Most of the programs are the same, and have been for years. The whole art, music, and design thing is propaganda that mac users propagate without knowing any facts.

This Mac is overpriced and overrated.

Have you tried clearing cookies, temporary internet files, and history? I find those fix like half of the browser issues people call in about.

I used opera way back when, but it's never taken off. I hate safari. I use the main 3, IE, Firefox, and Chrome for work, and generally I prefer Chrome. I've used Firefox for so long at home that it's become habit. Performance wise, you can't beat chrome. Firefox and IE create one instance of itself, where as Chrome uses several, which if you are using a multi core processor, helps spread the usage. It really helps at work when I'm using like 10 browsing windows, as well as several other programs, which tends to challenge the rather crappy computers we have to use.

If they are going to give out electronics to kids, it should be e-readers or laptops. If they just want to replace books, do the e-reader, if they want the child to also be able to do homework on the device, get them laptops, and ask the publishers to put the books on cd or pdf... Net books are very powerful in many cases. One of my friends runs a brand new mmo game off of theirs with no issue. And that game is a gfx hog. No reason a kid shouldn't be able to do anything they need to from a netbook.

The thing to worry about with plasma, most the old ones, but I know someone who recently bought one and is having the same issue, is that if you leave the screen on the same image too long, the image will burn into the screen. Supposedly this was eliminated a while ago, but like I said, I know someone who just got one at xmas, and his is already burned... I got the emerson 32" at christmas, and I'm liking it so far. And the extended warranty at Walmart isn't too expensive.

WHAT'S REALLY IN THAT TACO YOU ARE EATING?

Looks and tastes like ground beef to me. Texture is right. I'm thinking a counter suit is likely. -
I didn't watch it, but I read an AP article today breaking down all of the non truths in it. It was a long article... At the end, I concluded that the speech was for the masses of completely uninformed Americans, because it sure as hell wasn't aimed at anyone who follows politics.

Grocery Store Pharmacy that is Closing 278/92

The issue was with tax breaks the GA legislature would not pass. That made them decide not to look at any GA locations at the time. Maybe things have changed, but if not, I doubt they open anywhere in GA. -

I worry about the employees. I know plenty of employees who've been screwed over by Kroger's senior management and union. -
That's a fairly short day. I'd love to say I'm shocked that the school system wastes that large of a part of the day on the non academic things, but I'm not...

What school is that? my elementary school was somewhat similar to that (8 to 340), but my middle school was 715 to 245, and high was like 730 to 315...

I don't know what grade/subject you teach, or the details of your homework, so I can't comment on whether your assignments are fair. I can tell you that if all your school is giving you is 4 and a half hours per day to teach your kids, you need to change school districts. I've never had a school where, if you broke down the actual class time, it was less than 6 hours total. The other thing you need to keep in mind is that it's not your students fault that the administration wastes almost half of their day. Maybe the teachers need to speak to the admins or school board and get their class time

Exactly. that's why the only accurate measurements are in wilderness areas, unaffected directly by manmade structures in the area. And those generally show no rise in temp.

Home. best place. it's free. -
The unbiased research I've read is that in rural areas, average temp over the last 100 years is roughly the same, or even down a bit.

8 hours a day is plenty of time to teach children what they need to know, if it is properly utilized. There should be no need for homework unless a child is behind, or until high school, and only in high school if the child is taking classes that are very challenging for them... I had a teacher one time that did not assign homework. Only teacher like that I ever had. And our class had the highest scores in the school. He would teach the basic lesson, let the kids who got it get their work for the day done, and then work with the kids that didn't get it to help them, while the rest of us w

It's not an us vs them conversation. I'm not a christian, and dislike entering churches, but would still do so if I wanted to go to a graduation. And there is no point in having the kids travel a long way to go to a graduation, or the school system to pay an outrageous amount for a facility. Honestly, I think having prayers at graduation (mine did, 6 years ago), or school in general, are a much bigger issue than renting a building owned by a church for a graduation ceremony. -
Eli Manning should be #1. He's horribly overrated. Sanchez is probably #2. Thought I'm glad someone else looked at Namath's stats, and realized he wasn't very good.

Why do people get out when it gets like this?
adam&jessica replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The issue is that for alot of people missing one day of work will make it nearly impossible to pay bills. Also, many places would fire an employee for leaving early if the boss says not to. If you are on a tight budget, you just can't afford to take the risk. I was smart, and as soon as I saw the weather report, took sunday off, and I normally have mon/tues off, so I'm good
