Too bad the cotton bags have 200 times the environmental impact of regular old plastic bags. If you reuse the grocery bags for trash can liners as many people do, then the plastic ones are even better for the environment. For all of you that use cotton bags for groceries, are you BUYING plastic bags to line your trash can? For me, I definitely don't want to carry a package of meat, especially chicken or something in a bag that has to be washed (more environmental impact) or else I risk getting salmonella on my fruit veggies or anything else the next time I use them. http://www.ind

I think the police activity at Target in Hiram tonight and the people that were using fake checks at Target are separate incidents. I saw the police and people cuffed beside the shoe store to the right of Target around 8:00, but the news story about the fake checks was on the 5:00 news and it said they were already in the Paulding jail. Side note, can we seriously add the word "Paulding" to the spell check on this site? For it to be the name of the site, its just messed up that it gets underlined as misspelled every time you type it.

We saw the same thing - guy cuffed on the ground, 4 police cars. Quick check of channel 2's website: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/thieves-busted-string-target-robberies-using-fake-/nFybn/ "Thieves busted in string of Target robberies using fake checks"

Most of those suggested repairs don't seem like ordinary sounding maintenance items. It would be interesting to know what they said was wrong with them. Motor mount? is your motor going to fall out of the car? If your brakes sound rough, like a scratching or grinding sound, then you'll need new brake rotors (disks) in addition to pads. $150 seems high to just do brake pads, but I either do my own or have my in laws shop do them (for free). Sorry, but their shop is in south Georgia, or I'd recommend them - they are a Firestone branded tire store, but we actually had to buy a new tire up her

Can you recommend a safe and free anti-virus program?

+1 for AVG Google Earth shouldn't be slowing anything down unless you leave it open all the time. If you still see it on the task bar (thing at the bottom of screen), then its still open and using resources other programs could be using. -
There is a nice outdoor range near Calhoun on Johns Mountain WMA. Only fee is a couple dollars to park and you can shoot all day. They are closed on Sunday for some reason.

Recreational 90 octane, non-ethanol fuel in Paulding

DANG IT!!!!! I thought this thread was because someone had actually found pure gas in Paulding somewhere. Is the place in Cartersville an actual gas station, or just a supplier? If you're ever in Rome, head west out Shorter Avenue towards Alabama and Evans store on the right has some. I'll be in Rome this weekend and I plan to bring back a couple gallons for the lawnmower, weedeater, etc. -
While we're on topic of Mexican food, has anybody else had their credit card info stolen after using it at La Cocina? I had two different card's info compromised, but I never was out of possession of my wallet. We could never really prove that's where it happened, but we ate their so much, and have now heard of a couple other issues with them. One person that I've mentioned this to said their CC company told them to never use a CC there again (because the CC company knew it was happening there). Someone else had their tip amount changed from what they wrote down to what was actually charg

I haven't picked up today's bag of rocks yet, but assuming its the same company that usually does it, I've got some things to say... 1. Previously they've claimed that some US Supreme court decision grants them the ability to distribute "litter free" advertising in this manner. I've looked all over the internet and through the supreme court archives and couldn't find anything remotely similar to a court decision on the matter. 2. They claim to employ only Christian single mothers. In the horrible reviews I read online, it was mentioned that someones first (and only) cleaning visit from

You said thinking about getting rid of Comcast. Do you mean getting rid of Comcast's DVR? Tivo isn't a cable service, it just replaces the cable box that you would normally get from Comcast. You still need cable access, and you actually have to still rent a cable card from comcast to install in the tivo box for it to work. I've used dish, comcast, and Tivo DVRs, and Tivo is the only thing I'll use. They are also nice if they are hooked into high speed internet, as you can use it to stream netflix, amazon video, youtube, hulu plus, pandora radio, and any media hosted on your computer straig

If you're in the area... Chin Chin on Barrett intersection with Old 41 (just before you get to Cobb Pkwy - Publix shopping center). Don't be fooled by the shopping center, they have white linens, and everything is cooked to order (you can even see the whole kitchen from the dining room). There are several Chin Chins around Atlanta, but this is the only one we've ever tried. It is the best Chinese food I've ever had. The same Chinese couple has been operating it for several years, and they always ask why we don't come in as often anymore (we used to live really close). I always tell th

99% of the crab legs you get in a restaurant are Alaskan snow crab legs (or maybe Russian, but its the same water), the other 1% of places serve king crab legs. So am I to understand that Catfish Den's crab legs are no longer all you can eat??? If thats the case, my wife and I are probably partly responsible. We put down 7 or 8 lbs when we went.
-
Its been a few months since I've been, but Catfish Den had them on Wednesdays only, for about $18. They were really good and since it ISN'T a buffet, they are cooked fresh and hot each time you order another plate of them. I hope they're still serving them (and still open)

Don't deal with all the touristy crap I've never liked Pineapple Willys, and Montego Bay was not good at all. Go eat at Pier 77 (across the road from Capt Andersons) and go before 6 local time (Central time) for the twilight specials, but they always have $.99 margaritas. They have great seafood, prices are really good, and it doesn't have the usual atmosphere of PCB. Hunts Oyster Bar in Panama City (not Panama City Beach) is still just as great as they always have been (except for those couple years after the fire), but now that they had an article in Southern Living, expect to ha

I saved someones butt a couple months ago on 120 headed towards Marietta. I was heading to work, driving in the right lane, going around 60. The car next to me was doing about the same speed, but the mustang behind me really wanted to get around us. Its not my problem the person in the left lane isn't going faster than traffic in the right lane, so I'm not going to speed just to let the car behind me over. The mustang was really getting agitated (they were making all kind of gestures), but what they didn't know is that I had seen one of Cobb County's finest running radar about a mile

Unfortunately there are really no stations around us (except one in Cartersville), but here is a map of the gas stations that still sell actual gas. http://pure-gas.org/extensions/map.html

either cut in 1/4" slices down the length of it and grilled (use a little olive oil and salt) or cut in thinner slices and saute with some olive oil in a pan - a few thin sliced onions are a good addition I basically lived off of them while in college
