That's not what I have read and heard from the news networks on the decision today. Source: Reuters The appellate court assumed severability, and ruled the mandated purchase unconstitutional. The rest of the law stands. The SCOTUS will now address only that portion of the law dealing with the mandated purchase of insurance. The parts about insurance companies being compelled to pay for everything mandated in the original law will still be in full force. Meaning, insurance companies will have to raise premiums to rates so high that insurance will basically be unaffordable for mo

http://blog.seattlepi.com/thebigblog/2011/07/27/how-long-can-you-live-after-your-head-is-chopped-off/ So, you are locked in a guillotine, the blade drops, and your head rolls into a basket. How long are you aware of your surroundings before you lose consciousness?

Good point. Less than $10/person is a value priced meal. 6 people for under $5 each would be in the PBJ territory.

$56 for 6 people sounds pretty reasonable, particularly if it is all you can eat crab legs.

Thanks for the replies. Sis thinks this diagnosis is probably accurate, since we have other family members (first cousins) with the same diagnosis. It seems to be genetic. (don't know about that, but Sis thinks it is true). I guess we'll just have to see how it works out. Sis thinks my occasional gout may be a related symptom (haven't had that in a few years, but 2 - 3 year episodes previously).

I got a call from my sister this morning. She told me she had been feeling bad for quite a while, and just had no energy at all. Now she has been diagnosed with Lupus, which is an auto-immune disorder where the immune system attacks healthy tissue as if it were an infection. I'm not sure I understand what prognosis is. She told me she is currently on medication, but I don't know if that is to make her better, or just help her cope with the symptoms. Is this a serious disease, or an inconvenience?

Juror #2 sheds some light on 'not guilty' verdict
chindog replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It's too bad that not one of those jurors who thought she was guilty of at least manslaughter could have stuck by their opinion in the vote, and refused to go with Not Guilty. If that had been the case, it would have resulted in a hung jury, and the case could have been re-tried. As it is, she is walking. And I think she killed her daughter on purpose. -
If you like ukulele music, and have one you like to play, or would like to learn to play one, why don't you join us for a get together at White Oak Park on Monday, July 11? We are going to meet around 6:30ish at one of the pavilions (don't know which one - just look for the ukulele players). We are planning on some family friendly strumming and singing. The ukulele is such a fun instrument, and is easy to learn to play. Come join us for some happy strumming! We'll play from 6:30 till the bugs send us home.

West Metro generally has much better quality at much lower prices than you can get anywhere. At least that has been my experience with them.

We were discussing this earlier this evening. We came to the conclusion that she goes to her beauty salon and asks for a style that will make her look dorkier than anyone on the planet.

I met Retha through a dating service. We had our first date less than a week after the service gave us each other's phone numbers. We got engaged after 3 weeks. We got married after 3 months. We are going to celebrate our 28th anniversary this fall. We don't subscribe to the theory that you have to know each other for a long period of time to make sure things will work out. However, neither of us has tattoos. That would probably have been a deal killer.

It seems to be hanging up on "connecting to adserv2.paulding.com". Very slow loading pages.

I've heard jazz defined as 4 guys on different instruments playing different songs at the same time.

Congrats!

I've recently been bitten with the ukulele bug. I want to learn to play it. I have a soprano that has been in the family for many years, but it has just been a wall decoration. I recently took it to Fret Not for repair (the back was coming off), but it's not fixed yet. It's just an old cheapo, though. I want to get a better one, but don't know what version would be best. They come in Soprano, Concert, Tenor, and Baritone. Anyone here play the uke, and which sizes do you like?
