Most of the people in my neighborhood don't even get home until 5:30 - 6:00. We wait until dark here.

Well now ya know that some people think everything is always all about them. They are the center of their own universe and think that philosophy extends to the rest of us. Now if I see someone dressed as a middle-aged white woman for Halloween tonight, where do I go to file a lawsuit? Who do I need to see to get that nipped in the bud? Nobody should be able to exploit my age and race for their own amusement!!

How did that work out for her? LOL!!!

YAY......I heard that my bank is planning to drop the debt card fee
SusieQ404 replied to kittycat's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm telling ya, get rid of those banks and join a credit union!! I made the switch in 1997 and have never been charged a fee for anything. The only thing I pay for is new boxes of checks when I run out. Credit unions offer debit cards, on-line bill pay, remote deposit, transfers, mortgages, auto loans, etc. Everything that a traditional bank offers but credit unions do it cheaper and better for the consumer. -
It's sarcasm on his part, very tongue in cheek. I got it Mark and I agree. Kim K., a card carrying heterosexual, made a mockery of the institution of marriage (if the rumor pans out that she is truly filing for divorce already). Something that ultra conservatives like to pretend usually only happens with same sex marriages. She's a piece of fluff anyway though. I truly think she'd throw herself down a flight of stairs if it meant she was able to keep her face in the media and get some publicity out of it.

I always waited until it was dusk or dark. My rule for trick-or-treating with my child was that if the porch light is not on, we do not go to that door. It was the same way when I was kid. My mom told me that we would skip the houses with no lights on. It meant that they weren't participating or weren't home, etc. Unless of course the people were sitting in the driveway (or on the porch) with a bucket of candy. Then the porch light made no difference. So, because of that, I have always waited until the sun went down or was going down and the porch lights start coming on.

Most people have no idea who these nutbags are and are better off for it. Allow me to introduce them to you. Mr. Middle-Aged Pervert and Mrs. Teenage Skank. Collectively they are Mr. & Mrs. Publicity Whore. They did the entire world a favor by marrying each other so the rest of us wouldn't have to deal with them.

I believe in the freedom of speech and I can and will say "Merry Christmas" whenever I please.

Birchbox sounds pretty neat. I went to their website and decided that I am going to give them a try. I have been getting the $29 QVC beauty tube in the past where you get 8 or 9 good sized samples quarterly. While the samples are of some really good quality products that I would love to have, they are usually pretty expensive for the full size. Birchbox looks like it has a mix of inexpensive and moderately priced full sized products available. Thanks for the tip MMP!

I went once for dinner. I thought the food was average and didn't have any problems with it. I didn't like it because several of the teenagers that worked there were sitting at a booth behind us carrying on and were obnoxious. I know this might sound snobby but I think that they should have a designated a table either in the back or in the corner of the restaurant for them. They were standing around, hanging over the booths and making way too much noise to be in the main part of the dining room. Every five minutes or so one of them would jump up and run into the kitchen for something and the o

If he left you a phone number that actually works, I would say he's probably not lying. Did you try the number?

Thank you for the tips. I'm going to buy several of your suggestions and see which one works best for me. Somebody at work told me to try Mally's Starlight also. Supposedly it stays put so well that you have a hard time getting it off at night when it's time to go to bed.

I am hating my new Almay eye liner. It goes on easily but then smears after about a half hour. Can anyone reccommend a good eye liner pencil that is easy to apply, will stay put and won't smear? Has anyone tried the Tarte line? I've tried to use the liquid eyeliner and I just don't have a steady enough hand for that so I have to stick with the pencil kind.

I like Pan Am and would love to see it get to stay on the air. I don't like violence, don’t like the cop shows and don’t like the zombie/vampire/werewolves stuff. That doesn’t leave me with much to watch. Now that I think about it, I only like Pan Am and the Big Bang Theory. I hope they don’t end up yanking it from the lineup.

Even with a holiday and two furlough days, your bill should not be doubled or even close to doubled. Four or five extra days in a billing cycle do not equate to a $20 bill becoming $40 or a $30 bill becoming $60, etc. When I complained about by bill, that is what I told - that it must be because of the extra days in the billing cycle. Five extra days in a billing cycle would add less than $5 to my bill. My bill increased by $20 which was double the norm.

Darn it. I've been waiting on it to get late to go out and look. I was thinking sometime between 11 - midnight. I just read the blog for NASA in Huntsville, AL and they said it happened there last night around 8:45 PM. Oh well, missed it again probably!

Maks is really hot and him standing up for his partner last night just made him even hotter in my book. But alas, sometimes DWTS looks more like a popularity contest than a dance contest. People (& judges) seem to vote based on anything other than dancing skill and ability at times.

She doesn't live in the same reality that we do. If she did, she wouldn't have appeared in public in that getup. When you go to court you need to look respectable and responsible. Even if you aren't respectable and responsible, most people understand the need to at least appear that way to the judge. You shouldn't dress like a hoochie mama and then pitch a fit and cry to the news crew that you were treated unfairly. Must have been a slow news day because this story does not deserve to be covered by the paper on the back page much less on air during the nightly news.

Channel 11 and the AJC said that the northern lights were visible in Georgia last night and across the country. Did anybody see them that could tell me if they are worth staying up for tonight? There were some pictures posted and it looks like GA, AL and other southern states pretty much had a red sky while a little farther north they got the red and green.

I've been getting mine annually for the last several years. Last year I caught some kind of virus a month or so afterwards and was sick but it wasn't the flu. I haven't had the flu since I started getting the shot. A sore shoulder for a few hours is worth not lying in bed for a week feeling like Im going to die. My husband gets his each year also and I try to drag my adult child to get hers somewhere each year.

We had a doe in the backyard and she kept making noises that sounded like sneezing. I thought it was sneezing but someone else said that deer make a blowing noise to alert other deer not to come around because of danger in the area (people). So, which is correct?

The BOLO was cancelled. Apparently the teenage girl wasn't telling the whole truth. BOLO for Crown Vic CANCELLED!!! Please DISREGARD the press release that was just sent out. Detectives originally believed that the incident described by the victim was credible. The investigation now confirms that the situation did NOT happen the way that it was described. There is NO lookout on the vehicle described.

If my mother were here, she'd tell you that they act like trash. Or she'd say that they were being raised by a piece of trash.

I learned a long time ago that rank and file workers are usually the last to know what goes on. I've had that happen to me several times over the years at different places that I've worked.

I would hate to see the US postal service go bankrupt or have to cut services back to bare bones. This organization has been around and managed to survive since 1775 when Benjamin Franklin was their Postmaster general. I'm sure they will find a way to keep going but I think I'll help them out a little more than I have been lately and mail some letters instead of sending emails. Maybe this year I'll send Christmas cards again like I used to.
