Good luck! That's a hard one (for me) to give up. I've tried stevia.

I think it's great. He took a stand and made his point with humor. Good for him.

I think you should go out to dinner for your birthday and celebrate the beginning of another year. A year where things WILL get better. What day next week is your birthday? I'd be happy to take you to dinner.

IMO, yes, they most likely are lying and hiding behind Obamacare as an excuse to cut costs and make someone else look like the bad guy. It's good cop / bad cop on a grander scale. That's just my opinion though.

Which company? Your husband's company, UPS or the company that I worked for that did it?
-
I worked for a company that did this way back in the early 2000s. In 2004 they started charging a $150 per month 'service charge' to carry insurance on spouses that could be covered elsewhere, such as through their own employers. In 2006, they stopped offering coverage for spouses that could be covered elsewhere unless there were extenuating circumstances that were approved by a committee. It saved the company money and that was their motive then. It had nothing to do with anything else. It certainly had nothing to do with Obamacare way back then.

Paulding Foxfire Project for Southern Flight 242 Crash
SusieQ404 replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think this is a superb idea. I've visited the Foxfire museum up in the mountains and always thought that it was an ingenious idea. I've read some of the books also and was glad that someone took the time to preserve all of the 'old ways' before they were forgotten. Surely there are some high school students in Paulding who have a mind towards a career in journalism. My uncle worked on something similar to this many years ago in Augusta, GA. It was more of an oral history project but even that would be worth looking into. http://www.aug.edu/~liblsc/Archives_Month_2012/AugustaOralHistoryProj -
Happy birthday!

I just got back from the store on Brownsville. The ground beef at $2.08 per pound is the 70/30 mix. They have the 80/20 for $2.92 a pound. The t-bones were picked over. They were out of the individually wrapped but had the family packs with 3 steaks per pack. The family pack steaks have the filet part cut off. I got the last steak that was individually wrapped and it still had the filet attached. It's a big, huge beautiful steak that truly made my day. I'm definitely a red meat loving carnivore! Going back tomorrow to see what they have. I'm sure they'll be bringing more out.

I was at the baby sitter's house playing with her daughter. It didn't have much of an impact on me. -
I saw it too. It was really cheap, like $79 per night. I can't find it anymore though.

The Canterbury Tales in senior English. Hated it then, still hate it.
-
Mine too. It actually looks like a sink hole is forming and I'm worried about it.

Spend the night at one of the hotels inside Stone Mountain Park. Watch the laser show, ride the boat, tour the plantation, ride the ducks.

That's very good advice. My daughter does not have insurance. The doctor's office that she uses in Duluth is aware of that and they have the Walmart, Publix and Kroger discount lists in their office for their reference. They always try to prescribe her medication off of those lists to make it affordable for her. But doctors don't know if you're having a hard time financially with filling your prescriptions unless you tell them. Be clear about it. Don't drop hints and hope they pick up on it.

A couple of questions about a cruise.........

On Carnival, you will be given an envelope to tip the maitre d. His tip is not included in your daily rate. We always tip the bar tender and the person hat delivers room service also. -
My little brother moved to Montana about a year ago. He loves it and it is a beautiful place. Summer is a longer season than in the Dakotas. He spends a lot of time in Glacier National Park. I would love to live there.

I give my dog the Walmart equivalent of Benadryl. He's never had a problem with it but it does make him sleepy.

I found one on VRBO in Seiverville that I stayed in over the 4th of July holiday. It's about 2 miles from the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Loved it! It's up a steep gravel road though so don't load the trunk so full that it drags the ground! http://www.vrbo.com/253763?cid=E_poststay2_CY_T_20130714_VBpost_PropertyURL

They are adults, let them move out. Then you can get a couple of roommates and rent out your kid's bedrooms. That will bring some money in and help you out financially.

Upcoming Concerts, Festivals, Shows, and More
SusieQ404 replied to accesspaulding's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thank you. This is how I found out that Atlanta Rhythm Section was playing in Carrollton a couple of weeks ago. And how I found out that Marshall Tucker Band will be in Woodstock next month. I like knowing what's going in the towns around the area because not much goes on in Paulding. -
I went this past weekend and wasn't impressed or very happy with it. My food was greasy and bland and I truly didn't like it much less enjoy it. I wasn't really happy with the table full of employees on break (at least I assume they were on break) directly behind me that were carrying on either.

I heard something a while ago over here in South Paulding that I thought was thunder. It was loud and there was no rain. Was that plane really loud?

Sometimes, I think that I don't like a particular food but I've found that it might taste better if it's prepared differently. I had fried alligator bites once at a bar in New Orleans and didn't like them. They were greasy and tough. But then I had alligator bisque at Antoine's a few days later and it was delicious. And once I opened a can of rutabagas & gave my husband some. He said that they were horrible and the worst thing he'd ever eaten. But we went to brunch in Madison, GA one day and I ordered the rutabagas. He loved them. Couldn't believe they were the same veggie that he had tri

I don't like lamb, veal, duck, venison or rabbit. Chicken is not one of my favorites either but I'll eat it. I like pork chops but I really like red meat. A big steak and a baked potato are my favorites.
