  1. My wife asked her doctor about the shingles vaccine the other day. Our insurance won't pay for it until the patient is age 60. Without insurance, the shot costs $214.

    PDF files?

A few months ago, after a Windows update, Adobe Reader quit working for me. Deleting and re-installing the latest version didn't help. Adobe would crash any time I tried to open a pdf file. I wound up downloading Foxit Reader, and have used that since then for pdf files. I actually like it better than Adobe.
  4. I have seen some of my Family's photos from back in the mid to late 19th century with family members around the coffin of a deceased relative. The coffin was propped up to provide a better photo opportunity. This was shortly after photography was available to the general population, so the practice has been around for a while.
  5. I LOVE the red velvet cupcakes. They are the best! My cupcake had little heart sprinkles on it for Valentines Day!
  6. I feel sorry for Daffy Duck. She stole his mouth.
  7. It did sort of die already this season. It is time to move on. Maybe Hugh Laurie's next series can feature him speaking in his natural accent.
  8. Multiply the numerator and denominator by x/1, and you have (x+1)/(4x-1). I think that's as far as it goes until you have something on the other side of an equal sign.
  9. I'm not. I'm going to try it out. Went by today, but they were closed.
  10. Papi is right! (According to the woman's blog linked below - but it sounds plausible). My link
  11. Where did you have to go to take the course? It would be great if there was something like that around here!
  12. I've got my scooter, and passed the written test to get my permit. Now, what is involved with the driving test? I've heard it is really hard. When I went to the DMV in Carrolton to take the written test, I saw the area where they give the driving test. There was a sign that said practicing there was prohibited. I know there is a weave test, and some turn and stop tests. I'd like to practice beforehand. Could anyone give any details on what the driving test involves?
  13. I wonder if the robbers got any dough?
  14. We happened across a new little frozen yogurt shop in Hiram today. My wife found a coupon, so we went in to try it out. Their flavor selection was quite impressive. They have a lot of spigots mounted on the wall, and you just grab your cup and fill it with whatever flavor, or mixture of flavors you want. They also have a big selection of toppings. When you are done filling your cup, they weigh it and charge .41 per ounce. The pumpkin pie flavor was on sale for half off today. It was pretty good. I don't even remember the name of the place, but it is in the shopping center where Bird

  16. The link you provided shows that Phil Gingrey is not a co-sponsor. I couldn't find the listing of John Gingrey you mentioned. However, I am still sending him a note in opposition to this bill. I'm not using the automatic letter feature on the link, though. That looks like some sort of email skimming scheme, and I don't want to be deluged with unwanted emails from that group. So, I am sending the note directly to Congressman Gingrey's email address.
  17. The Little Ceasar's sign has been installed over the store front. The construction is still going on, and they are nowhere close to being ready for business, but the lighted sign is up.
  18. Thanks everyone. I just tried to dial the number from my office in Marietta, and I have to dial a 1 before the area code to get the call to go through. From home, in Paulding county, it goes through without the 1.
  19. Tried that. You don't have to dial a 1 from the Dallas area. But, I read somewhere that some 706 numbers are local for certain Atlanta metro areas, but long distance for others. I'll try that from work tomorrow to see if I have to dial a 1 from Marietta. This is my wife's argument. But, there are probably some people who still do use land lines, and if they try to call her, they may have to pay toll charges. And since she will also be using the phone for her incoming business calls, it might not be a good idea to have her local customers subjected to long distance charges.
  20. My wife got one of those pay by the minute Trac phones, and they gave her a number with a 706 area code. From what I have been able to find, her phone number prefix has a Rome calling center base. She called customer service, and the rep told her the number was in the local metro calling area. I don't really think Rome is in the metro local calling zone. Is there any way to tell if the phone number will be a long distance charge for people in the metro area that call her from their land lines?
  21. Looks like the sign went up today. It won't be long now until they are slinging pizzas out the door.
  22. Apparently the lady you sold it to is not an excellent driver.
