Does Paulding County really need an Ampitheater?
tundra replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think it's an awesome idea, there is very little residential property near that area and access to the Silver Comet trail would be a plus. I would like to see some kind of water feature something like the one at Centennial Olympic Park to offer a cool down area for those bikers and hikers. Fine arts which include music are a huge attraction for any area. I just have one more question, why haven't we utilized the Equine area at Paulding Meadows for rodeos?? Didn't we spend a bunch of parks and rec money on that?? Why isn't it being utilized?? Would the same thing happen to this -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'
tundra replied to michaelsudan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Just keep in mind every "big" business was a small business at one time. -
^^^^ I have to agree with this. There was a time, when WalMart was actually in Dallas, I could go in there and knew 75% of the people. My husband used to wonder why it took me so long when I was just running to the store. You have to stop and chat with those folks you know. I'm still having a tough time figuring out what a living wage is. Seems like we lost a lot of industry when all the retail moved to Hiram. I think someone higher up needs to sit down and talk to those folks in Polk and Floyd county. They seem to know how to attract business, have for years. No expressway g

Question about possible donations for a Boy Scout project
tundra replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What type of mulch are you looking at?? Perhaps the power companies can give you some wood chips, I think most are free or nominal costs. A Scout is Thrifty. -
I hang out on several message boards.........and FB. Are you saying this is the only message board you are a member of??
-
I assure you more than one person knew who the original jughaid was, in fact there are many........
-
Coming from the poster that couldn't deal with Maryland message boards, those people were so mean!! You could have been killed!! How many times couldn't you stand it and left for a long time........ couldn't stand it and came back, yeah I thought so. And pray tell where are you getting your information?? Are people/mods on PCom sharing info about posters?? From another message board?? Say it isn't so!!
-
I have no problem with anyone posting anonymously. I have a problem with taking over someone else's identity. I know who "jughaid" was. I knew for years before the screen name was taken over. Post all you want under your screen name but why steal screen names that belonged to other posters? That's deception, not anonymity.

Just want you to know that a couple of kids have cut through the parking lot at the church and office on 278 just before Pumpkinvine Creek to go swimming in the creek. The church and business will no longer allow them to do that. In addition to the snakes and other hazards, this was spotted in the parking lot this morning. Another one, this is not a house cat.

Aww I miss Jughaid, too!!

Paulding is a great facility. I agree with others, keep her as close as you can. The more you visit, the better care she will receive. I know several that have been in Paulding and have been very pleased.

It's a different world. The "me" generation has been going on for years and it's only getting worse.

OK so swimmies hold the poop inside the diaper but the germs from feces still escape, as evidenced by the need to clean your toilet that flushes with clean water. What about the liquid runny stuff?? They used to have baby pools for that very reason, do they not anymore?

Easy To Clean Hummingbird Feeder, Made In USA
tundra replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks for sharing!! Without a bee guard we can't use it here. Some of the wasps and hornets are bigger than the hummers. Yikes!! -
Oh quit your complaining already, both of you.

Hummingbirds are nesting right now. We saw several early in the spring but only a few right now. They're making babies.

Where would be a great place to go for a few days?
tundra replied to lucky64's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Cave Spring has several bed and breakfasts. They have the freezing cold pool that is fed by the spring and the little downtown area is filled with antique stores. I don't think you'll have to deal with many "tourists", mostly locals. -
I do believe the Senior center has a quilting club and sell the quilts they make. Check with them.

Just be certain the kids shower well and use soap as soon as they can after the park. I know a poor kid that couldn't walk for a week because of a rash he developed after going there. Probably from the high concentration of chlorine and other sanitation stuff.

Vultures on the roof of neighboring house.......
tundra replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They were doing this to my neighbors house. He got one of those air horns. When they congregated, he just stepped outside and pushed the button once. They took off. After a couple of weeks they left for good. -
You can still plant tomatoes, peppers, cukes, squash and beans with good success. Here is the UGA vegetable planting chart which shows you can plant most of these until July 15. http://www.caes.uga.edu/applications/publications/files/html/C963/C963VegeChart.pdf
