  1. Lets start the PCom conspiracy theories. I'll go first. It was a coordinated effort of deception. The plane is parked in Pakistan and in the hands of Al Quiada. We WILL see it again.
  2. I've seen this happen not just at birthday parties but at various showers over the last couple of years. It robs the gift giver the opportunity to see the person's face when the gift is opened. Other than that, I understand the positives of the change. 1. Grandma A's gift isn't as elaborate as Grandma B's -- now Grandma B isn't embarrassed in front of everyone. 2. Child X could not afford to bring a gift -- now he doesn't have to worry about the birthday child asking "What did you bring?" 3. Each year family and friends try to one up each other - opening in private eliminates this.
  3. I hate dentists. I don't trust them. I would almost rather go to Afganistan than go to a dentist. I found a coupon and went to Coast dental in Acworth. They said I had 14 cavities, needed scaling, and all sorts of other stuff to the tune of $6,500. Yeah, I was freaking out. I went to Sprayberry Dental for a second opinion. They said I had 2 small cavities, filled them on the spot, and all was well.
  4. Small hijack: I LOVE that this appeared directly above the Krispy Kreme post.
  5. Where are you located? I know of 2 people I highly recommend but they are in Cartersville and Kennesaw. I also know another person I could recommend in Hiram but she doesn't drive. Everything has positives and negatives. Figure out what is most important to you. We hired a CNA that was recommended by a hospice center. She looked after my grandmother for a year. Maybe you could check with local nursing homes, hospice centers, and churches to see if they have anyone they recommend. Having an individual instead of a service was the way to go for us. We didn't have to provide new
  6. Fruits can be a substitute for desserst (cookies and cake). Remember the fruits and veggies that are the best for you are the darkest in color like blueberries and strawberries or green leafy lettuces instead of iceberg. Fruits have a lot of natural sugars so the amounts must be limited. It's easy to measure summer treats. I fill 1/2 cup plastic containers with a mix of blackberries, rasberries, and blueberries then freeze them. Sprinkle a little splenda on them and they're great for a refreshing late night snack. I always keep a fresh container of orange juice in the fridge in ca
  7. It's time for you to do a lot of research. Here are some of the things that helped my family members: 1.Write down the foods you intake and your sugar levels before and after. Doing this we found certain starches that my grandmother could eat in small sizes. For example; rice would not raise her levels as much as potatoes 2.Don't be scared to try substitutes. For example; put sugar free syrup on a baked sweet potato instead of butter and sugar. 3. Don't look at this as a gut punch. Look at it as an awakening to a healther lifestyle. Realize that certain medications can make suga
  8. This should be background music for the local political threads.
  9. Wow. This is great news for EVERY Paulding County. Crap. I can't edit my post. I meant "every Paulding County citizen."
  10. Thank you. I knew the first post earlier read that she was found. I hope it wasn't deleted because it was inaccurate.
  11. It's a bit of a drive but your royal canines would enjoy Atlanta Pet Resort on Bells Ferry Rd. It's right at Bells Ferry and 41. You can sign up for couch time, TV time (you specify the show), and many more luxuries. The best human convenience is their extended hours. Call early so you can get a reservation.
  12. I truly believe it depends on the post office you use. At our business we send multiple certified letters each week. When you walk into the Kennesaw Post Office with a box full of certified letters they all moan and groan. I have to follow up asking where the signed receipts are only to learn most of them have been misplaced. The people at the Acworth Post Office greet you with a smile and usually get more than 50% of the receipts back on time. But by far, the Cartersville Post Office gets the brightest gold star. Not only are they happy to see you when you walk in the door but the signe
  13. I have recommended The Moovers to several of my customers and they have all been very pleased. The Moovers Nicole Bush 770-386-1111 moover4u@gmail.com
  14. My dog has the same problem. We are sending her to Sit means Sit training schooling Douglasville next week. Chris came out to meet my dog and evaluate her. He said they train the dogs to never have teeth touch skin. They have day classes and private lessons. Maybe they could help you. Good luck.
  15. Just FYI. I view PCom 99% from my iphone. The front page videos will not show on the phone. Believe me, I have tried, many times. Hopefully, the update will change that. We'll see.
  16. You won a lot of fans when you were helping the "waving man."
  17. I agree. There are certain things people must buy for themselves. Coax him in the car and surprise him by driving to a dealership and telling him to pick one.
  18. I just got a Channel 2 news update on my phone saying a fiery, deadly crash shut down C.H. James Parkway in Cobb.
