I have a question only partially related to this topic....How does keeping your car insured contribute to public safety? The same people on here that had fits against Obamacare - where everyone must pay for health insurance - are now saying it's okay for cars but not for people. I think mandated insurance of any kind is a bad idea. I would rather the cops be cruising the neighborhood to stop break-ins than being the insurance company enforcer.

In Georgia, the county Sheriff is required by the state constitution to maintain the county jail. The tax payers pay for the jail, the Sheriff controls it. The board of commissioners is only involved as much as the Sheriff allows - and that usually means only that the Sheriff submits the expenses/budget of the jail to the board to help them compile a budget for the spending of tax revenues. Youth detention centers and prisons are not included in this arrangement - they are run by the state.

Geesh, okay, if I knew you were going to get this bent out of shape about it I wouldn't have asked in the first place. I'll find another ride.

Guns and Violence - what can be done?
cobb transplant replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Y'all have made this all very complicated. Let's keep it simple: Immediately pass a law making it a felony to murder someone with ANY type of gun. done. problem solved. The second it's signed into law there will be no more gun violence. -
Interesting question I heard on the news this morning
cobb transplant replied to kcarlsonlpn's topic in RECENT TOPICS
How many people really need to own box cutters? Seriously, when is the last time you opened a box with one of those razor knives that any ten year old can buy at wal-mart? I'm asking this because one time, these guys that could not use guns, used box cutters to initiate an assault that resulted in 2,977 murders in one morning. Let's start a petition to ban box cutters, in this day of perforated cardboard their time of being a tool used for anything other than mayhem has passed. -

What I find amazing is these crazy bastards having been shooting rockets into two cities for 8 days and have only killed 140 people. I'm afraid to laugh at that. Can I laugh at that? I think I laughed at that (accidently).

************************************************ I don't get it...how would a properly designed intersection raise revenue? -
**************************************************** I'm not suggesting that I agree, but it is legal for agents of the gov't to lie to you. It is only illegal if you lie to them.

One is not required to have any form of ID for the purpose of "being outside of one's home". The deputy was just bluffing to try to ID your BIL. Anyway, you are wasting your time with former member...her candidate is in desperate need of those fraudulent votes and former member will shriek "RACIST! CLASSIST!" and every other "ist" that comes to mind to protect the fraud votes - otherwise, the dems would bring forth an otherwise valid voter before congress that cannot meet the ID requirements. Just one.
-
Under the last presidential election rules, how exactly would you prove voter fraud? Without being required to show a non-expired, valid ID it would be nearly impossible to prove anything. That explains the low number of fraud cases and is the whole point of the ID law. Anyone that opposes verification of one legitimate vote per eligible voter is after those fraudulent votes.

******************************************************************** oops, sorry...it's the COMMUNITY by the dump.

because peeing on somebody is just overboard right there, the horror. well, yeah, you can blow their head off....buuuuuuuuuuuuuut, don't you pee on them. I think it would be okay if they peed on them first and then blew their head off. I want the Marines to kill people and tear stuff up or come home and stop being picked at -- either way is fine by me.

JK Rogers' Assessment of State Senate Runoff
cobb transplant replied to Mason Rountree's topic in Paulding County NEWS
well, now wait a minute here...where's all those people that said JK Rogers was a Heath master plan to get elected in a run-off? say it ain't so! you mean Rogers was actually a stand-up guy (probably the only one in the race)? You mean he was really trying to win? naaaah, I ain't buying it...this is just another piece of the Heath master plan, he's now trying reverse psychology. -
I've been meaning to ask some the Paulding natives (as in family goes back generations) if any of them were gold miners. ?
-
we came here because Paulding didn't have all that crap. I think it was the Paulding natives that wanted it because they had never been exposed to and had no idea what it brought with it. Or, more likely, the natives could sell grandpa's land to the contractors and go buy themselves a new Caddy. Now that Caddy's gone but you still got the crap.
-
wow. so you think that landslide vote against was done by people that want all those "improvements" but want them for free? You must be listening to the Cobb Chairman Tim Lee who said the vote proved that the majority wanted the projects. I think y'all all might need to see a doctor.
-
I will not complain. I'm not in favor of a single project and I do not stand to get rich from any of the proposals. I work near Marietta. It takes me thirty minutes to get to work and 30 minutes home. That drive does not bother me in the least. If your drive bothers you, maybe you should get a little "greener" and move closer to your source of income. Don't expect me to kick in cash to solve a problem that your poor choices have caused you.
