  1. Don't let those kids with holes in their ears keep you from shopping at Hot Topic. Shop online.
  2. You reap what you sow. Being an asshole finally caught up with him.
  3. Awesome. We'll have a commercial airport, but no taxis. That makes perfect sense.
  4. Same here. I found one crawling on my foot in my kitchen this morning. I only see them here and there and when I do there's only one, never a trail or anything.
  5. I agree. I took martial arts for 4 years, as an adult. I personally witnessed lots of kids become more respectful and disciplined. However, if the parents aren't willing to change their ways, I doubt the kid will.
  6. Interesting. I think I need one of those. I spent half the day all excited about grilling beer Brats and sauerkraut. Then I realized I forgot to buy the sauerkraut. We're having beer Brats with caramelized onions and oven roasted garlic butter herb fries.
  7. I hate loud. My husband works with machines that make noise all day and it's starting to affect his hearing. The TV is always too loud, it drives me nuts. I actually feel physically uncomfortable when something's way too loud. Concerts don't bother me though. When I go to the movies it takes me a few minutes to adjust to how loud it is but then I'm fine.
  8. Same here. I've never had a parsnip either.
  9. I haven't had Arby's since the Dallas location closed. I refuse to go to Hiram unless I absolutely have to. It's definitely not worth the traffic for a doughnut or Bojangles. I guess I'm part of the 5% that frequents the "forgotten" stretch. I love me some Captain D's!
  10. My mom is bringing the ham, deviled eggs and chocolate pie. I'm making brussels sprouts in Sherry bacon cream sauce, cheese grits casserole and Asiago artichoke dip for the appetizer. My sister is bringing pineapple casserole and my sis in law is bringing homemade Mac & cheese. Hope everyone has a great day!
  11. I hope they use a different announcer next year and I hope someone said something to him so he doesn't make the same mistake again. That's really not cool. (Unless he was refering to a kid named Forrest.) I hope everyone was able to look past it a have a great time.
  12. I can take them or leave them. I could go to the rest of my life without eating another doughnut and be fine with it.
  13. Yes, it's the glaze. I don't like the glaze. I'm an old-fashioned cake doughnut kind of girl.
  14. I think I'm the only person in the world that doesn't like Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
  15. It happens to me too. But sometimes I actually am stalking.
  16. I don't know if you Pinterest or not but there are lots of healthy recipes to be found. I've recently done a 360 in my eating habits. I went to the dr for a sinus infection and left with high blood pressure diagnosis . I've been eating healthier ever since and I've found some really great healthy recipes on Pinterest. Healthy food can be pretty damn good, who knew? You can search specifically for diabetic friendly meals and such. Good luck to your husband, it's a good thing he caught it early, be thankful for that! And good luck to you too.
  17. Every time I read the title of this thread I sing...Once upon a time there was light in my life but now there's only love in the dark. Nothing I can say, a total eclipse of the heart. Turn around, bright eyes...
  18. What Stradial said. I don't have the answers but I know we will never find them if we don't start asking the right questions. When something like this happens, the conversation immediately turns to banning this and that. Nobody ever discusses WHAT can be done to keep our kids safe, they just clutch their guns a little bit tighter. I think that's the wrong response and it's not practical either. And, no, I don't think we need to start screening kids that don't "fit in". My son is Autistic, I am all about inclusion. Like I said, I don't have the answers, I'm just so tired of this type of thing h
  19. The kid had to be sick, end discussion? That's exactly my point. Why was this unstable kid at school? what happened to drive him to this? What steps could have been taken to prevent it? Sorry, "he is sick or evil" is not good enough for me. Our mental health system sucks and nobody seems to give a crap. Our priorities as a country are so trucked up. Have your guns, have 100043 guns, I care not. I care about my kids, other kids and their safety at school. That's my agenda. I'm sick and tired of kids dying at school.
  20. As long as the conversation continues to revolve around the weapon used in these acts of violence, we're not going to see much progress on this matter. We need to be discussing why, not with what.
  21. Do you know which neighbors called? Perhaps you could talk to them and explain the situation? That makes me sad too. I'm sorry.
