im no doctor of medicine but I would suggest to you that your symptoms are the tell tale signs of a heart condition. However they are also the signs of diabetes and fibromyalgia; but the heart is the most likely culprit. I do recommend a second opinion but until you have that second opinion proceed under your current diagnosis.

and this is why I am against the traditional indoctrination of children into churches. Let them explore their own faith and decide if they wish to attend service or not. If you live your life according to your faith and your children see that this makes you a better person rrest assured they will most likely follow suit. Otherwise you wind up with middle schoolers who dont want to be there and grow up resenting the very notion of faith. Dont forget that the other part of children honoring their parents is parents not making their children bitter. -
to answer the question about the "cafe" vs. "school" question: A Cafe is privately owned but PUBLICLY OPEN. Now if the cafe was part of a private golf club, THEN they could discriminate at will because one must be a member of the club to do business with the facility. This school is privateley owned AND part of a private organization which therefore allows them to discriminate. However there may be some stipulations depending on where there funding and accreditation comes from. The school is in the right here.

US Soldiers Punished for not attending Christian Concert
CaptainObvious replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
PV please try to keep in mind that when a civilian reads "You have clearly never been in the military" they seem to always take it as an insult rather than an observation. Most people really have no idea about what military culture/life is like and as such when they hear about things like this so radically different from their day to day lives that they impart their own value system (rightly or wrongly) to that situation. Sure people like you and I that have been in the service know that this sort of thing is common and to be expected and even understandable to us but to someone on the outside -

I agree, and it is changing, though be it slowly; too slowly for some peoples tastes and too quickly for others but sadly not just right for anyone. -

Alot more unbiased but still sketchy on the details, though there is more now. These are national guardsmen, weekend warriors. More over, they were at AIT clearly, which for anyone whose ever been in the service will tell you that the difference between Basic and AIT is minor. You are still treated like dirt and you are technically on duty 24 hours a day. By virtue of this fact the concert took place during duty time and as such the "personal" time described here is not personal at all. They could reasonably (though I agree not fairly) punished for not performing such duties as described. What -
No i meant what I said. Literally. And allow me to state that our government does not protect anyone. Name one person our government has protected. Our soldiers protect people, our police protect people (so much as the rules allow them to anyway) but our government has not protected anyone in the past century. Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country did to you.

The article lacks a few details I would like to have but I can infer from based on the wording of the (clearly biased based on the nature of the site) source (though this does NOT mean the article is wrong.) If this concert took place during typical duty time then technically the commanding officers/NCO's would have been within their right to tell those soldiers not attending to perform maintenance duties. If the concert did NOT take place during duty hours and instead these soldiers were made to perform these acts off of duty time then yes what happened would constitute punishment. Since -
Is America afraid of Islam the religion: Yes. Just as a boy stung by a bee is now afraid of bees. The the boy fails to realize is the bee dies after it stings. The metaphor? Muslims lost friends and family on 9/11 too and are paying dearly for the acts of a minority of their faith. They have been isolated, scrutinized, business owners have lost business or gone out of business outright due to being profiled and judge summarily with terrorists. In some parts of the world yes I will acquiesce that there exists some cultures that encourage violence rather than tolerance. Most Muslims do understan

I wonder if there would be such athiest outrage if there were stars of david or crescents placed where jewish and islamic troopers have died. I personally dont think there would be as I think this is more of an anti-christian movement than a seperation of c/s issue, but this is only speculation on my part. Under the law they have a valid arguement, though I am angry that they would actually act on it, it is their right and therefore not much I can do about it. These people will have to live with the content of their character the rest of their lives...and if all occurs as I believe it does
