My general practictioner used to talk about the politics of all this. He doesn't any longer. He used to talk about how it would put him out of business and how all the doctors would be quiting. So far, he is still seeing patients and so is the group. I'm just waiting to see what happens. If things don't go all to hell, will people apologize for saying it was going that way? If it turns out to be an awful piece of sheeze legislation, will the supporters admit their idea didn't work? Will we then try to fix the problem with tweaks or just go back to what we have now that is not working at all?

Why don't we all just wait and see what happens? A lot of the talk about what the taxes will be and how people will abuse they system is just talk because we don't know how all of this will work yet. I'm surprised at the sudden number of tax and experts on the law. None of us are qualified to answer the questions so let's just wait, see what happens, fix it when we see a problem, and give it a try? At least try something!

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Mr Heath introduce a bill outlawing female genitalia mutilation? -
I'm at my wits end with new mounds popping overnight. I put the stuff on one mound and the next day there will be two more nearby. What are all of yo doing to stop these little bastards?

NO CRYING KIDS ALLOWED IN ATLANTA RESTAURANT
stercus tauri replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is so true. Same with students in the school that are always getting in trouble, not turning in their work, talking or causing problems. If the parents would be a parent at home, the kids would know that their behavior at school had better be top notch. Teachers always get blamed for the kids' failures but the teacher can only work with what the kid is willing to do, and if the kid is acting like the parent does at home, no wonder the kid is always in trouble. -
Rain now means the lakes will be a bit more full for summer so I'm hoping for more rain. No storms, please.

I went there a few days ago. It was good for what it was. It's not Ruth's Chris but it is good chicken.

Dr. Mark Wolfe and his staff across from Hardy Ford are wonderful.

Very clever! I had to go back to my high school algebra but solving and plotting on the graph gives the "question" so my "casual" answer is the normal response ... Sup!

I like this one. It is not a reality show. Not at all.

Finish Steven Hawking's The Grand Design and then read his The Stuff That Dreams is Made Of. The last book I want to read is Rob Bell's Love Wins. If I can finish those three with all the other stuff I have to do, it will be a good year.

Mine is simple. 1. Get organized. 2. Find a job. 3. Drink more. 4. Laugh a lot more. 5. Exercise more. 6. Less of the Drama Whores in my life. (Some family members have already disappeared from by cell phone.) 7. Less time working around the house. 8. Less worry about other people, the world and things I can't control. 9. Celebrate people for who they are, not what Drama Whores want them to be. (Directed totally at my family.) 10. Waste more time with my husband and kids and enjoy it a lot more.

We always stay at the Grove Park Inn. It is a nice place and it is not terribly expensive. I checked for January arrival and they have a special Winter Retreat Bed and Breakfast Package for only $192 a night.

I give to both large and small, national and local. The big charities have a lot of overhead to get that money to a lot of needy places. Local can do only local things. It is about what you're looking for and trying do, I guess.

Why are we locking up people with the dumb War on Drugs? Meth and Coke I undestand. Pot for personal use, I dont get it. If we stopped locking up people for non violent and small drug crimes, we could solve a lot of problems.

I so love Savannah. I do think Paula Dean's place is overrated. There are some really good places to eat there. I usually stay at the Avia Hotel when I go. Lovely hotel with very modern amenities.

Bank of America Settles Lending Discrimination Suit

Why are you doing this to yourself? Arguing with these people does you nor anyone else any good. Just ignore them because they are not interested in discussion or the facts. If you ignore them, the world is a better place because they will go to some other corner of the internet and fade away. -
This year we are spending about the same amount but we are giving the family a trip. The whole family, including my husband's brother and sister, are taking a cruise to the Bahamas and on the day we are in Nassau we are doing an all day excursion to my favorite private island. This is only a week cruise but it will be great to spend time with the family but still be able to get away from them when I want some me time. Already got my spa scheduled!

I looked at the Volvo XC 60. I liked the size and features a lot. I settled on the Mercedes GLK. Same size. Same cost. Just fit me better. So far I've had the 2011 for a few months now and really like it. The Volvo was my second choice.
