  1. Thank you! And tomorrow is our daughter's 20th birthday! We keep Valentine's Day busy around here. We were engaged on Valentine's Day, 3 years later we were married on Valentine's Day, and 3 years later I went into labor on Valentine's Day. We have 2 wonderful children. Our oldest will be 22 next month, and has been married for over 2 years now. Our daughter is a sophomore at Mercer and doing wonderful! We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
  2. The Art Of A Good Marriage Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. In marriage the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that g
  3. Just an FYI: I don't get Nixle reports overnight. You can set it up to not run during certain hours.
  4. Oprah pretty much called the girl a liar and said she asked for it. That she wanted him because he was a big football star. That's why she chose to lose her virginity in a romantic setting like a trailer at school that she was cleaning to help her mom who was a custodian cleaning another trailer.
  5. Many, many, many statutory rape convictions are out and out child molesters who have a plea bargain deal. In reality, many of these statutory rapes were girls 12 or under and males 20 or older. The DA goes for the plea bargain to save money, guarantee sex offender registry, and keep the young child from having to testify in open court. I wish our registry system told the age and sex of the victim and the year of the crime, what it was plea bargained down from, and whether any type of force or coercion was used. It would help parents get a better idea of the real case, and get people to st
  6. We need to do a poll and see how many pcommers have lost their job in the last year. I know I am among them.
  7. They didn't match though. 50th percentile in height is fine as long as you are 50th percentile in weight, but when the weight is 25th percentile, then you have a major problem.
  8. Man! I hate to hear that. I knew his health has been precarious for a while. I was hoping he would be able to get better and get back to what he loved.
  9. I have no problem with carrying weapons. None at all. And I have no problem using one to protect myself or my family or even any other person, but I am concerned that this bill including so many things as weapons might pose a problem. If you have to register to carry a pocketknife or a baseball bat in your car, then you can lose your right to carry weapons if it is discovered. Needs a little common sense added in.
  10. The part that gets me is "any bat." I guess that would mean baseball and softball team members better register if they plan to carry their equipment anywhere. I see problems with it. I think the original intent was good, but like Zero Tolerance, it leaves the door wide open for stupidity.
  11. Life is about laughter and tears. If you can remember your sister with a laugh, then you are giving her a beautiful gift. The tears are there, but she would never want you to focus on those. She would want you to laugh at the memories and remember all the wonderful moments in her life. Remember the times she totally ticked you off, remember the times she screwed up royally, remember the times she cried, remember the times she stood by you, but mostly, remember those moments where she made you smile.
  12. I am thinking about getting a big mailbox and placing a smaller one inside and filling the inside with rubber around the smaller one. That way, when they hit it, the bat bounces back and beats the hell out of their car.
  13. I would have to say going into labor. lol! The day after was pretty good, I had a baby, but Valentine's Day was labor day around here. To top it off, it was our 3rd wedding anniversary, as well. It tends to be a busy day in our house. We were engaged on Valentine's Day. 3 years later, we were married on Valentine's Day. And 3 years later, I went into labor on Valentine's Day. Celebrating our 23rd anniversary this year. Real worst gift . . . my kids brought me a stray dog with mange. Oh boy! Oh boy!
  14. Hooray! The prayers are working. Another big prayer boost may just get her home and playing again.
  15. Any improvement is an answered prayer. We need many more prayers to see a huge improvement!
  16. I had someone ask to be my friend from my first high school. We had several friends in common and she talked like she knew me. I could not place her to save my life! I then get a message from a friend from my more recent life. Turns out, while this woman DID go to the same high school I did, she DID NOT know me. She had been stalking and harassing my other friend and saw I was friends with her. She told people that I had told her all this trash on my friend. It was pure BS. I hadn't seen my friend in a couple of years, and I never said more than 'Hi!' and "I hope you're doing well" to this oth
  17. I parked in an end parking space once, and when I do that, I pull nearly on the curb. It means the parking place next to me has a TON of room because I am on the very end of the row. When I came back to my car, some idiot had parked so close to my car that I couldn't even open my door AT ALL. I stood there dumfuzzled. And I have a little car! I finally had to crawl in from the passenger side. No easy feat! Like I said, small car. Bucket seats, shifter in the middle, and I am not a petite woman. Only time I really thought about keying a car. I didn't, but I thought it. I did have some jerk
  18. We have had DirecTV for years. Customer service has always been fine. No 5 hour holds on the phone and they fix it right away. We don't have any extra boxes, so I can't help there. We do have premium channels, and I hate paying extra for that, but they all do that. And sometimes, they have free premium channel preview weekends, which is pretty cool.
  19. Welcome to the club! It was hard at first. Now, I just don't even worry anymore. It seems pointless to stress over something I can't change right now. Just using this time to do things for myself and make plans for our future.
  20. I am so sorry! I'm glad you were able to be with her as she made her transition. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
  21. We have that in our family. I have an Alicia, and my niece (husband's side) is Ashley. And the boys both start with a "C", but one of them goes by his middle name. They are cousins though. Not quite the same as siblings. Funny thing is, when I was 12, I planned to name my kids Brianne, Brandon, Brenna, Bryce, etc. All "Br" names. Thank God I changed my mind! Sort of. My daughter's middle name IS Brianne. And I gotta agree with cilantro. It tastes like bleach to me. Especially, when they pile it in.
  22. Man! I gotta tell my husband! He loves that show.
