versus what is really appropriate conversation.

Mom begged him to do it (whack it is what she called it). He wouldn't. So, she made an appointment when the office would be empty and basically DEMANDED that he break it loose. He did - she screamed - then she hugged him and thanked him. It's awful when you're dealing with it. And, it hurts to break it loose. But, she'll pick the quick painful method long before she takes the "pull the bandaid off slow" method.

Recommendation for a GP open to idea of holistic medicine
mhparker92 replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks. I'll look into it. The doc I've been seeing is in Alpharetta. But, she's impossible to get an appointment with. She's dropping my insurance tomorrow, but perhaps that means I can get an appointment now. On the other hand, I'm working full time now and getting there is nearly impossible. I'm just tired of being tired, my hair falling out, my nails breaking, and my skin being so, so dry. That doesn't even get me to the can't lose the weight and can't function after working out. -
Mom has has dealt with this is both shoulders. PT is really your best bet. And, I warn you - it won't be pleasant. Shoulder therapy in general is not fun. Mom got tired of dealing with it and demanded that the PT pop it loose. He didn't want to, but he did - it hurt like hell and she screamed. But, it was instant relief. PT is your answer.

Tired of BS -please just spill the beans. I'm in that same hell right now. -
I have the side by side. They just don't seem to hold that much. But, my biggest gripe is that you can't get anything wide into either part. My mom has the french doors on top and a big drawer on the bottom with ice and water through the door. That's what I'll be getting next (no time soon, hopefully).

We're cooking. Oldest will be home from college. Having the 'rents over. Looking forward to all the cooking!!

Paulding County Schools and Parents Rights To Know....
mhparker92 replied to Stiff's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Sounds like the principal is aware of your concerns and is telling you that he/she is investigating it. They can't tell you much because it's an employment issue as well as a teaching issue. I would check back in in a week or two and go from there. But, I very much see the principal telling you that they hear you and they are looking into the situation. -
Wait a minute - no one said that BOOKS shouldn't be used. Rather that TEXTBOOKS are becoming more and more passé. There is a difference. And a question - does a textbook or a book in an electronic format not count as a book? What is a book in your realm? And I don't deny that folks died fighting the Connors between 1945 and 1954. But I remember there being a reason that the Warsaw Pact was the beginning. I'll have to sit and ponder and see if that comes back to me.

I'm glad you're around - I value diversity in its truest form!! You've got this!! I don't know how you slept through the mammogram though. Damn, that hurts!!

It's funny. I have a kid at one of the premier engineering schools in the country on a full ride scholarship. He graduated 10th in his class. His senior year - he took 5 AP classes, got a 5 on his AP calculus test, got a 3 on his AP physics test (he had to teach himself the last 3 units due to the weather and cancelled school), and somehow - none of those classes had traditional textbooks. To be honest - I'm not sure when the last time he had a traditional textbook was. Chemistry came on a cd. He also had podcasts, Khan academy, etc. to work with. The more I think about it - the more

It's funny. I know teachers that have text books and never use them. Why - variety of reasons. They aren't current - think changes in geography, maps, etc.. They are bad - poor examples, poor methodology. They aren't up to current standards in knowledge - think chemistry, physics, etc. The teacher knows that the order the material is presented in is poor - there's a better way. The fact is that our students don't consume knowledge the way we did. Sad - but true. The ones that need the books aren't our kids - it's us. But, we aren't the ones in school. Now, having said that -

The battle we fight in Boy Scouts is to even let them out of their sight. We conjole, push, peer pressure parents into even letting their kids go for a night. We spend months prepping the parents for their kids to go on a weekend or a week long camp during the summer. I feel like I spend months jumping through hoops just to get these kids out the door. I wasn't raised here in the deep south. And, I might be Don Quixote fighting a cultural element of the deep rural south. But, I'm just amazed at the number of parents who won't even let a 14-15 year old boil water, use the microwave, etc.

For there to be discipline in schools - parents must back up the school. But, as long as most parent encounters are threatened with personal injury or attorneys, there's just not much you can do. Somehow we have such an adversarial relationship between school employees and parents, and there's just not much that can be done until that is resolved.

I have two kids in the system. One is now a freshman at Virginia Tech as an engineering major on the ONLY NROTC scholarship given out in a four county district. There was also an Army ROTC scholarship given out in his graduating class. South Paulding High School had a graduate last year go to the Air Force Academy. Hiram had a student being pursued by the Air Force Academy but she opted not to go. These are all majorly academic, but also well rounded, type situations. Having said that - yeah - I'm happy with the school system. We are transplants here. We made an educated choice to

I watch Sam's and Kroger for marked down meat. Get it home and in the freezer. Also - Kroger tends to run good sales on steaks about every 5 weeks. The kroger at Cedarcrest has better mark downs than the one on 61/278. I've got two teenage boys - I feel your pain.

I suffer from similar headaches. These are the things that I found helpful. 1. Water. I know. Please. But, the fact is that alot of headaches are from dehydration. I know start with a bottle of water, maybe even two. 2. Diet coke and four advils. The combo of the caffeine, the nutrasweet, and the advil seems to work. 3. OR, 3 baby aspirin and 3 advil. The aspirin absorbs through your mouth to get started faster, and the advil is more long acting. This has been more my go-to lately as the diet coke is bothering my stomach. 4. Sleep in a dark, cool room. 5. Try an ice pack t

We love martin's - boys get the country ham biscuits, I'm a bacon biscuit kind of girl. The biscuits are amazing - similar to my grandmother's when she still made biscuits. The line usually moves pretty quickly, but we don't stop if it's out of the parking lot.

There's a BEAUTIFUL weinmriener (sp?) German ghost dog at the Douglas County Shelter. They have alot of the lab temperament, but not as much shedding.
