  1. I think I will take your advise but it did hack me off I love my family.

120 is fine from Draketown to Dallas, speed limit drive. Cannot say past Draketown.
  4. Kudos to my nephew. He saw the fire knocked on the door and finally kicked in the door. The occupants were elderly and did not even know the house was on fire. He said he had to kneel down because of the smoke and the alarm just started going off after the door opened. Other people as well as the FD started arriving and he just left the scene. He just happened to be driving by. He is 25 years old and actually gives me a little faith in our young adults.
  5. I can't open the link right now but does the letterhead say "From the Desk of a Dumb*ss"?
  6. OK what do you think about this. My sister is retired but drives a bus for Cobb County to have something to do and supplement her income. Yesterday she went through hell to deliver all her kids but one. She got stuck and a very nice Cobb County officer delivered the last child safely home. The same officer told her to walk to the middle school (she was about a mile away) and leave her bus where it was because the county was overwhelmed and could not get a wrecker to her for hours. She walked to the school and called in to her supervisor. She was told that she would be written up and possibly f
  7. Three shots to the chest. Worst case of suicide I ever heard. Oh well...BYE.
  8. Before he lost all that weight I always thought Al looked exactly like the "Big Blue Meany" from Sgt. Pepper's.
  9. While I have very little faith in our local TV weather teleprompter readers and generally consider them to be at best 50-50 accurate. Ignoring them as I generally do, if you did not see this one coming you are the responsible party. Every single radar shot on any given channel or internet site showed a huge band of moisture colliding with an artic blast of frigid air. You did not have to be Nostradomus (sp) to figure this one out. It is blind dependence on others to do your thinking for you that causes you to make dumb life choices.I shut down my jobsites Monday night and told everyone to stay
  10. Roads starting to get slick between Hulseytown and Villa Rica. Saw one wreck near VR and someone mowed my mailbox down while I was gone.
  11. Snowing since 11. Just measured 3/8" on driveway. have seen two accidents already. Hulseytown.
  12. Pete was very famous around the folk music scene. He is credited for being a major influence on the likes of Bob Dylan (who he later had a falling out with), John Prine, Joan Biaz (sp), John Denver, the Greatful Dead and many others. He has won virtually every major music award that exists including Grammy's, Kennedy Center honors and the American Freedom Medal. He was however a card toting member of the American communist party and that did not settle well with many people (including myself). RIP Mr. Seeger.
  13. All these 1/2 tons have been bastardized into yuppie mobiles much like the SUV's were. I have not owned a car in 30 years they are just not practical for me. I do like the way the 1/2 tons drive and ride and have only owned Fords. My brothers are Chevy (GMC) men and I like both their trucks. Not much on Dodge or the imports. I currently own four Fords a F-150, F-250, E-250 and F-350. The F-250 and F-350 are 7.3 Powerstrokes and I will never sell either. Three of these four are work trucks and one is personal. The earlier poster is on the money about horse shows I have said this since the early
  14. If you like them by all means continue to use them. My grandmother swore by them but she also swore professional wrestling was real.
  15. I am very glad you found it in time and had a full recovery that is great news. However my point being any medical doctor could have x-rayed it and found the same thing. This just happened to be a chiropractor who referred you to a real medical doctor who then corrected the physical issue. If they work for you by all means continue your visits but I am more than skeptical about any real benefits from someone "cracking" your back. Physical therapists are way more likely to give you a program that really addresses the underlying problems than a chiro. In all seriousness I am very glad your issue
  16. I have two bulging discs in my back, one in the lumbar and one a little higher. One of these pressed on the sciatic nerve and caused a great deal of pain and numbness. I had three epidurals (sp) and they helped somewhat but did not totally relieve the symptoms. The best thing I found is physical therapy. If you go a couple of weeks they can teach you exercises you can do at home that really helped mine. I do not go to chiropractors, witch doctors or shaman. They are all on the same level to me. There is zero medical proof they help at all. Although there may be some placebo effect similar to s
  17. The opening sentence of the OP says it all, a liberal newsperson supports this. I for one am shocked. :o
  18. Not a Deal fan he seems to be a man of questionable ethics but he will win going away. People can spout ethics, education, morals until they are blue in the face and it won't matter. Nationally and local it comes down to the economy (money) when they cast their ballot. It proves itself again and again.
  19. The government run education system in the U.S. is pathetic. The answer up to this point has been to throw money at it and it is not working. I am not smart enough to claim I have the answer to fix the system but what we have been doing is clearly not the answer. Do we hold the parents more responsible? Hold the administrators more responsible? Teachers? Politicians? I have to think the politicians should be responsible for funding and security but nothing else. They screw up every program they touch and have an abysmal track record on being able to do anything right. Again I do not know the a
  20. The SF vs. Seattle game was a very hard hitting physical game esp. the first half. Did not see any officiating mistakes that you wouldn't see in any other game. Will be pulling for Denver. P. Manning put on a clinic in how to play the game and how to conduct yourself in an interview afterwards. Everyone knows he is the catalyst behind the team but when interviewed he always says "the team played good, the team was ready, the team had several key plays, the defense played a good game". I am sure he has an ego, he is competitive and realizes how good he is but he gives others credit and acts lik
