  1. Actually the shoe doesn't fit. IRL i'm not considered a liberal, just a normal person. I think that's probably true of many of the "liberals" around here. And I firmly stand by my hypocrisy statement. It's rampant in these parts. I mean, I don't see how anyone could NOT see it. Anyway, I have the next 4 hours to myself and these bathtubs won't clean themselves My apologies, Mrs.Howard,
  2. Are you by chance speaking about me? I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy. I have no problem with ceejay, I certainly don't doubt that she's intelligent and articulate. How many liberal women do you actually know? I'm assuming it's a lot given the way you're making such huge generalizations. Can a left-leaning woman not be intelligent and articulate? Must everyone agree with you in order to be considered intelligent? I find your comments to be insulting to women in general. Why is it nobody ever makes these comments about men?
  3. Because you agree with her. I think this is a pretty rude thing to say. Amazing how many of you get your panties in a wad any time TP or some other left-leaning person makes generalizations or insults about conservatives, yet, some of the left bashing going on this thread is just brutal.
  4. My mom and I passed it a little while ago. It was an odd sight. I really didn't think that the explorer in the median could've possibly been pulling a camper of that size. That wasn't a very bright idea. The explorer had a ripped off bumper and all of its windows busted out. I thought it was weird how the windows were busted. Unless maybe the explorer took a tumble?
  5. It looks like a fish. Kinda cute.
  6. I tend to think many of the votes for Obama were actually votes against the Republican Party. They (republicans) have nobody to blame but themselves for that. Stop pandering to the extreme religious right and I think more people would get on board.
  7. I know a landscaper pretty well. He would return yours or anyone else's call ASAP. Call Turf King.
  8. Wow. That's really messed up. Poor woman, and her family was in the car. How horrible. It's scary how sick people can be.
  9. Google what is wrong with America and this thread might come up. I know successful people who are democrat and rebublican. None of the generalizations of either party that have come up in this thread hold true to the people I know.
  10. None of it makes sense. The more details that come out, the less sense it makes. I'm not sold on the story one way or another. I don't trust the media, at all.
  11. I don't want to seem presumptuous. I never met her. She had a hard time over the past few years, that we know. But she was a spunky woman. She was kind and empathetic and real, that much I could tell. I don't like to think that she lived a sad life. I don't think she would want us to only remember her lows. She had grandchildren that she loved and was very proud of. She was a woman who worked for what she had yet wasn't too prideful to admit when she needed help. She obviously saw the good in people, and she never lost her umph. She will be missed.
  12. How completely heartbreaking. I'm at a loss for words. RIP, Spunkywoman.
  13. Happens to me often. I think it's probably just a glitch with the app. they always reappear later.
  14. Hubby and I are looking for a place to go also. We have unexpected free time in late July and would love to take the fam to the beach. Everything (house or condo) we've looked at is booked. Good luck!
  15. That cracked me up too. And yea, that Aunt Flo is a real bitch.
  16. Tonight I'm making mushroom asiago chicken. Brown butter rice, kale chips and garlic bread on the side.
  17. This is the recipe that I adapted my recipe from. It calls for cream sherry but honestly, I just use regular ole cooking sherry. I've never met anyone who'd didn't like this recipe. http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/216028/brussels-sprouts-in-a-sherry-bacon-cream-sauce
  18. I'm grilling boneless pork chops. On the side is roasted brussels sprouts with caramelized onions & sherry bacon cream sauce (we have that every week) and homemade baked beans.
  19. I also agree with you. Here is a long but interesting article about how and why this can happen. http://m.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/fatal-distraction-forgetting-a-child-in-thebackseat-of-a-car-is-a-horrifying-mistake-is-it-a-crime/2014/06/16/8ae0fe3a-f580-11e3-a3a5-42be35962a52_story.html
  20. Years ago I worked at Petco and I occasionally was given the task of cleaning out the birdcages. It was so scary. The beaks on some of those birds were sharp enough to rip your finger right off. (that might be an exaggeration, still scary though) Mostly I'm just glad they never asked me to clean out the reptile habitats. :shudder:
