  2. I would join you, but I am stuck in the office at our warehouse in S. GA.
  3. I was always told that my mother made the best fried chicken and considering the ladies that said it, it must have been true. (cause those ladies could cook) However, she has bought Church's chicken for the past 10 years or more, rather than cook.
  4. He was also married to John Ford's daughter.
  5. Which one of the Sons of the Pioneers went on to have a good movie and TV career?
  6. And the question is, "What is a bus full of lawyers going over a cliff called?"
  7. Dang, TX is tough. The smell of pot make me nauseous. Well it did the last time I smelled it back in 1982. No, I wasn't smoking it, I quit smoking pot in 1974.
  8. I have been late with library books, I'm talking years late. And I still owe Smyrna Public Library for some overdue fines. I am hoping to outlive the library ladies, but those old biddies just keep on hanging in there. I also removed a tag from a mattress one time. Ok, it was two times. I have recorded and reproduced ball games without the express written permission of MLB. But worst of all, I have lusted in my heart....and I don't care, that Betty Rubble is a looker.
  9. I agree. That was me, I didn't like the old players looks. It is my understanding, and I could be wrong here, that they were going with youth, a lot of our OL players were getting long in the tooth.
  10. Our refrigerator went south Christmas Eve. Long story short, mainly due to time, we used a guy from the Douglasville area, he came out on the 26th, and for $150 total, replaced the electric panel board thingy. (not sure that is the technical term) I am not at home at this week or I would PM you the number. I can do so later tonight and will. just in case you still need someone. ETA He was originally from Haiti and has his own business of appliance repair.
  11. Not to say I told ya so, but I told y'all this would be a bad year. Not psychic, just been there done that. They did real well in 2012 with some smoke/mirrors and luck. But they ended the season needing less than 10 yards with 4 tries and couldn't get it done. They started this year needed 10 yards with 4 tries and couldn't get it done.
  12. I would not say a scrooge. I'm a scrooge. Bah Humbug! I do have a few thoughts. One, you have a right to not wish to have presents. Two, it is a gift to others to allow them to give you a gift. (I have a hard time with accepting gifts, I have gotten better. I had to be told how to accept a gift as I had no idea how to accept a gift. You say, "thank you". That's it. Who knew?) Three, perhaps when they ask what to get you, ask them to make a donation to a charity of your choice in your name.
  13. Heck, I can barely make it today. I'm sure that back then I would have been one of the 1st ones gone. If Darwin didn't get me, then someone would have done away with me, just to shut up my whining. (on the wagon train west....are we there yet? can we stop for hamburgers? I need a Diet Coke. are we there yet? what, no motels? I need something sweet? are we there yet?)
  14. The Man Who Came to Dinner The Thin Man White Heat Little Caesar Bullets or Ballots High Plains Drifter Cabaret Nosferatu His Girl Friday The Big Sleep The Public Enemy ETA These are what I recorded, the wife has some in the first 10, but I never watch them, so I didn't count them. (in fact, I have no clue what they are)
  15. I thought everyone knew how to cook. That is where you take something out of the freezer, take it out of the box, put it in the microwave and wait for the "ding".
  16. If he does, let me know and will toss him a buck. I go there a lot.
  17. Try Truecar, it has been helpful to a lot of people I know. ETA www.truecar.com
  18. Whew! I thought you were a neighbor for a moment.
  19. You are not alone, but I am not one of y'all. Maybe growing up without a dishwasher and hand washing them makes a difference.
  20. I am sorry, but this cracked me up. I have to ask, why would you clean them and then put them in the dishwasher? Unless by scrubbing, you mean getting everything off of them. My mother's dishwasher, that she had since 1956, finally quit in January of 2006. Well, not so much quit, as passed on, my dad always did the dishes. Since then, she has had to do them herself. (they were 3 months away from their 50th, I told her we would give it to her anyway, I am pretty sure he wasn't divorcing her in those 3 months...at least he never said he was )
