  1. And people wonder why parents are pulling their children from public school and either home schooling them or making big sacrifices to send them to private school. Head * Desk.
  2. I've passed this on to a dear friend who's been living in bondage to a Crack addiction for almost 19 years. She's tried all the "WHAT YOU DO" things.... never realizing the work has already been done and she sits With Christ. Perhaps through the Webinar, that light bulb will finally go off and she'll know what True Freedom is.
  3. Ohhhhh darn. I'm gonna just HAVE to meet a friend there Tomorrow for lunch. All matzoh ball soup for me!!!!
  4. I'll be there next Friday after a shopping trip to Dover Saddlery.... need me some Matzoh Ball Soup!

  6. Ditto to NY Gal... was there a long time ago. Best beer-cheese soup EVER!
  7. Also remember, that the DNC list expires every five years, so you may need to renew.
  8. And of course, if you have some time, really get 'em going: http://www.ahajokes.com/off06.html
  9. For the worst trolls, it usually works. But for the persistent ones, try this from our friends at NotAlwaysWorking.com Af-Fair Way To End A Call Telemarketer | VA, USA | Employees(We’ve had several weeks of chronic calls from the same woman from a telemarketing company, always asking for my husband. She refuses to take our number, which is also listed in the Do Not Call registry. We’ve told her that her company is in violation of laws, to no avail. Once again, the same woman calls; this time, however, I decide to use a trick I’ve employed before.) Caller: “Is Mr. [my husband] t
  10. Gee, I have way more a life than to track what each poster says when and then dig it all up.
  11. For fried green tomatoes, get thee to Cartersville (under the elevated tracks) to the Appalachian Grill. FGT heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. First five years of my life were spent in Wantagh and the next 16 in Bellmore
  13. Forgot one! --Crab Cakes = Barbara Jeans on St Simon's Island (Florida & S Carolina locales too) Oh my, oh my, oh my. 98% crab, 2% breading, etc. NO green pepper to take over the taste, unlike --barf-- Maryland style crabcakes. Best yet, they'll ship fast frozen to you!
  14. Local/somewhat local: --Ribs = Jones' BBQ on 61 in Bremen --Pizza = Sal's in downtown Dallas. Trust me. I'm from NY and their neopolitan pie is fabulous. Great garlic knots too. --Biscuits & Gravy = The Batesville Country Store in Batesville GA, outside of Helen. True "cat head" biscuits that are light & fluffy, with sawmill gravy you'd like to mainline! --Seafood = The Marietta Fish Company - cannot be beat. Non-Local --Northern Italian = Cafe Boci' in Westbury (Long Island NY) - Bay scallops in a lemon cream sauce over angel hair pasta, with fresh tomato. Ohh
  15. Ditto on the Diner, but also in Marietta: On Roswell Road, east of the Big Chicken, just before the I-75 overpass on the left is Chicago Delight. While they have great Chicago hot dogs, they also have the Kronos Gyro. It's perfect!
  16. How wonderful! I found my daughter I surrendered 23 years ago.... yay for Facebook. We've been chatting on line, just taking it slow. I long to hear her voice tho and see her face-to-face. Soon I Pray!!!
  17. Come to my house: To die for Roladen, spaetzle, gravy, red cabbage, etc. I was privileged to grow up beside my grandmother, Lydia Schroth, who was sent to cooking school in Germany. I learned it all from her and the greatest thing she left me when she passed was her German Cookbook and Cast Iron.
  18. CRANBERRY CHEESE PINWHEELS Ingredients 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 8 ounces crumbled feta cheese 1/4 cup chopped green onions 1 package (6 ounces) dried cranberries 4 flour tortillas (10 inches) – The Tomato Basil ones are FAB or the Green Spinach ones Directions In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and feta cheese till smooth. Stir in onions and cranberries. Spread about 1/2 cup mixture over each tortilla and roll up tightly. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut each roll-up into 10 slices.
  19. Another vote for the Sleep Number Bed by Select Comfort. We bought one 12 years ago and it was the best money we ever spent. I'm normally a soft 35, but when my back was out, I upped it to 55 for more firm support. Hubby hasn't had any back or shoulder problems since we got it. It's so lightweight that, even king size, it's easy to change sheets. Once a month, I'll vacuum the top with my Kirby to suck out the dust mites, but that's it. No flipping, turning, etc. Say "Merry Christmas" to yourself and your spouse!
  20. This is gonna sound crazy but it helps move the stone: Eat one pound of fresh, steamed asparagus. Immediately after eating it, consume an ENTIRE 2-liter Coca-Cola... not Diet, not Pepsi or some other cola brand. Pure Coke. The asparagus is a natural diuretic. The acid in the Coke dissolves the stone. You'll be peeing like a horse Save that "recipe" for the future... as soon as you feel the slightest, tiniest twinge of THAT pain, repeat it and get the stone while it's still tiny.
  21. Call The Marietta Pizza Company and find out who does their windows. They are always, ALWAYS gawjus!
  22. Hellmann's - there is no other mayo to me and our household. Hubby tried to grab a Blue Plate jar once.... ONCE. As far as salads go, tho, I have to do 2 parts Hellmann's to 1 Part Miracle Whip. Without the MW, you wind up saying "Hmmmm, it's good but -- something's missing."
