I dont think he had pulled over for the fire truck. It seems he was off the road before it came into sight. I think he was stupid for pulling out like that. If I was pulled over for an emergency vehicle, I would not pull out unless the oncoming car was STOPPED, in this weather. He did not have the right of way, and nobody should assume that someone is giving it to them, especially in these conditions. I dont think he was trying to spin, though. LPPT: I feel more comfortable with one hand on the wheel. My back is horrible, and it tenses me up. I'm much better when relaxed. I think i

Good point! The worst thing you can do is slam your brakes on.

Chiropractor Dallas Ga how to choose a supplement
MaineGal replied to SOTDOC's topic in Business NEWS
Do you suggest seeing a chiropractor if you have herniated discs in your lower back? I used to have migraines, and went to a chiropractor, and never had another one. I now have herniated discs and I'm a little unsure. -
Maybe to try to scare them from doing it in the first place. I dont know. If they DID do anything, theres always a parent in the crowd wanting to sue someone. Its really too bad that things need to be this way....I would hope that we wouldnt raise our kids to just stand around and watch when someone needs their help.

Gee, thanks for letting us know!!

Nice! I'm very thankful I dont have one of those steep driveways that go DOWN to my house. That would be scary!

You could have just put some bleach in it, then it would be just like tap water!! We just put a bowl out, so hopefully it keeps coming and we collect enough. If not, we will have to scrape the top layer off the table..

My kids are going to eat their very first snow cream today!! In the north I remember eating the snow, but we never mixed anything with it!! As far as the pollution, it is in every vegatable you eat. Its all fertilized by the polluted water, as well as fertilized with chemicals. I also grew up drinking well water, which is only "screened" by the dirt. With diseases on the rise, I would tend to think that treated water and chemical fertilizer is far worse than rainwater that everyone used to live on in the ol' days. I do get the point, though. Its just not a big issue for me. If

I'm a home-body so I am always prepared to stay in for the weekend! If I need anything, my boyfriend will go out. Thankfully we are close to a store...

I know!! My parents were pretty boring! LOL! However, we lived on a dirt road, with no traffic especially when it snowed or iced. We would ride our sleds down the road!! My brother is now road commisioner for that town, as well as plows many private roads, parking lots, and driveways. My children and I lived next door from him for a winter and he plowed our entire yard (lawn and all) up into a huge pile. We then built tunnels through it and could slide down it. The kids LOVED it!! The plow guys are very deserving of the gifts that are given. They seem to work non-stop through the stor

I told mine that the tooth fairy already had her route planned, and she would probably arrive the next evening.

Wow, relax. 1. Part of having kids is having to plan for them in less than desirable situations. People all over the country wait in front of the tv and find out 1 hour before the bus should arrive, that school is cancelled. Yes, parents in the North work and handle it all winter, every winter. 2. There are tons of people on here that get excited about snow, including people from the North. I have been here for 4 years, and yes, it would be exciting to have some snow....but I would rather have spring. Regardless of parents being excited about snow or not...children still will be. I dont

Well, now it is saying that it is starting at 9am tomorrow. If it changes a little bit, we likely will see much more than 1 or 2 inches. I checked the weather in Montgomery for tomorrow for one of my drivers and it said possible accumulation of 5 to 6 inches. I hope we see zero.

No matter the reason, if my child is falling behind, or misses a class, it is MY responsibility to see to it that they catch up. 20% may be high, but that means that there are 20% of the parents that need to spend some time working with their child. If they extended the year into the summer, the CRCT's will have already been taken, and I'm guessing there wouldnt be a lot of educational time spent in the last 2 days. This is how it worked when I was growing up. We had many snow days every year, and the last week or so of school was fun time. The thing of it is, when the flooding occur

So, if we get 2" of snow, will that make it a blizzard?? Inquiring Yankee mind wants to know!! LOL J/K!! Really though.....my Mom is here from up North...and its the same temperature!! Boy, was she fooled!! Honestly, I hope we see no snow..and the temps get up to the mid 60's.

Its really not about if they will learn anything or not. There are guidelines on how long they need to attend school, and the line needs to be drawn somewhere. I would rather have 15 minutes extra, than I would have them go longer into summer, or disrupt some vacations that people have already paid for. Many children go to ASP, many get picked up anyway, or have stay at home parents. I know, many dont, but it seems like a way to please the majority.

Uh-oh...it wasnt you was it?? LOL J/K

I liked the guy who sang "straight up". Much better than the original!! I wish the country girl would have made it further.

Too bad I dont carry my camera with me!! There was a brand new flashy Lexus with a temporary tag in the fire lane--along with a repair truck (I think they were working inside), and another vehicle with a handicap tag. The Lexus was parked there, with the driver in it, then what looked to be a teenage girl came out and got in. I couldnt see what she bought that was so important that she was unable to walk to a PARKING space with it.

Thank goodness its not! They can keep it.
