You are probably right when it comes to dictation but I know the rest of the notes are a MESS. Trying to order tests or call in meds could be a major problem! I would call the PCP. They shouldn't have a problem in the world with correcting the dictation.

If the specialist didn't note it in the dictation I would go back to the PCP and see if it's in his/her notes. Also, on the information that you filled out when you saw the specialist there is usually an area to fill in who/if there is a DR that ref. you. You can always point that out to the specialist if they have a problem doing the addendem (which they shouldn't). Also, I wanted to say that I don't really like EMR in some situations, but there are FAR LESS errors than when humans are trying to interpret DR's handwritting to notes. Not perfection by a long shot but it is improved.
