I'm talking about you in your job. Why don't you suggest to your employer that all employees salary be cut so the cost of goods and services is lower? All of those other people who had their pay cut also saw their employer drop the cost of the products to reflect the lower wages, right?

I wonder if everyone here is willing to have their salary cut by 10% so their employer would be able to cut the cost of their goods and services. That would lower the cost of everything in society. If raising the wages increases all costs, then lowering wages would have the opposite effect. So why not just lower everyone's wages?

Why quit working and give up the tax free HSA money available to you? If you can "make it work" with you not working, then "make it work" by paying the deductibles and save all that HSA money. This is how the health insurance plans work and after the Wellstar meetings last week, I now understand how to use the plan for my benefit. By merely paying the deductibles out of pocket at the lower cash rate, my husband and I will have more than $125,000 tax free money for us at retirement. Not a bad deal for just 20 years.

ObamaCare has nothing to do with this change in health plans. This is something that companies have been doing for a very long time because it is a cost saving move for them. Wellstar sets aside money to cover its employees and the non-covered family members. It should not be up to Wellstar to subsidize your employer's health plan with you being on Wellstar's plan and not your own employer. You will no longer be allowed to pay a "penalty" and be on the Wellstar plan if your employer offers a plan. Wellstar is not dropping spouses from the health plan if the spouse is covered under their own employer's plan. For spouses who do not have the option of enrolling in their own employer's plan, those spouses may still be retained on the Wellstar Family Plan. If a spouse has an employer plan, then the spouse has to enroll in that plan. It is not the place of Wellstar to subsidize the health plans of other employers. Wellstar takes care of its employees and family members without access to insurance coverage. This is nothing new and companies have been doing this or many years to help with costs

If your wife says she has not been told, she is either lying or you are lying. Every employee has had the new plan explained to them and there have already been several informational meetings, with many more coming up. If your wife wants to learn more, all she has to do is ask her manager to explain it, or go to one of the many scheduled meetings. It is not Wellstar's place to subsidize your employer's plan. If you don't like the plan your employer provides, look for another job.

That is not accurate. Wellstar is no longer subsidizing other employers. If a spouse's employer offers insurance, that person needs to be on that company's plan. If the spouse's company is not offering a plan, the spouse is still covered under the family plan.

I am going to call bs on this. If the father is working, the employer is reporting income and doing the withholding. The IRS knows if there is income no matter what they claim. Go to your GP. The first test will be an ultra sound to make sure there are no stones. If that is negative, the next step is to just wait and see if this was a temporary flare up. After that there is the HIDA scan that measures the gall bladders ability to function. The next step after that is to schedule an outpatient surgery. It is usually routine and maybe a week to 10 days recovery at the most. Don't delay it. The pain you're having could be something else, something serious, something minor, or nothing at all. In my right mind. My family and I would decide the time and place. We would have a great meal and some time for talking. I would pick my music, meal and everything else. After we've all said our goodbyes, I would have a few people I want with me. The doctor would then come in and for a physician assisted suicide. That's how I want to go. No suffering. No pain.
