If you notice there is ice/snow around the nest but it is clear and dry where the adults are sitting the eggs. When you doubt the maternal and survival instincts of wild animals just watch these two. Have a 6500 w Honda (12 years old) and a 2700w (15 years old) Honda both gas powered. Have never had a issue with either one. I run either ethanol free gas or add a stabilizer. I can let them sit for a year at the time and they will crank with two or three pulls. (Well actually the 6500 w is an electric start). I always turn off the gas valve and let them run out before I put them up. Bought both from Northern Tool.

5000 watts. Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Northern Tools (Marietta), Ace Hardware. Not sure about inventory on any of these but Northern usually carries a pretty good supply.

Georgia has some of the lowest winter electrical rates in the country. In fact Dalton has the lowest rates in the country as of 2012 (latest I could find). Having said this there are 94 electrical service providers in the state of Georgia including the EMCs. The three providers for our county (to my knowledge) are Georgia Power which ranks 40th out of 94, Greystone which ranks 43rd out of 94 and Carroll EMC (my provider) which ranks 15th out of 94 according to the Georgia PSC for the year 2013.
