  1. Storms that come through at night after bedtime, hate those. Where is that dislike button?
  2. Ann - is there a minimum purchase amount required for the black Friday special?
  3. I like Pan Am. It's one of only two shows that I actually want to watch. I liked the episode last week about the emergency medical landing in Haiti. For people that either weren't around, weren't paying attention at the time or were too young to remember the early 1960's, it gave you a little bit of a history lesson about island politics and a window into President Duvalier's early years in power. I like tv shows that either make you think or teach you something. I will miss it if they pull the plug on it.
  4. They were driving down I-20 at 70+ mph with no lights on.
  5. Turkey green bean casserole cranberry sauce stuffing baked mac & cheese waldorf salad pumpkin pie
  6. Oatmeal. Does that count? I don't like cereal.
  7. I bought a box a while back and tried it. For instant coffee, it was very good.
  8. I agree! I bought them a week or so ago because they were so much cheaper and they were nasty.
  9. Brad's Deals @ www.bradsdeals.com I've been on their daily email list for a couple of years.
  10. I don't care for fried chicken or hot dogs. I like peanut butter though.
  11. I've done that a couple of times. Whenever I did, I always ended up with the tiniest, inside cabin that they had.
  12. A while back , couple of weeks or so ago, someone posted info about an available position that either they or the company that they work for was hiring for, I don't remember what the issue was but there was some kind of rule that you have to follow or something that you can't post. Can anybody tell me what that is? I have info about a full-time job opportunity that I would love to post but I want to make sure that I do it correctly.
  13. I got my tickets also. Thanks for the reminder. I haven't been to this in five years (or maybe longer than that) but it's always so much fun and you can't beat free!
  14. I signed up for Birchbox and received my first box last week. It's a fun way to try new things. I didn't really get anything that I would want to purchase but I did enjoy my bath this morning with my LaRocca Champagne & Shimmer Sugar Polish sample
  15. Oh I love them. Their products are wonderful. I've never tried their shampoo but I have a bathroom counter full of their skin care products. The olive fruit oil shampoo looks promising.
  16. Has anyone ever tried Wen? I've heard from others that use it that it is great and am thinking of trying it. It comes with a price tag that I find high for shampoo though. I'm not really into buying trendy or expensive stuff but their hair looks great consistently and they claim it's all because of Wen. If anyone else has tried it, I'd love to hear what you think. I have fine, thin hair and many shampoos make my scalp itch terribly because of their sulfate content. If you can recommend any other sulfate free shampoos, please do.
  17. Given that they had sores, I know that you did the right thing not only for your own safety but for the well-being of the animal itself. Had it presented itself with those same symptoms in a zoo or veterinary setting, it would have been euthanized. I would have done the same thing.
  18. Hmmm, I never said it wasn't wrong and I didn't see where anyone else did either. Nor did I say that she had a disease, I don't know the woman but then again you don't either. However, the people that do know her and have first hand knowledge of her behavior have said that she is a mental case. I would suspect that the people that know her, know a thing or two more about her than the average armchair psychoanalyst getting their info and forming their opinions based on what they see and hear in the media. I've been on this board long enough to know that you are a highly opinionated person and I
  19. We can speculate all day long but seriously, you don't think a mentally ill person can be intelligent enough to plan ahead? Mental illness doesn't always mean that you are drooling all over yourself in the corner. There are many people who suffer from bi-polar or borderline personality disorder(among the many disorders) that are highly intelligent. Mental illness can be of varying degrees and the same disorder can manifest itself differently in different people. While I truly value your opinion, something stands out in your statement that I must argue with - "I have a very hard time believing
  20. Unless you are crazy yourself or mentally unstable as this woman has been described as being, you won't be able to understand their actions or motivations. What seems absolutely insane to us as (relatively) normal people, may seem completely rational to them. I know a truly crazy person in real life and their thought process is something that I cannot begin to fathom or unravel. You can always tell when a mentally unstable person is either off their meds or isn't getting the medication that they truly need. Mental illness can make you capable of just about anything. Be careful who you marry an
  21. At 11 months old, my daughter had long been eating table food for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I came home from work early one day and caught her father feeding her spoons full of shrimp creole that he had made when she was about that age. I was sure that she was far too young for something that spicy but she loved it, ate it and demanded more. She started cereal somewhere between 3 & 4 weeks old. I do believe that if she had been given just a couple of little jars of food at lunch and then only a bottle at dinner, she would have been reaching over and grabbing food off my plate.
  22. Luckily we haven't had any coyotes in our area and hopefully won't. I should clarify that when I wrote that blurb, I wasn't really referring to coyotes but was leaning more towards opossum that were mentioned in an earlier post. We have a young opossum at work that was orphaned and he is the sweetest, albeit ugliest animal you will ever want to meet. He is used as an education animal to teach kids about wildlife in their area. Having gotten to know him, I realize it would have been a shame if someone had killed him.
  23. I know that I am in the minority and think differently than a lot of people but I don't kill animals simply because they come in my yard. If they endanger the lives of my family or my pets then I will but if they are simply passing through on their way somewhere else, I let it go. Some animals do carry disease and I do believe that they should be put down Armadillos can carry leprosy, opossum can be salmonella carriers through their excrement, a raccoon can carry rabies, squirrels can carry parasites into your yard. Great apes can even carry hepatitis B. Not that I expect to find any gorillas
  24. I have co-workers that are smokers and non-smokers. I've seen both take multiple breaks every day. I've seen some co-workers come to work and spend all day on the phone talking to their momma, their sister and a host of aunts, cousins, friends and anyone else that would answer the phone. I consider that as a break because there sure ain't any work being done during those phone calls. I also see people coming in 10 or 15 minutes late every morning and then cutting out 15 minutes early everyday. And then there are people that stretch their hour lunch into 80 or 90 minutes. The bottom line is tha
  25. I have two cats and both of them have strange habits in regards to the bathroom. One of them likes to watch the water swirl around in the bowl when you flush the toilet. The other one will actually pee in the toilet. He doesn't do it all the time but every once in a while he will. In the beginning. I thought that someone was getting into my house during the day while I was at work and using the toilet. I was really upset because I thought that someone had a key or was somehow getting inside the house. I would come home and it was obvious that someone had used it because they didn't flush after
