The day care wanted me to allow the other children to bite her back. I refused! First of all, how do they control how hard the other child bites? How do they control the germs? And why would they want to encourage another child to start biting? I thought that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard. An adult, maybe, but I still didn't like it. I wanted to stop biting, not make it keep going.

I tried using a bit of soap on the tongue. Didn't really work out for mine. I used a washcloth and pulled (gently!) on her teeth and told her I was going to have to pull them out if she bit again. It seemed to have some impact. And my mom (bless her heart!) said, "Dear God, please make her pretty little teeth all fall out if she bites her brother again." (I changed it to take out my kids names.) My daughter boo-hooed, but the biting did stop around that time. Honestly, I think the washcloth thing worked best. It feels weird and scares them enough to remember it.
