  1. Yeah . . . that could have been so much worse. I'm glad it wasn't.
  2. Well darn. Timing is everything. You should have never changed your original name, it was a good one.
  3. I hope that if the grand jury indicts, it is only because there is real evidence and/or cause to do so . . . NOT to pacify those making threats. Looks like it's time for another name change.
  4. I haven't heard anything about kids killing kids. What are you talking about?? Shallow Hal made a similar point, and after giving it some thought, y'all are probably right.
  5. A paramedic? That's cool. But if you pay any attention at all, you would know that cain and I rarely agree. And it is a coincidence that we agree on some issues where the police seem overly aggressive and unjust, while we disagree on pretty much everything else.
  6. Sure. Kids should not be allowed to have toy guns - anywhere (political correctness) and should know how to follow simple instructions shouted by nervous police officers (learn to fear the police). Fwiw, I don't talk any kind of game, but I do know how time seems to slow down in an instance like that. But being a public servant (code for social worker?), I'm sure your knowledge is based on TV.
  7. Ha ha . . . you know what I mean, smartass!!
  8. Let's see: cops, wearing vests and having been trained to properly use a firearm, encounter a kid with a "gun" in his waistband . . . yeah, they could have waited 2 more seconds. You shouldn't preach about "sheltered people" and "what the real world is like" when you have no idea who you are talking to. But I'm sure you did your time in tha 'hood.
  9. And you would never do anything like that, would you?
  10. You think so? Maybe if the kid had a game controller, he would still be alive . . . or would he? Kids do dumb things, they are expected to do dumb things - they are kids! Those in law enforcement are supposed to be adults who have been trained extensively and react in a calm, calculated manner. It is reasonable to expect those in law enforcement to make better, more informed decisions than children. You want to blame parents? You're wrong - blame the quick-draw cop.
  11. This is absurd. Whether it's a BB gun, a nerf gun, or a squirt gun - it was not a weapon. The cop screwed up and should be held responsible (regardless of pubby's ideas of responsibility) . . . And kids should be allowed to play . . . and live - regardless of poor judgment.
  12. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also glad to know you weren't on one of the violently ill cruises.
  13. I am truly happy for you! What an experience.
  14. I'm sure that the date is the same day that I intend to never support an airport in paulding county.
  15. Excellent point! There were way too many unanswered questions at the end of the first one (and the remake).
  16. You're right. But the people in Ferguson don't care about the facts.
  17. If I can find a store that is selling baby sloths, I might get out and about.
  18. The fact of the matter in this case is that the black community feels that an injustice has occurred and they have decided to accept nothing less than the cop being charged . . . for now . . . or they will riot and loot and (by accounts) commit violence. Even if the cop went to trial, should he be found not guilty (and based on reports he probably would be, if it was truly a fair trial), there would still be rioting and looting (and possibly violence) because they will not be satisfied until the cop is in jail and/or dead.
  19. According to Lucky, they are filming a sequel to the original Footloose movie at the Briarpatch. Evidently, it will star Kevin Bacon and Zac Efron. Footloose was a movie about a backwoods, hick town . . . ruled by old people who "knew what was best" for the people . . . but the kids danced in protest and everything turned out fine.
  20. I think I get your point . . . and that's a sad thought.
  21. What he read (assuming he can read and did read it): Blah blah blah, blahblah blah blah. Blah blah whine blah blah.
  22. How can someone that's been alive that long not have the chance to see an ocean . . . or sea . . . or gulf?
  23. I am sorry to say this, but that is a very ignorant statement. The portion of LPPT's quote below explains why . . . ↑ Enough said. What about him has been most influential in your life: your vision of him as what a father and family man should be . . . or the recent allegations?
