We're on a diet. Nothing but fish or fowl, and a few select veggies. Posting those pictures of your superb pork loin was pure evil!

That guy was great. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go all the way to the finals.

I've never had anything but a great experience with them. The prices are great and the quality is top notch.

No, it's Emily and Mamie. They provide that cold medication they call "the recipe".

Subby, you should always get your cheap Chinese POS tools from Harbor Freight. They are much cheaper there, so it doesn't bother you as much when you throw them in the trash.

I think I saw him headed down to the Baldwin sisters house.

According to the news report on WSB radio, the cost of renting the church building (it's not a church - the people are the church and a building is just a building) is $2000. The next lowest cost venue that would accommodate the same size crowd is in another county, and would cost $8,000. I fully support the constitutional first amendment restriction on government that Thomas Jefferson referred to as "a wall of separation between church and state", but this doesn't fall into that category. This is simply a matter of economics, and the Cherokee county school board is making a prudent fina

Not quite as many really bad singers tonight, it seems. Maybe they just haven't started showing them yet.

George Lucas agrees with you.

Oh, I just realized that Steven Tyler is a dude! (I had only seen pictures of him, and hadn't heard him talk before).

Did you not know the Eisenhower Interstate system is a Federal Defense system? It was initiated for the purpose of moving military equipment, and providing emergency runways for military aircraft? Of course you didn't.

If you select a Sherlock Holmes book, start with "A Study in Scarlett". It's the first Holmes book, and is narrated by the John Watson character. It describes their first meeting, and how their interests mesh together to blend into the partnership that follows through the subsequent serials. I really enjoyed the PBS presentation of this novel that was updated to modern day. It was aired a couple of months ago. It even kept the original background of Dr. John Watson serving in a combat zone in Afghanistan.

"A Princess of Mars" by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It's going to be a major motion picture next summer, so read it now (for free from Amazon) so you know what the book version is like before you see the movie. Oh, and if you like that one, there are several sequels.

Sounds like you work close to where I do. I usually go in early, before the traffic builds up, and take 120 to loop 120, then up Fairground Rd to Allgood and over to 41. Maybe tomorrow I'll just take loop 120 all the way to 41. I'm hoping it will be clear after the sun comes up.

There will be counter-demonstrators to block Westboro: Westboro Baptist Church to face 'angel wings,' bikers and legislation at 9-year-old's Tucson funeral

Just got the official word from my office... Snow Day 2 - Office Closed. Better to keep the employees safe than risk injury or property loss trying to get in to the office.

The cost of clearing the interstates should be upon the federal government. The state budget should not be involved.

Isn't there any optimism out there for improved conditions? Maybe we should stay home again another day.

Do you think the major roads (61, 92, 278, 120) will be like tomorrow during the 8 - 10 am time frame? Passable, or still just solid sheets of ice? Will the road crews have made any progress, or will Mother Nature be traveling behind them wiping out their efforts? How about the afternoon rush hour? Would you predict any improvement on the highways then?

It may have been 73 when I was living in Missouri, and we had an ice storm. There was a significant accumulation of ice on the roads, and the temps didn't get over freezing for over 30 days. I was in college at the time, and remember riding to work on my motorcycle. Before the road crews could get the streets salted, they were solid ice, and I drove down the road at a slow speed with both feet on the ground the entire time. I only did that once, but luckily I didn't fall down.

Finally! Sleeting just east of the Ridge/61 area.

Nothing here in south Paulding at 7:30pm. No precip at all. The temp on my back porch is 38 degrees.

I'm beginning to wonder if we will miss it. Weren't the temps supposed to be dropping throughout the day so that it was supposed to be well below freezing before the system moved in? It's almost 6:00pm and still 39 degrees on my back porch. I wouldn't be surprised if all we got was some rain, and I'll have to be at work in the morning.
