  1. David Lee Roth looks scary now.
  2. I recommend Dr. George Mygatt at Urology Associates in Douglasville. His office was near the hospital when we went to see him a few years ago.
  3. Univeristy of Alabama - Birmingham has a dental clinic at their campus. They are open to the public and work is done by their dental students and is supervised by instructors. They can handle just about anything. Call for an appointment:(205) 934-2700 weblink: http://www.dental.uab.edu/patients/become-a-patient/studentclinics.html
  4. I was getting a rash and super itchy hives every nearly every day for a couple of months but it always went away within an hour or so. I figured that I had suddenly become allergic to the dog or that it had something to do with the fact that I have very, very dry skin. I mentioned it to my dermatologist at my annual check up and he did some kind of scratch test on my arm. He said that I have high histamine levels and told me to take Claratin every day for six weeks. I'm on week four but the hives rarely make an appearance anymore. The rash doesn't show up at all anymore. Depression is a co
  5. I thought that I had water in my ears a couple of years ago. I had been swimming every day for a couple of months and my ears kept popping. They would feel full and then the feeling would dissipate for a while. When I talked, I could hear my own voice in my head and it sounded like I was in a tunnel. I tried everything I could think of for weeks. Ear drops, ear candles, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol...etc. I finally went to the ENT and he told me that there was no water in my ears, it was my sinuses. He gave me a prescription nose spray and that took care of it eventually.
  6. He likes La Grotta in Dunwoody and says it comes "close" to Grandma's kitchen. But alas, La Grotta is way too expensive to visit on a regular basis.
  7. My husband is Italian and both of his grandmothers (& grandfathers too) came here from Italy. He tells me that none of food that he eats at "Italian" restaurants is like what his grandmothers made at home.
  8. I heard here on P.com that the deal fell through on the Olive Garden. I can't remember specifically what was said, only that it was no longer a viable deal. I too would LOVE to see a Panera Bread in Hiram but since there is already one in West Cobb not too far away, that probably isn't going to happen. The closest thing we've had out this way was an Atlanta Bread Company where the bird watcher's supply store in Hiram is now.
  9. They look like either causalties of a bad economy or hippies that live on a bus to me. I am old enough to remember seeing hippies from the early - mid 70's that lived in this manner many times. It also kind of reminds of me of the Chevy Chase movie Christmas Vacation.
  10. Don't throw it away. Scentsy warmers make great gifts and they aren't cheap. You can always re-gift it to someone next Christmas. If you call the rep it was purchased from, she might offer to exchange it by mail.
  11. Happy new year Ann. I hope 2012 is a great year for you!
  12. I still write and mail thank you cards for each person that gave me a gift whether it was big or small.
  13. The ham is baking in the oven now. Collards, black-eyed peas and mashed potatoes will follow tomorrow. Or I might throw the collards in the crock pot tonight. Tranquility - do you put water in the crock pot with the collard greens?
  14. That's not far from where I live. I knew I'd seen that road somewhere and now I realize that I pass it on the way to Publix. I swear I'm beginning to feel like I live in the inner city with everything that goes on out here.
  15. Hitchcock Road is in South Paulding isn't? I'm trying to place the area and I'm thinking it's out towards New Georgia but not sure. Does anybody know?
  16. I just got back from the mall and Kohl's in D'ville. They were awful. Lots & lots of people and very long lines for returns and purchases. Way too crowded for me. My husband went to Arbor Place around 11 AM and he said it wasn't that bad but after lunch they started packing them in.
  17. Hearing the words tornado warning & Paulding County in the same sentence.
  18. I have to return the clothes that my husband bought me. I've gone up a whole size and he swears that he hadn't noticed.
  19. Although we have both always had the same hair & eye color, I thought that was where the similarities ended when my daughter was a child. She is 22 now and looks exactly like I did around that age. About the only physical attributes she inherited from her father's side of the family is a full, cupid's bow upper lip and a big bust. Both of which I would have killed for at her age. I was flat as a pancake with thin lips. The poor thing not only looks like me but seems to have my same body chemistry as well. We both have horrible allergies and our thyroid levels tend to run on the high side a
  20. My bank account is running dangerously low. Done or not, that's my red flag that tells me Christmas shopping has ended for the year.
  21. Congratulations!! I know that is an awesome moment when it happens. Wish I could have one of those moments too!
  22. Feeding the cats was the best part for me. The last time I went to the Crab Shack, there was only one cat hanging around. If there is more than one cat now, I can see where if you are feeding them shrimp they might tend to mob you though.
  23. My sweet, romantic husband proposed to me while strolling on the beach one night under a big bright moon.
  24. My husband asked me this question about a same sex couple the other day. He said "what does she see in her, she's not very attractive?" I had to remind him that this particular couple had been together for many years, probably close to 14 years. What they look like now is not what they looked like 14 years ago. People age, people change. What attracts people in the beginning might not be what keeps them in the relationship years later. Early in, a physical attraction might turn my head but it is a man's character and integrity that will keep me there for the duration.
