  1. Check with your primary care doctor who will be able to provide a referral to fit your situation and that is approved with your insurance. PCP is the first place to seek answers.
  2. My insurance went down $280 per month because I had to drop my husband and he has to go on his employer's plan. He will pay $160 per month for his coverage. That will mean a net savings of $120 per month in insurance premiums. That will mean he and I both will be able to do HSA, a 30% tax savings right off the bat and, if we don't touch it, a bucket of more than $100k at retirement tax free. Not a bad deal.
  3. AHA is constitutional. Government's "actual function?" That is a political perspective you have, one that the majority of the country and the Supreme Court says is not accurate. Eric Erickson? A propagandist hack?
  4. Not at all. my statement had was not a reason for the site's failure at all. You're reading into my words. I was making a general comment. I was just making a general comment on the calls for the cutting budgets, shrinking government, cutting government employees, cutting government pay, extolling the virtue of private enterprise and the best employees going to the private sector. Then the very people who are dismantling the ability for government to function then point to government failures. It is just hypocritical. If you want the best, you have to pay for it., and that includes governm
  5. Very hard to do something when it goes to the lowest bidder, with less and less government spending, while the best and brightest work for the private sector that pays the most and don't do government contracts. In other words, the site roll out was already in a fail mode, just like all government programs that are being hacked to death by the very politicians running on a platform to dismantle the government. Gotta love the hypocrisy.
  6. Why are you doing this to yourself? You are not going to be able to discuss reasonably with people that are extremists, who listen to nothing but propaganda all day, and really don't want to believe anything but what they want to be true. Just ignore them. The rest of the nation has already does.
  7. These are private insurance companies. The government is not handling the money nor providing the insurance. You're right. Pay the government employees the worst so the taxpayer gets little for their money, and that makes it easy to show how bad government is, and that means we will then shut it down. Anarchy is calling.
  8. Education is much better than in 1979. Scores are higher. Graduation rates are higher. All levels of measurement are up over 1979.
  9. When the government is not allowed to pay the scale that attracts the best and the brightest, this is what happens. Our politicians set up a system that doesn't encourage the best to apply for Uncle Sam work. Did we not elect the very people who said government employees are overpaid?
  10. There is a reason the Airport Authority is not under the purview of the County Commissioners. It's called the law. If you don't like what the airport authority did, there is an election every 4 years for the Commissioners. Elections have consequences. When we elect somebody, they are allowed to do things. That's the way it works.
  11. The sex offender registry became federally mandated in 1994 and again with another law in 1996. The US House was adamant to get this sort of registry passed and mandated many of the requirements for what must be included. So we can blame the politicians in control of Congress in 1994 and 1996.
  12. Don't forget the best and brightest don't work for Uncle Sam because the pay is low and is kept low by the political process that says government employees should be paid less than their private employer counterparts. So the best don't work for the government. The best companies don't get the contracts because the best costs more. The best way to have done this was not used because the politicians and we the people demanded costs be cut. When you set up a system to fail and then it does fail, why are we surprised? It's like the people that lament the big bad government but get elected, ma
  13. It's not government insurance but private insurance. $500 per year with a $4500 deductible is dirt cheap. So you're not getting any insurance. That means if something happens to you and you can't pay the bill, the taxpayer will have to cover it for you. Thanks a lot.
  14. This is how it works. I don't know why people have such a hard time getting this.
  15. It doesn't matter. If the kids were waiting near the stop, they are under the rules of school. Even if private property.
  16. My question to those that don't like ObamaCare is, "Where is your proposal to replace it?" Just saying it is bad with no offer of something to fix it is crazy.
  17. The law extends to the bus stop. The kids were waiting on the bus and that makes them and their actions answerable to the school. This is the way it has been for a long time, and should be.
  18. Always bad examples in everything. Without the HOA, the neighbor can paint the house bright purple. There are trade offs in all situations.
  19. When RomneyCare went into effect, it was said to cost jobs, be unaffordable, and would cost a gazillion dollars. Everyone hated it. It went into effect and now they love it, found out it didn't cost jobs, and didn't cost that much more. Politics. It's what people thrive on.
  20. Check with his pediatrician and verify with your insurance which provider is part of the plan and if a referral is needed. That is the first step.
  21. Love my Tempurpedic Lux. Nothing like it. Got it at Mattress Firm in Hiram near the Firehouse Subs.
