It's my understanding that they haven't even charged this kid with anything yet, they're slowly figuring out exactly what laws were broken to define which courts, federal vs state, will be involved. The defence will be to blame everything on the older brother and that this kid was just under Timerlans influence. He knew nothing, didn't know what was in the bag, didn't know what was going to happen, or didn't understand the consequences of his actions. He was just a puppet. If the jury buys it they won't give the death sentence.

We used the "must be tagged" requirement when I was involved with my homeowners association in Douglas County. Problem is, enforcement can't go on the property to see if it's tagged, they can only observe from the street (I'm guessing that they'd need a warrant to enter the property). Knowing this homeowners would park cars with the rear toward the house or park junk cars in the back yard.

I haven't heard of any widening activity that'll occur in that section of 92. The section to the south will utilize the bypasses, not sure what the plan is to the north. Did you notice that there are zoning variance signs on the property to the north of the animal hospital? Right behind the old Hiram ES sign, not sure what might be planned there. Oops, sorry, trying to be informative when this thread is supposed to be dramatic...I meant to say "Oh yeah? You're one too!" LOL

There were three in that area, one in front of the animal hospital and two in front of the hair salon across the street. The tree located between the parking lot of the hair salon and the street to the right has been reduced to a rather large stump. It's possible that the tree was weakened from insects or diseased and it had to be cut down or it was posing a threat to the roadway. It does look odd without it there.

Cuccumbers and squash seeds went in the ground last weekend and I bought tomato and pepper plants that'll go in probably this week. Son needs to grow cabbage for school, something about a scholarship. Got onions and I bet some pumpkins'll come up from last year, I had a ripe basketball sized pumpkin ready for the 4th of July.

Something to consider: I lived in my last house for 15 years, never late on a payment, did one refi to lower my rate and pulled $1300 to paint it and do some maintenance, the lawn was well landscaped and always cut (won yard of the month every year I was there), in otherwords, I did what I was expected to do. The place finally sold after a year on the market at a loss and that was because the assessment came in so low based on the value of surrouding properties and foreclosure sales in the subdivision. If I had let it go into foreclosure do you really think I would care of how the house looked

What TV Shows do you own the entire collection of

The Three Stooges less the final series with Joe Dirita, don't care for Joe. Had The Civil War on VHS but I think it may have been tossed. -
They're having some free concerts at the Olympic Park including Zac Brown but I don't really want to go down there and get caught up in that crowd.

It it were legal at least we'd have some different commercials on TV. Have ya seen the one for Viagra where the guy gets his truck stuck in the mud out in the middle of nowhere and gets the horses out of the trailer to pull him out? The horses aren't pulling to get the truck out, they're running from this guy that's been by himself all day, popping blue pills, and is sporting a bit of the blue steel. "Ppppsss, RUN he's got that look in his eyes again! Pppppsssst".

"Ear plugs" just my bill-paying humble opinion

When I was a pre-teen back in the 70's I'd go round and round with my old man about the length of my hair, "When you gonna get it cut?", "It's too long!", etc. The older I get the more I find that I'm turning into my Dad (and it's not a bad thing) but one thing I won't do is become one of these old fuddy-duddies that sits around complaining about todays styles. To each his own. JMHO -
North Georgia sits on top of a lot of granite and when it degrades it generates radon. Simple to test for. Remediation simply vents from under the structure out the roof, kinda like a dryer vent.

There was a time when adding a storage building added value to the property therefore it was taxed. These days ya put a shed out back and your value goes down.....

I avoid that section even going north, traffic stinks certain times of the day. But now with Cleburn closed (how long is that to last?) choices are limited.

For the Douglas-Paulding work planned for 92 go to www.gahwy92.com for plans, videos, status, etc. (they've spent a lot of money on this thing so far and have begun to purchase and demo properties in the Douglas County portion). I haven't heard of any changes since I attended several public meetings last year, this section will include expansion of 92 to 6 lanes up to Bill Carruth then 4 lanes to Nebo where it's already 4 lanes. As far as I know there are no plans to add lanes through downtown Hiram. I noticed a bunch of pink flagging north of 278 on 92 yesterday but it looked more like a

Soooo many "egg hunts", wonder if kids are tired of them!
Spucketts replied to jazzygirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I remember as a kid coloring a dozen or two eggs and they would be hidden outside and the trick was to look for the eggs so that you would find an Easter basket, it held the candy and maybe a prize. We didn't color any eggs this year. The kids had a hunt at daycare on Friday, got baskets Sunday morning and we got together with friends on Sunday afternoon. The total of plastic eggs hidden yesterday afternoon was some 435 eggs for 8 kids and we didn't hide one walmart bag of eggs because we had nowhere to put them. Now we have candy out the ying-yang, had to throw out the last of the Christ -
Gay this and gay that...i'm sick of hearing about it
Spucketts replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Since when did the media ever focus on whats important to the public in general? Or on what for the betterment of the American people? They report on what they deem to be important to them and there's a lot of gays in the media. Although not a gay-centric example, last nights ABC Evening news (which just happened to be on and I couldn't reach the remote) spent 10 minutes on the top stories and the rest of their half hour on a story about them helping a lady get her medical bills reduced and on a story about an orphaned ape that involved one of their reporters dressing up in a furry ape co -
My wife saw this accident yesterday and noted that there was a car seat in the back of the black sedan and two ambulances left the scene. Yeah, the left front of the bus hit the left rear of the car, they couldn't have been traveling in the same lane.

Movie Mogul buys 858 acre plot in Douglas County

Yeah, in his new epic "Saving Private Madea". -
It's a shame that this property isn't viable, really unique both inside and out. I noticed yesterday that the blue tarps put on the roof are falling apart, those shake shingles are going to be costly to replace. Bet theres interior water damage too. I guess the property is just in the wrong location.

You been shopping at Achbar's Phone Bazaar? "When ready you push special red button, but only when you are ready, get BIG surprise! BOOM!" -
Since it's already been voted on you won't see another referendum on this issue for years to come. Makes no difference anyway, you can go to any municipality that voted yes and buy if you want to, simply a "feel good" out come.

While it might be an interesting question to ask, be careful what you do with the information. Do not get into this life comparison thing where you look at someone elses life and think "I should be there" or "I should have that", that kind of thinking is a load of crap. Been there, done that. Everyones life journey is different, rejoice in the one YOU have.

There was a case similar to this in Douglas County a few years ago. A bunch of boys got a hotel room near Six Flags and had a party with alcohol and some pot, they got a girl there who was over 16 who brought a girl that was 13 or 14. The older girl was throwing up drunk and there was a question as to whether she gave consent or could even give consent. The younger girl was also sexually involved but at her age she couldn't legally give consent in the first place. The case got a lot of media attention because the one boy who wouldn't take a plea, was going to be tagged with a sex offender stat

But you can't ignore the fact that the policies of the Pope has the potential to affect the politics of over 83 million people in the US and over 1 billion people worldwide. However it is ironic that the fastest growing group of Catholics in the US and their conservative religious beliefs are more associated with the Democratic party.
